My motivation to be a member of Council / Ma

I will be happy to contribute my time and
expertise to FIT hoping to help develop better FIT
presence in my region – Russia, Central Asia and
the Caucasus; and to give FIT a better
prospective of what is happening in this part of
the world in terms of the growth of our
profession. I want to be part of the team
dedicated to FIT.
My vision for FIT in support of FIT’s aims and

Being a Council member I will do my best to
make FIT the most recognizable and the top
expert professional organization in the world. I
am keen on making FIT more visible virtually and
develop the vision of new trends and
technologies for FIT

Conference interpreter- for 15 years
Translator – for 18 years
International experience, written and oral
expertise. Has been evaluating various projects
for more than 10 years being member of various
evaluating boards and editorial boards.
During the last 4 years I have been also
evaluating curricula in translation, interpretation
and languages as an independent reviewer in
Russia and CIS countries. Have been working a
lot with electronic evaluations and results so IT
skills are up-to-date.
Also I have experience in evaluating translation
and interpreting projects for international

organizations – UNDP in Russia, DAAD, UNESCO
etc.

is required in the FIT Council.

I have extensive experience in developing curricula
for programs in translation and interpreting in
partner universities of Russia and CIS, in terms of
Russia’s transfer to Bologna process.
I am an active practicing interpreter and translator
both for local and international clients.
Many study programs at the Institute of
Language and Professional Communication at
Astrakhan University which I am director of are
based on developing and expanding
technological innovations - including software
and hardware use to enable remote teaching and
learning. This enhanced the technical base of the
university by introducing computer-assisted
courses in languages, literature and translation,
and developing the relevant computer-assisted
methodologies including new software and
materials (even developing authentic electronic
dictionaries for the regional languages – Azeri,
Kazakh etc).

The candidate – Olga Egorova – is one of the
most internationally active UTR members. She
contributes a lot into the activities of the UTR,
proposes new initiatives and the UTR is sure that
Olga Egorova will be a very valuable member of
the FIT council. Her professional connections
include all the most important international
organizations (the European Commission, the
European Parliament, the UN, the OECD etc), the
most important governmental translator and
interpreter employers.
