Artisans representing ten métiers from the Parisian house will leave the secrecy of their workshops at Hermès to bring their work, their experience and their passion to you. Bags, saddles, gloves, silk scarves, ties, watches, jewellery… the making of all these Hermès objects will be revealed. Continue your visit with: creative workshops, discussions, the dedicated bookshop, and the organic café. a company to its local area lie at the heart of contemporary issues such as employment, training, long-term relationships, injecting impetus into regions, etc. DISCUSSIONS “Hermès hors les murs” examines issues relating to contemporary craftsmanship with eight discussions. Led by Andrée Fraiderik-Vertino, journalist and consultant, and Hugues Jacquet, socio-historian specialising in know-how, these round tables aim to promote an understanding of the changes and current contributions to know-how. Friday, 18 November at 7 pm • Draw me a scarf Andrée Fraiderik-Vertino Above and beyond the creative content, the entire history and artistic vision of Hermès goes into these few centimetres of silk or cashmere. Through colour and fabric, the scarf is born of the meticulous gestures of our artisans, before intertwining with desires. Pilot projects, associations and case studies will explore the issues involved in raising young people’s awareness of the métiers d’art.
