ITD 2013 JMT 2013 Beyond Linguistic Barriers Par-delà les barrières - A United World linguistiques, un monde unifié The School of Translation at Glendon College and the Association of Translators and Interpreters of Ontario are once again organizing their yearly celebration to mark International Translation Day. Encore cette année, l’École de traduction du Collège universitaire Glendon, de concert avec l’Association des traducteurs et interprètes de l’Ontario, organise une célébration de la Journée mondiale de la traduction. Our keynote speaker, Dr. Joshua Price from the Translation Research and Instruction theme of the ITD. In his talk he will strive to answer the following question: “Can Translators Help Unify the World? Perils and Possibilities”. Notre conférencier invité, le professeur Joshua Price du Programme d'enseignement et de recherche en traduction et du Département de Sociologie de l'Université Binghamton illustrera le thème de la Journée en tâchant de répondre à la question: « Les traducteurs peuvent-ils contribuer à unifier le monde? Program and the Department of Sociology of Binghamton University, will illustrate the Glendon Campus, York University, 2275 Bayview Avenue, Toronto, ON www.glendon.yorku.ca Our keynote speaker Dr. Joshua Price is Associate Professor in the Translation Research and Instruction Program and the Department of Sociology at the State University of New York at Binghamton. He translated (with María Constanza Guzmán) Heidegger ́s Shadow by José Pablo Feinmann (forthcoming, Texas Tech University Press) and (with María Lugones) Indigenous and Popular Thinking in América by Rodolfo Kusch (Duke). His writing on translation has been published inTarget, Translation Perspectives, and Mutatis Mutandis. He is the author of two books, Prison and Social Death (forthcoming, Rutgers), and Structural Violence (State University of New York Press, 2012).
