Les PEUGEOT 208 WRX prêtes à
sortir les griffes à domicile
Dans la foulée de sa récente victoire canadienne, le Team Peugeot Hansen aborde la manche
française du Championnat du Monde FIA de Rallycross avec une détermination exacerbée. Au volant
de leur rugissante PEUGEOT 208 WRX, Sébastien Loeb et Timmy Hansen entendent bien
enflammer la foule de Lohéac, les 3 et 4 septembre.

Grâce à la victoire acquise à Trois Rivières, le Team Peugeot Hansen pointe désormais à
trente points du leader du championnat team. Evoluant sur ses terres devant un public acquis
à sa cause, la marque française espère bien réduire encore l’écart.

Sébastien Loeb évoluera sur un terrain connu. Il a en effet déjà couru sur la piste bretonne à
l’occasion d’une manche de championnat d’Europe en 2013. Sa venue avait d’ailleurs permis
d’établir l’affluence la plus forte jamais enregistrée par la discipline avec 75 000 spectateurs !
Ce record pourrait bien être battu cette année.

Vainqueur il y a trois semaines au Canada et sur le circuit de Lohéac l’an passé où il s’est
imposé avec brio, Timmy Hansen aura à cœur de poursuivre sur sa lancée.

Après une épreuve d’absence, la Peugeot Hansen Academy engagera à nouveau deux
PEUGEOT 208 WRX pour ses pilotes habituels : Davy Jeanney et Kevin Hansen.


« Lohéac représente un grand événement pour toute l’équipe. Et nous l’abordons avec beaucoup de
concentration. Nous avons bien figuré sur cette piste les deux dernières saisons et particulièrement l’an
dernier où Timmy l’avait emporté. Nous allons bien sûr tout faire pour rééditer cette performance. La
victoire acquise par Timmy au Canada, début août, nous donne confiance même si nous savons que la
concurrence est très relevée. Bien sûr courir en France nous met un peu plus de pression. Nous aurons
beaucoup de supporters mais c’est de la bonne pression ! »

« Disputer la manche française du championnat est forcément un rendez-vous assez spécial. En ce qui me
concerne, c’est l’une des rares fois de la saison où je vais courir sur un circuit que je connais déjà. Cela dit,
les autres pilotes sont tellement affûtés que cela ne devrait pas faire une grande différence. Je garde un
très bon souvenir de ma participation en 2013. J’avais alors découvert l’ambiance du Rallycross qui est
très populaire dans cette région. Je pense que les caractéristiques de la piste devraient plutôt convenir à
notre PEUGEOT 208 WRX et j’espère que nous serons performants devant notre public. »

« J’ai réalisé peut-être la plus belle finale de ma carrière au Canada il y a trois semaines. Aussi, j’arrive à
Lohéac dans un très bon état d’esprit d’autant que c’est une piste que j’ai toujours beaucoup aimée. Elle
est très spéciale. A l’instar des autres pistes, elle offre beaucoup de grip, ce que j’apprécie. Et puis, il règne
une ambiance unique. C’est un peu comme Le Mans. Ma victoire de l’an passé m’a vraiment laissé un
souvenir intense. »

A PROPOS DU RALLYCROSS
Les épreuves de rallycross se disputent sur des tracés mixtes, 60% terre et 40% asphalte. Ils sont longs
d’environ 1 kilomètre et parfois parsemés de sauts. Les pilotes sont progressivement éliminés au cours du
week-end et seuls les six compétiteurs les plus rapides et les plus téméraires ont la possibilité de se battre
pour la finale.

The PEUGEOT 208 WRXs ready
to pounce at home round!
With its win in Canada still fresh in everyone’s minds, Team Peugeot Hansen has switched its focus
to France’s round of the 2016 FIA World Rallycross Championship on September 3-4 with renewed
determination. Sébastien Loeb and Timmy Hansen are both ready to roar in their respective
PEUGEOT 208 WRXs to light up Lohéac.

Thanks to its success at Trois Rivières (Canada), Team Peugeot Hansen is now only 30 points
short of the lead in the provisional Teams’ standings. The French carmaker hopes that the
visit to its home venue and its appearance in front of home fans will allow it to close that gap
even further.

For once, Sébastien Loeb will be on known territory in Brittany since he contested the Lohéac
round of the European Rallycross Championship in 2013. His participation that year attracted a
record attendance for the discipline and the figure of 75,000 spectators might well be beaten
this time round.

Timmy Hansen will be out to build on the momentum of his victories in Canada three weeks
ago and at Lohéac this time last year.

After skipping a round, the Peugeot Hansen Academy returns with PEUGEOT 208 WRXs for
team regulars Davy Jeanney and Kevin Hansen.


“Lohéac is a big event for the entire team and we are totally focused on this important occasion. We’ve
gone well there these past two years, especially in 2015 when Timmy came first. We obviously intend to
do all we can to win there again. Timmy’s recent victory in Canada at the beginning of August was a big
confidence booster but we remain acutely aware of how competitive this championship is. Competing in
France adds to the pressure, too, but we see it as positive pressure because we will have plenty of
support!”

“The French round of the championship is obviously something special. For me, it will be one of the few
venues I already knew before the start of the season. Having said that, the other drivers are so sharp that I
don’t think it will make much of a difference. I have fond memories of my participation in 2013. It was my
first taste of rallycross which is an extremely popular sport in this part of France. I think the circuit’s profile
should suit the PEUGEOT 208 WRX and I hope we are competitive in front of our home crowd.”

“Canada three weeks ago was perhaps the best performance I have ever posted in a final, so I’m feeling
pumped up for Lohéac which is a circuit I have always enjoyed. It is quite special and, like many tracks,

My win at Lohéac last year was simply unforgettable.”
