French on the first Sunday of the month, English on the
second and Spanish on the third. Parents and Godparents are asked to participate in a Baptism Preparation
Program prior to their child’s baptism. Please Note:
There are no Baptisms during the season of Lent.

for our Marriage Preparation Program, please call the

OUR PARISH CELEBRATES THE LENTEN SCRUTINIES
Today, Sunday, April 10th, 2011 we celebrate the Third Scrutinies
with the Elect—those preparing for Baptism at the Easter Vigil on April
23rd, 2011. The Rite of Christian Initiation of Adults says that the purpose
of the Scrutinies is to ‘uncover and then to heal all that is weak, defective
and sinful in the hearts of the elect; to bring out and then to strengthen all
that is upright, strong and good.’ As we pray for them we ask God to do
exactly the same thing for us!
What can we as a parish do to help those preparing for Baptism,
Confirmation, and First Eucharist? If possible, take part in the Scrutiny at
the 12 Noon Mass. Spend some time in prayer for the men and women
preparing for the Sacraments of Initiation at the Easter Vigil. TODAY’S
PARISH, a Ligouri publication, gives this suggestion: Pray also for the
courage to look honestly into your own heart. What needs to be healed and
what needs to be strengthened in your own life?
‘Blessed are you, God of light and Lord of Life, for you have
opened our eyes to see your truth and to know your love. Improve our
sight that we may see your love that surrounds us…open our graves and
raise us to new life in your Son.’

are invited to attend the Annual Golden Wedding Jubilee Mass with
Archbishop Dolan at the Cathedral of St. Patrick, Sunday, May 22nd at

90th Street will present a Lenten evening of dramatic monologues based on "If They
Could Speak: Ten Witnesses to the Passion of Jesus" by John D. Powers. Ten St.
Gregory's parishioners will represent the thoughts of Pilate, the Repentant Thief,
Judas, Mary, the Mother, and others. All are welcome
VOLUNTEERS NEEDED: We are looking
for volunteers to assist at the sale of the 50/50
raffle envelopes on the third Sunday of each
month. We are also looking for volunteers to
help prepare the church for Easter. (cleaning,

Notre programme d’Education Religieuse a pour but d’offrir l’enseignement de la foi et le développement spirituel aux enfants de la
Maternelle au 8ème grade. Ces enfants reçoivent les Sacrements de
la Confession et de la 1ère Communion au 3èmegrade et la Confirmation au 9ème grade. Ces leçons sont faites par petits groupes,
durant les retraites et autres expériences pendant l’année. Nous
