Dexia Bank Belgium, as an Issuer of the FRF 1,500,000,000 6.25 per cent. Undated Subordinated Notes
(Isin code BE0116241358) (the "Notes"), notified on September 29, 2009, in accordance with the terms and
conditions of the Notes, its intention to exercise its call option to redeem all the Notes at their principal
amount on November 18, 2009.
Dexia has taken notice of the communication of the European Commission dated October 7, 2009 ("State
Aid: Commission recalls rules concerning Tier 1 and Tier 2 capital transactions for banks subject to a
restructuring aid investigation") and will analyse the consequences of such communication on the exercise of
such call option.
Dexia will discuss with the European Commission how this matter will be addressed in the on-going state aid
investigation.

Dexia a pris connaissance de la communication de la Commission européenne datée du 7 octobre 2009
(« State Aid: Commission recalls rules concerning Tier 1 and Tier 2 capital transactions for banks subject to
a restructuring aid investigation ») et procède à l'analyse des conséquences de cette communication sur
l'exercice de cette option de remboursement anticipé.
Dexia va s'entretenir avec la Commission européenne sur la façon de traiter ce sujet dans le contexte de la
procédure en cours sur les aides d'Etats.

het geheel van de Notes op 18 november 2009 aan hun nominale bedrag.
Dexia heeft kennis genomen van de communicatie van de Europese Commissie daterend van 7 oktober
2009 ("State Aid: Commission recalls rules concerning Tier 1 and Tier 2 capital transactions for banks
subject to a restructuring aid investigation") en zal een analyse maken van de gevolgen van deze
communicatie op de uitoefening van zulke optie tot vervroegde terugbetaling.
Dexia zal dit verder bespreken met de Europese Commissie in de context van de lopende procedure met
betrekking tot de staatsteun.
