J 299-300 Ville de Paris, musée Cognacq-Jay Inv. J 530 Working with hard stone became a German speciality. This box is a specimen of Neuber's art. It amounts to a miniature cabinet of mineral curiosities. Neuber, who was also the owner of several quarries, carefully selected each stone from different seams and veins. The number scratched onto each one makes it possible to identify it, using the handbook sold with the box.
