Introducing Solids to Your Baby
For parents/guardians with babies 0-9 months of age
Join a registered dietitian as she talks about how to successfully introduce solids to your baby. She will also
demonstrate how to make your own baby food as well as how to make feeding your baby fun and easy!

Building Resiliency in Young Children—2 part workshop
For parents/guardians and/or caregivers.
What does resilience mean? In this 2 part workshop we will focus on the role parents play in increasing
resilience in their child as well as explore practical tools to help their children develop strategies to be more
resilient over time.
Story time with the Librarian
Join a librarian from the Ottawa Public Library as she facilitates a special circle time with songs, stories and
rhymes!
Child Care Connection Meeting
An opportunity for parents and home child care providers to connect through a facilitated meeting.
Toilet Learning Workshop
For parents/guardians and/or caregivers.
Be pro-active in your approach to toilet learning. Better understand the signs of readiness to ensure a smooth
transition from diapering. This workshop compiles current research with a respectful approach to this important
milestone.
Sensory Exploration!
For children 3 to 6 years of age and their parents/guardians and/or caregivers.
Children (and adults) learn best and retain the most information when they engage their senses. By giving
children the opportunity to investigate materials, you’re helping them develop and refine their cognitive, social
and emotional, physical, creative and linguistic skills. Join us as we explore through our senses!
Music with Baby! (During Industrial Baby Playgroup)
Introduce your baby to the joy of music! We will explore with different instruments while singing songs, finger plays,
bounces, games and rhymes that you can also use at home. No registration required.
Unless otherwise specified, workshops and information sessions will only take

Story Walk
For children 2-6 years old and their parents/guardians and/or caregivers.
Join us for an outdoor adventure and discover a new way to read books with your
child! Pages of a storybook will be placed along a path where families can enjoy the
outdoors while reading a story. Children will also have the opportunity to participate in a
take home activity while warming up to a nice cup of hot chocolate!
Please dress appropriately for the weather.
*Please note that all parent/child workshops with registration will start on time and we will not accept anyone

For parents/guardians and/or caregivers.
There will be two sessions to choose from: Parenting your 2 year old and/or Parenting your 3 year old.
Parenting can be wonderful and rewarding, but it can also be difficult and challenging. Join us as we
discuss the benefits of positive discipline for both you and your child. Learn age appropriate positive
discipline strategies to help your child understand what is important.
Understanding Children’s Sleep Habits - Information Session
An Early Years Educator will be available to provide information and tips on healthy sleep habits,
and to discuss challenges you may be having. Handouts and book recommendations will be provided.
No registration required.

compétence acquise, autant que pour la mère que pour l’enfant. Afin de maximiser vos chances de succès,
il est important d’amasser l’information et d’établir votre réseau de soutien avant l’arrivée de bébé. Venez à
cette session d'apprentissage et découvrez où vous pouvez obtenir du soutien à l’allaitement dans la région
d'Ottawa. Cette session francophone est offerte par une consultante en allaitement certifié IBCLC.
