Expression of thanks to the outgoing members of the FIT Council
The FIT Council for 2011-2014 expresses its gratitude to members of the FIT Council who have
given their time and efforts to the organisation over the years, and in particular to those who
completed their term of office with the closing of the XIXth FIT World Congress in San Francisco in
August 2011.
At an evening event that brought together the incoming and outgoing Councils, the outgoing Council
members present in San Francisco – Vice-Presidents Miriam Lee and Youyi Huang and Council
members Sheryl Hinkkanen and Elisabet Middelthon – were warmly thanked for their contribution to
FIT and received a small gift as a token of appreciation. As part of the opening and closing
ceremonies of the Open Congress, the FIT Gold Pin was awarded to Youyi, Miriam and Sheryl in
recognition of their sustained service to FIT.
The full list of members who retired from Council at the statutory congress in San Francisco is as
follows:

They all contributed, each in their own way, to the work of the FIT Council and to FIT committees,
regional centres and events. Their efforts have made FIT a stronger and more vibrant international
organisation and we thank them.

Remerciements aux membres sortants du Conseil de la FIT
Le nouveau Conseil de la FIT 2011-2014 tient à exprimer sa gratitude aux membres du Conseil de la
FIT précédent qui ont consacré leur temps et leur énergie à la fédération au fil des ans, et en
particulier à ceux dont le mandat a pris fin à la clôture du XIXe Congrès mondial de la FIT à San
Francisco en août dernier.
Lors d'une soirée réunissant l’ancien et le nouveau Conseil, les membres sortants qui étaient présents
à San Francisco – la Vice-présidente Miriam Lee, le Vice-président Youyi Huang et les membres
Sheryl Hinkkanen et Elisabet Middelthon – ont été chaleureusement remerciés de leurs contributions
à la FIT et ont reçus un petit cadeau en guise d’appréciation. Par ailleurs, aux cérémonies d’ouverture
et de clôture du Congrès, l'Epingle d'or de la FIT a été remise à Youyi, à Miriam et à Sheryl en
reconnaissance de leur engagement inlassable pour la fédération.
