FIT, 60 years old in 2013, has set up an Organisational Development Committee
to review the federation’s structures and make proposals for adapting them as
necessary so that FIT is capable of meeting the challenges of the 21st century.
The committee has the following members:

The Committee has already started its work by engaging in an exchange on
general principles. Now individual subject areas are being discussed in more
detail, such as FIT’s financial situation or its governance. The aim is to produce
results (i.e. a general framework or even redrafted Bylaws) for the next Council
meeting in Oslo in early 2013. If approved, the outcome will be distributed to
the member associations, giving them about a year to examine the proposals
and react to them. The ambitious goal is to get the new structure adopted by

Congress in Berlin in July 2014.
The results of the 2012 FIT membership survey are being taken into account by
the Committee. If you feel strongly about any aspects of FIT’s role and structure
and wish to bring them to the Committee’s attention, please send an email to
the FIT Secretariat ([email protected]) or to the Committee Chair
([email protected]).
AATI (AR)
News about AATI, posted on CADRA’s website (CADRA is an association of
authors and publishers of books and other publications that protects and
collectively manages copyright/intellectual property rights in Argentina):

On August 27, 2012, CADRA President Carlos Alberto Pazos and AATI President
Alejandra Mercedes Jorge signed a cooperation agreement. AATI represents
and protects the interests of technical, scientific and literary translators and
interpreters, including intellectual property rights, and carries out awareness
and advocacy activities to promote professional practices and improve the
continuous education of its members.
This agreement represents another major step in CADRA’s efforts to support
and promote intellectual property rights.

Resuming the conference cycle dedicated to the broad topic of translation and
its social status,which began in Herceg Novi in 1984, the Association of Scientific
and Technical Translatorsis pleased to inform you that from November 23rd to
24th 2012, on the occasion of the International Translation Day (September
30th), as well as on the occasion of the renewed regular FIT membership, will be
held the professional conference on the topic Translation and Society.
The Association of Scientific and Technical Translators of Serbia kindly invites
you to the conference, and asks you, for the purpose of preparation of the Book
of Abstracts in Serbian and foreign language, to apply by sending your topic title
and abstract, including the keywords (up to 1.500 characters) of your paper (up
to 15.000 characters with spaces) for oral presentation by September 25th,
2012 to the following addresses: [email protected]; [email protected] or by mail to
address of the Association , 9 Kicevska Str., 11000 Belgrade, Serbia.
The 4th International Conference on English, Discourse and Intercultural
Communication will be held in Macao (Part I – June 11th – 14th, 2013) and
Urumqi, Xinjiang Uygur Autonomous Region, China (Part II – June 14th – 17th,
2013). The conference is co-organised by Macao Polytechnic Institute and the
Education Department of Xinjiang Uygur Autonomous Region and Xinjiang

Normal University.

Célébrant son 60e anniversaire en 2013, la FIT a établi un comité sur le
développement organisationnel afin de passer en revue la structure de la
Fédération et de proposer toute modification nécessaire pour que la FIT puisse
relever les défis du XXIe siècle.

Le comité a mis la main à la pâte en lançant un débat sur les principes généraux.
Déjà, des sujets particuliers ont été abordés plus en détail dont la situation
financière de la FIT et sa gouvernance. Le but consiste à en arriver à des
résultats (ex. : cadre de travail général ou même réédition du Règlement
intérieur) qui seront présentés à la prochaine réunion du Conseil à Oslo au
début de 2013. S'il y a approbation, ces résultats seront distribués aux
organisations membres, leur donnant environ un an pour étudier les
propositions et y réagir. Le but ultime et ambitieux serait de voir la nouvelle
structure adoptée par le Congrès de Berlin en juillet 2014.

Les résultats du sondage 2012 auprès des membres de la FIT ont été pris en
compte par le comité. Si vous avez des points sérieux concernant tout aspect du
rôle et de la structure de la FIT et que vous voudriez les porter à l'attention du
comité, nous vous saurions gré de les transmettre par mail (courriel) au

AATI (AR)
CADRA (Centre d’administration des droits de reproduction), l'association civile
argentine qui protège les droits de reproduction des œuvres des écrivains,
éditeurs, traducteurs et interprètes, vient de publier l'annonce suivante sur son
site Web au sujet de son dernier accord signé avec l’AATI (Association Argentine
de Traducteurs et Interprètes). Voir www.cadra.org.ar.
Entente avec l’AATI
Le 27 août, Monsieur Carlos Alberto Pasos, président de CADRA, et Madame
Alejandra Mercedes Jorge, présidente de l’AATI, ont signé une entente de
collaboration mutuelle. L’AATI représente et protège les intérêts des traducteurs
littéraires, scientifiques et techniques, et ceux des interprètes, par l'entremise
d’actions de diffusion et de promotion contribuant ainsi à la formation continue
de ses associés de même qu'à leur perfectionnement professionnel.
Cet accord constitue un nouveau pas d'avant dans la gestion permanente de
CADRA en vue de la promotion et de la protection des droits d’auteur des
écrivains, des traducteurs et des interprètes argentins.
