University of Toronto: Resident`s News
February 2016 University of Toronto: Resident’s News Tiffany Parsons, MD (PGY3), Daniel Wong, MD (PGY2) and Claudia Posso-De Los Rios, MD (PGY1) Greetings from the University of Toronto Dermatology Program The CaRMS process is almost over. It is an exciting time to meet the candidates for our program. We wish them all the best of luck in the match. Also, good luck to the PGY5s who are studying for DRIVE and the final exam. We want to welcome the new incoming chief resident, Dr Michael Corbo, and his co-chiefs, Dr Andrea Lam and Dr Leah Kincaid, who will be taking over this year. The outgoing chiefs (Drs Anna Burkett, Jane Wu, Kristy Bailey, Farheen Mussani and Trevor Champagne) did an extraordinary job for our program. Thank you! The American Academy of Dermatology Annual Meeting is approaching. We are looking forward to seeing residents from across the country in the interesting city of Washington D.C. It will be a perfect academic environment in which to learn and meet our future colleagues. Other exciting academic meetings coming soon are the annual Resident Research Day in Toronto (June 16) and the CDA’s 91st Annual Conference in Saskatoon (June 22–26). This year has started with new projects in our dermatology program. The residents are proud to announce the launch of the updated dermatology portal, which offers an easier and wider access to tools and lectures – a wonderful academic resource! Special thanks to Drs Michal Bohdanowicz (PGY1), Jaclyn Linzon-Smith (PGY2), Tan Rajakulendran (PGY1) and Yuliya Velykoredko (PGY2) for their commitment to this project. We have also received approval to improve the photographic documentation process, optimizing our interesting cases library for educational purposes and potential future publication. Thanks to Drs Michal Bohdanowicz (PGY1), Tiffany Chen (PGY3), Annie Liu (PGY1) and Claudia Posso-De Los Rios (PGY1). We thank all the attending staff, residents and support personnel who have encouraged our ideas and supported our academic development. Finally, congratulations to Drs Claudia Posso-De Los Rios and Gustavo Rubio-Gomez on the recent birth of baby Laura.
