FATAL HEAD-ON COLLISION
Une collision frontale entre deux (2) véhicules
s’est produite ce matin, vers 07 h 40, sur la
route 148 dans la municipalité de Pontiac,
secteur Luskville.
Le conducteur d’un
véhicule utilitaire sport, Richard Filion, 49
ans, ainsi que sa conjointe, Manon Aubin, 47
ans, tous deux (2) habitant à Gatineau, ont
malheureusement péri dans l’accident. Les
décès furent constatés au centre hospitalier
de Hull. Avant l’impact, ceux-ci étaient en
direction ouest.
At approximately 07:40 hrs this morning, two
(2) vehicles were involved in a head-on
collision on Highway 148, in the Municipality
of Pontiac, Luskville sector. The driver of a
sport utility vehicle, 49 year old Richard Filion
and his spouse, 47 year old Manon Aubin,
both residents of Gatineau, unfortunately
perished in the accident. Their deaths were
confirmed at the Hull Hospital. They were
travelling in a westbound direction before the
impact.
Pour ce qui est de l’autre personne
impliquée, il s’agit d’une dame de 33 ans de
la municipalité de Bryson qui, elle, conduisait
une camionnette.
Celle-ci fut aussi
transportée au centre hospitalier de Hull afin
de soigner des blessures sérieuses et son
état est toujours jugé critique.
As for the driver of the other vehicle involved,
she is a 33 year old woman from the
Municipality of Bryson, and driving a pick-up
truck. She was also transported to the Hull
Hospital to receive treatment for serious
injuries and her condition is still considered
critical.
Selon les premières constatations des
enquêteurs, c’est la dame de 33 ans qui
aurait dévié de sa voie pour aller percuter de
plein fouet le véhicule venant en sens
inverse. La raison de ce changement de voie
demeure encore inconnue puisque plusieurs
éléments faisant partie de l’enquête doivent
être vérifiés et analysés, ce qui pourrait
prendre plusieurs semaines. Par contre, et
pour l’instant, l’hypothèse la plus plausible
pointerait en direction de la fatigue ou bien
d’une distraction quelconque.
According to the preliminary findings of the
investigators, the 33 year old woman would
have deviated from her lane and hit head-on
the oncoming vehicle. It is still unknown why
she crossed into the other lane as many
elements of the investigation have to be
verified and analysed, which could take
several weeks. However, and for the present
time, the most plausible hypothesis would be
fatigue or some sort of distraction.
Afin d’aider à l’enquête, nous demandons
l’aide du public à savoir si quelqu’un aurait
aperçu ou suivi la camionnette bleue Ford F150 de la dame de 33 ans entre Shawville et
Luskville, et ce, entre 07 h 15 et 07 h 40.
To assist the investigation, we are asking the
public’s assistance to find someone who
would have seen or followed the blue Ford F150 pick-up truck, driven by the 33 year old
woman, between Shawville and Luskville,
between the hours of 07:15 and 07:40.

personne impliquée oeuvraient tous dans le
domaine de la santé, et ce, dans la
municipalité de Shawville.
It should be noted that the couple as well as
the other woman involved were all working in
the health field, and in the Municipality of
Shawville.
