Corsair international and optiontown
have launched on April 12th of this
year the upgrade travel option.
It consists of providing
to
customers which have booked
ticket in economy class the chance
to be upgraded to the executive ,as
far as there would be available
seats, for a price rate sharply more
advantageous
than
a
classic
upgrade.
Optiontown is an American start-up
created by mathematicians from Corsair International is the first French company to
MIT(MASSACHUSETTS INSTITUTE offer the upgrade option
OF
TECHNOLOGY) of Boston,
specialized in the optimization of the recipe and already proposes the optional
upgrade with SAS, Air Canada, Aeromexico, AirAsia, etc. the Other formula
launched by Optiontown is optional empty seat which allows the passenger to get
one or two Empty Seats next to their seats at a nominal price. Corsair International
is the first French company to lean on Optiontown.
During the purchase of its ticket in horizon class (the economy class of corsair
international), every customer is proposed by email an option to upgrade his
journey at a price of 3 ?. therefore he is eligible to be upgraded at a nominal price
which is up to 75% discount to the fare difference between the initial prices. Forty
eight hours before departure, the customer will be informed about its upgrade
status to the grand large. If the upgrade is not available, the upgrade price will be
refund within 5 working days from the departure.
This offer is applied firstly to the customers which have purchased the ticket directly
either from the airline or via the wed site, then will be widened to the customers of
travel agencies and partner tour operator of the airline.
For corsair, the recipe is higher even with a sold out seat in grand large class
relatively to the empty place. Furthermore, the system free de facto a seat in
horizon class. B.747-400 and Airbus A300-200 contain respectively 24 and 28 seat
in grand large. The compagny of the group TUI already had a less sophisticated offer
of last minute, which was taking place during the check-in in the airport.

qu’un surclassement classique.
Optiontown,
une
startup
américaine
créée
par
des
mathématiciens sortis du MIT de Corsair International est la première compagnie
Boston, s’est spécialisée dans française à proposer le surclassement en option
l’optimisation de la recette et
propose déjà le surclassement en option à SAS, Air Canada, Aeromexico, AirAsia,
etc. Autre formule lancée par Optiontown, le siège vide en option permet de
disposer d’un siège libre à côté de soi à prix attractif. Corsair International est la
première compagnie française à s’adosser à Optiontown.
Lors de l’achat de son billet en classe Horizon, la classe économique de Corsair
International, chaque client se voit proposer, par mail, une option de surclassement
au prix de 3 ?. Il bénéficie ainsi d’une réduction du coût du surclassement pouvant
aller jusqu’à 75 % par rapport au tarif initial. Quarante-huit heures avant le départ
du vol et en fonction des places disponibles, les clients ayant acheté l’option savent
s’ils peuvent bénéficier du surclassement en classe Grand Large. Dans le cas où le
surclassement n’est pas possible, le prix du surclassement est remboursé au client
dans les cinq jours par Optiontown.
Cette nouvelle offre s’applique dans un premier temps aux clients ayant acheté leur
billet directement auprès de la compagnie ou via le site Internet, puis sera élargie
aux clients des agences de voyage et tours opérateurs partenaires de la compagnie.
Pour Corsair, la recette est supérieure même avec un siège Grand Large soldé par
rapport à une place vide. De plus, le système dégage de fait un siège en classe
Horizon. Les B.747-400 et les Airbus A330-200 de Corsair comptent respectivement
24 et 18 sièges Grand Large. La compagnie du groupe TUI disposait déjà d’une
solution moins sophistiquée d’offre de dernière minute, qui n’intervenait qu’au
moment de l’enregistrement à l’aéroport
