Arsenault and music director Léona Perry. The dates for this year’s performance are Thursdays, July 22nd and 29th and August 5th, 12th and 26th. Tickets: $15.00 for adults and $8.00 for children 12 years and under (taxes included). An Acadian menu will be available during the evening. By reservation only. ANNUAL DEMOLITION DERBY The Annual Demolition Derby will be held on Sunday, July 18th at 1:30 p.m. at the Gallant Pit in Norway. Sponsored by the Tignish Fire Dept. Admission $5.00 per person. ST. FELIX GOLF & COUNTRY CLUB Golf Tournament in aid of the IWK Children’s Hospital on Sunday, July 18th with a shotgun start at 9:30 a.m. Lots of prizes including an autographed, framed photo of Mike Weir and a couple of taylor-made golf bags. The first 72 names accepted. Draws, 50/50, bbq. Sign up your team or as a single. YOUTH TALENT SHOWCASE - POSTPONED The Youth Showcase scheduled for Sunday, July 18th at the Heritage Property, Tignish, is postponed to a later date. It will now be held on Friday, August 13th with further information to come. Sorry for any inconvenience. FISHERMEN’S HAVEN PARK CELEBRATES, TIGNISH SHORE, PEI Our 2 Annual Festival in the park will be held on Sunday, July 25th from 2:00 to 6:00 p.m. Please bring a chair! Lots of great local entertainment, seafood, BBQ hot dogs & sausages, children’s activities, lottery, 50/50, nd Bingo (bring your markers), lighthouse gift shop and much more! Are you a beachcomber? Bring your favorite treasures to show off at our Treasure Table (they will be safely guarded!). Visit the museum located in the shelter with the theme of “Weddings of the past & present”. JUDE’S YOUTH GROUP FUNDRAISER VARIETY CONCERT on Sunday, July 25th - Please note change of date from July 18th to July 25th. The youth of our Parish will be fundraising to help pay for their bus to go to Steubenville Atlantic in Antigonish, N.S. Our Parish Centre will feature “St. Simon & St. Jude’s Got Talent” from 7:30 to 9:00 p.m. There will also be a fudge sale and a 50/50 draw. Admission is $7.00 for adults and $5.00 for students. TUESDAY TALK ON THE GEOLOGY OF THE EVANGELINE REGION The Tuesday Talk on the geology of the Evangeline Region will be held in French at the Acadian Museum in Miscouche on Tuesday, July 20th at 7:30 p.m. The geographer Dr. Samuel Arsenault will be the guest speaker. In his illustrated lecture, he will cover 300 million years of the history of the rocks and ice age of this part of the Island and explain how it came to have the type of soils and vegetation that it has today. Refreshments. Admission: free; donations appreciated. CAUSERIE DU MARDI SUR LA GÉOLOGIE DE LA RÉGION ÉVANGÉLINE La Causerie de mardi intitulée “Après 300 millions d’années, Évangéline (la région) est parée” aura lieu en français au Musée acadien à Miscouche, le mardi 20 juillet à 19h30. There will be lots of music and fun for all with common ball on Thursday and Friday, a Ceilidh on Friday night, a golf tournament, trivia and pub (Jimmy Sweeney & Jug in Hand from Nova Scotia) on Saturday, and an Irish breakfast and outdoor family concert on Sunday (Guinness, MacDonald Dances, Jug in Hand, fiddler Meghan McKeown and Jimmy Sweeney).
