Squadron spaghetti dinner and fun night for cadets, staff
and volunteers between 1830-2230 hrs at the Eastview
Legion, 294 Cyr Avenue, Vanier. Dress in red, white
and green. Bring a small wrapped gift (maximum value

14 DEC – RCAF MESS CHILDREN XMAS PARTY
Cadets required to help out with the craft section and
Christmas ornament making at the RCAF Mess
Children’s Party on Sun 14 Dec from 1030-1330 hrs at
the RCAF Mess, 158 Gloucester Street, Ottawa. Pizza
lunch included. Dress is appropriate civilian attire. You
are encouraged to wear something RED or GREEN.

Annual Cadet Commanding Officer for a Day Parade
where a Second year cadet, will act as the CO that
evening. Spectators and guests are requested to be
seated for 2025 hrs. Parade begins at 2030 hrs. Dress
is C-1 for cadets.

16 DÉC –PARADE DU CDT CMDT D’UN JOUR
Parade annuelle pour le cadet commandant d’un jour où un
cadet de deuxième année agira comme commandant durant
la soirée. Les invités sont priés d’être assis pour 2025 h. La
parade commence à 2030 h. Tenue C-1 pour les cadets.

TRAINING / INSTRUCTION
7 DEC - WREATHS ACROSS CANADA
This is the 4th year that Wreaths Across Canada will
continue its mission of placing a wreath on the
approximately 3000 headstones of every veteran buried
at the National Military Cemetery Beechwood.
Volunteer cadets will lay the first three rows of wreaths
during the opening ceremony, and then assist the public
in the placing of the remainder of the wreaths. There
will be a short opening ceremony starting at 1330 hrs
and the wreath laying will start at about 1410 hrs.
Cadets will need to be on-site by 1240 hrs and will be
finished no later than 1515 hrs. Dress will be C-1 with
parka for cadets and 1A with gabardine overcoat for
officers. It will likely be a cold day so all personnel must
dress accordingly; issue toques may be authorized,
depending on weather conditions, for wear after the
opening ceremony. OIC is Lt Broeders.
7 DÉC – DES COURONNES AU CANADA
C'est la quatrième année que Des couronnes au Canada
poursuivra sa mission de placer une couronne (gerbes de
fleurs) sur les quelques 3 000 stèles de chaque ancien
combattant enterré au Cimetière militaire national de
Beechwood. Les cadets volontaires déposeront les trois
premières rangées de couronnes au cours de la cérémonie
d'ouverture et ensuite aideront le public à déposer le reste
des couronnes. Il y aura une courte cérémonie d'ouverture
à partir de 1330 h et le dépôt des couronnes commencera à
environ 1410 h. Les cadets devront être sur place pour
1240 h et le tout sera terminé au plus tard à 1515 h. La
tenue sera C-1 avec le manteau toute-saison pour les
cadets et 1A avec pardessus gabardine pour les officiers. Il
fera probablement froid ce jour-là, donc tout le personnel
doit s'habiller en conséquence; les tuques pourront être
autorisées, selon les conditions météorologiques, après la
cérémonie d'ouverture. L’O Resp est le Lt Broeders.
ATTENDANCE REGISTER
All Cadets are reminded of the importance of indicating
they are in attendance during squadron activities.
Failure to advise Administration may result in an Absent
(No excuse) mention on your file and thus may affect an
application for summer courses. Cadets arriving after
1815 hrs are considered late and are to sign in on the
Late Arrival sheet at the Duty Personnel table at the
front of the museum.
REGISTRE DES PRÉSENCES
On rappelle aux cadets l'importance de signifier leur
présence lors des activités de l’escadron. Ne pas aviser
l’Administration peut entraîner une mention Absent (Sans
excuse) sur votre dossier qui peut affecter une demande
pour les cours estivaux. Les cadets qui se présentent après
1815 h sont considérés en retard et doivent s’enregistrer sur
la feuille des retardataires à la table du Personnel de service
à l’entrée du musée.
SUPPLY / APPROVISIONNEMENT
AWARDED BADGES
Cadets are reminded that any awarded badges and/or
insignia must be sewn on before the next training night.
All badges are to be sewn on the uniform, DO NOT use
glue of any kind or try to use a hot iron to melt the
badges on the tunic. It ruins the uniform and it has to be
thrown out. We cannot afford to replace uniforms
because of this.
INSIGNES REMIS
On rappelle aux cadets que tout insigne reçu doit être cousu
avant la prochaine soirée d’instruction. Tous les insignes
doivent être cousus sur l'uniforme, NE PAS utiliser de la
colle quelconque, ou essayez d'utiliser un fer chaud pour
faire fondre les insignes sur la tunique. Cela ruine l'uniforme
et il doit être jeté. Nous ne pouvons nous permettre de
remplacer les uniformes pour cette raison.

NAMETAGS
Cadets may purchase blue plastic nametags for $3.50
each (including applicable taxes). Please write your
name on the Nametag Request Form at the Canteen
table. Orders are placed at the beginning of every
month.
PLAQUETTE D’IDENTITÉ
Les cadets peuvent se procurer des plaquettes d’identité en
plastique bleue au prix de 3,50 $ (taxes comprises).
Inscrivez votre nom sur la feuille de Commande à la
Cantine. Les commandes sont placées au début de chaque
mois.

SQUADRON CANTEEN
On training nights cadets and staff have access to a
small canteen that is run by parent volunteers. Water,
juice, soft drinks, chocolate bars, etc. may be purchased
during breaks. Any profits are turned over to the
Sponsoring Committee which are used, along with other
funds, to run the squadron. Why not donate chocolate
bars, juices or soft drinks to the canteen which could
then be sold at profit to improve our overall funds for this
year?
CANTINE DE L’ESCADRON
Les soirs d’instruction les cadets ont accès à une petite
cantine gérée par des parents volontaires. On peut y
acheter de l’eau, des jus, des boissons gazeuses, des
barres de chocolat, etc. lors des périodes de pause. Tout
profit est remis au Comité répondant que l’on utilise, avec
d’autres moyens financiers, pour faire rouler l’escadron.
Pourquoi ne pas contribuer des barres de chocolat, du jus
ou des boissons gazeuses à la cantine qui pourrait ensuite
les revendre à profit afin d’améliorer notre montant total pour
l’année?
