From the Director
The third quarter will end on Friday, March 24. It is not unusual for us to feel like
the end of the school year is in “sight. Now is not the time for any of us to relax with a sense of relief or a belief we can “coast” to the end. Our hope is that there is a re-focusing of efforts and determination by everyone. Looking ahead, please be

AISB Mission:

 Friday, March 25 to Sunday, April 3 is the Spring Holiday.
 Friday, April 8 AISB will celebrate International Day. We hope to see everyone in attendance.
 Monday, April 11 third quarter report cards will be distributed.
 We encourage you to review the report with your child and stress the importance of working hard until the end of the year.
 Thursday, April 14 is Parent Conferences (see article in this Times). Please
use this opportunity to see how your child is progressing and support their continued efforts to learn.
As we concentrate on the final quarter of the school year, preparations for next year
move forward. There will be some very important events in the Month of April
when everyone returns from the holiday. We ask that you be looking for the following:

Mot du Directeur
Le 3eme Quart se termine ce vendredi 24 mars. Bien que nous ressentions déjà la fin de l’an-­
née ce n’est tout même pas le moment de dormir sur ses lauriers avec un faux sentiment de sécurité qui nous fait penser que nous arriverons à bon port de toute façon. Il convient plutôt pour chacun
de refocaliser ses efforts et d’être encore plus déterminé. Les évènements ci-dessous sont en vue,
prenez-en note :

Vendredi 25 mars a dimanche 3 avril : Congés de printemps
 Vendredi 8 avril l’AISB va célébrer l’International Day. Nous espérons vous y voir.  Lundi 11 avril distribution des bulletins du 3eme Quart. Nous vous encourageons à passer en revue le bulletin avec votre enfant et insister sur l’importance de travailler dur jusqu’à la fin de l’année.
 Jeudi 14 avril c’est les réunions des parents d’élèves (Voir l’article y consacré dans ce numéro). Veuillez saisir l’opportunité pour apprécier les progrès de votre enfant afin de soutenir ses efforts. Tandis que nous nous concentrons sur le dernier Quart de l’année, la préparation de l’année prochaine avance également. Par ailleurs il y aura des évènements assez importants au mois d’a-­
vril dès le retour des congés, notamment :

Marketing and advertising research tells us that our greatest asset is you, our
parents and guardians. Sharing with others how attending AISB provides a
special opportunity for students will be helpful. We have many areas of distinction worth sharing with perspective families:
 We are a school where ENGLISH is the language of instruction. Children who enter AISB will ultimately have greater options open to them due
to their proficiency in English.
 AISB emphasizes CRITICAL THINKING SKILLS. These information and processing
skills are imbedded in our instruction at all grade levels.
 Our SMALL CLASSES benefit our students by providing smaller group and individualized instruction.
 We consider TECHNOLOGY to be critical in the learning environment and to the future
success of our students. Smart boards, laptops and i-Pads are all part of instruction at
AISB.
 Our SERVICE LEARNING program will continue to grow. AISB believes sharing and
giving back is a critical part of a child’s education.
 Our EXTRA CURRICULAR ACTIVITIES provide learning opportunities not found or
emphasized in core classes. Students have the opportunity to participate in sports, performing arts and other skill / creative based activities.
Please pass the word. AISB is looking forward to next year being another great opportunity
for our students and we are accepting applications for the 2016-2017 school year. Interested

School Uniforms
In the 2016-2017 school year, the only top (over the uniform) will be AISB sweaters / sweatshirts. In the month
of April, more information will be coming about these
articles of clothing and how you can purchase them in
advance.

Les recherches en marketing et pub nous dissent que c’est vous notre plus grand atout, vous parents et tuteurs. Partager avec les familles de votre entourage comment l’AISB offre une réelle opportunité aux élèves sera d’une grande aide. Nous avons plusieurs domaines de distinction :
 Nous sommes une école ou l’ANGLAIS est la langue de formation. Les élèves qui arrivent à l’AISB auront sans aucun doute plus d’options qui s’ouvrent à eux à cause des aptitudes en langue anglaise.
 L’AISB met l’accent sur L ’EXERCICE DE L’ESPRIT CRITIQUE ; Ces compétences infor-
matives et méthodologiques imprègnent fortement tous les niveaux de formation
 et les méthodologies de travail en sont fortement imprégnées à tous les niveaux.
 Nos CLASSES A FAIBLE EFFECTIF sont à l’avantage de nos élèves dans la mesure où la for-­
mation se fait par petit groupe et est individualisée.
 Nous considérons que LA TECHNOLOGIE est un aspect essential dans l’environnement de for-­

Les uniformes scolaires
Pour l’année 2016-2017 les seuls vêtements (à mettre pardessus l’uniforme) sera le sweater / sweatshirt AISB. Au mois d’avril nous vous fournirons plus d’informations sur ces articles et comment vous en procu-­
rer.

3rd Quarter Parent Conferences
Third quarter parent conferences will be held on Thursday, April 14th. On this day, school will end and students
will leave campus at 12:00 Noon. Conferences will begin
at 1:00 (13:00) and continue through 7:00 pm (19:00). There will not be any after
school activities on the designated conference day. In the elementary school
some additional days and times for appointments have been necessary due to the
number of appointments required in the combination classes.
These parent conferences are important and we know they take time. We are
scheduling all elementary school parents for 20-minute appointments to enable
all of our parents to meet with the grade level teachers. The secondary school
teachers will hold conferences at individual desk/tables in the cafeteria. Signs
will be posted to indicate where the teachers are located. You may come at any
time during the conference times to meet with your student’s teachers. There will not be any specific appointments for the secondary school parents. Specialists in Physical Education, Music, Art, French and ELL will be available to meet
with you on the same afternoon on a first come first serve basis. They will be located in the secondary Science classroom.
It is important for parents to meet with the classroom teacher’s to discuss specif-­
ics regarding your child’s academic progress. Parent participation is appreciated and valued. The AISB staff are looking forward to continuing to work closely
with the parent community.
School wide MAP Testing
MAP Testing are scheduled to be given to all students in
grades 3—9 in May.
More information will be coming home soon.

Les réunions de parents du 3eme Quart
Les réunions de parents du 3eme Quart vont se tenir jeudi
14 avril. Pour l’occasion il n’y aura pas d’After School Activities et les élèves quitteront donc le campus à 12h.
Les rencontres commenceront à 13h et se prolongeront jusqu’à 19h. Au niveau de l’Elementary School des jours et du temps supplémentaires ont été ajoutés en raison du nombre important de rendez-vous pour les classes combinées. Vu le nombre de rendez-vous prévus, nous avons octroyé à chaque parent
des plages de 20 minutes pour permettre à tous nos parents de rencontrer le professeur principal. Nous espérons que la période choisie convienne. Si ce n’est pas le cas, veuillez contacter Ms Timo, la Community Relations Officer au bureau le
plus tôt possible pour convenir d’une autre période.
Des bureaux/tables individuels ont été prévus à la cantine pour permettre aux parents du Secondary School de rencontrer les professeurs du cycle. Des orientations pratiques seront affichées. Dans le cas du Secondary School il n y a pas
d’heure précise de rendez-vous individuel donc vous pouvez venir au temps qui
vous convient. Les professeurs des spécialités Physical Education, Music, Art,
French and ELL seront également disponibles pour vous rencontrer ce même
après-midi dans la salle de Science. Lesdites rencontres se feront suivant le principe du premier arrivé-premier servi.
Vu l’importance de ces rencontres la présence de chaque parent est vivement souhaitée car c’est l’occasion de discuter du travail académique spécifique de l’élève.
