5 day course to climb Mont-Blanc
By the 3 Mont-Blanc route
4 days 1 guide – 1 client
3 training days in high altitude, 2 days climbing the highest European summit.
Program
Day 1 : Technical learning on a glacier.
Technical lesson on Mer de Glace glacier about the use of crampons, walking while roped up and elementary
knots. A group activity, gathering all the participants of the week.
Day 1 : 1 guide for maximum 6 participants.
From the second day : A private guide for 1 participant during 4 days.
Day 2 : Snow and ice hiking in high altitude.
We will test you using the technics learnt on day 1 on the high mountain terrain, over an altitude of 3500 m.
High altitude hiking examples: Traversée de la Vallée Blanche, Arête des cosmiques, Aiguille d’Entrèves….
Day 3 : Snow and ice hiking in high altitude
Day 4 : Departure for Mont-Blanc climbing. Hiking to the Cosmiques hut.

From the Cable car of the Aiguille du Midi (3842 m) a short hiking with crampons to reach the
Cosmiques hut (3613m), about 1 hour.

Day 5 : Mont-Blanc climbing. From the hut to the top and back.

Mont Blanc du Tacul shoulder (4100 m) then shoulder of the Mont Maudit (4280 m), Brenva pass and Mont
Blanc summit (4810 m) : 6 to 8 hours.
Return route via the same way or via Aiguille du Goûter (3819 m) depending on snow and glacier conditions
This program can be changed depending on weather and mountain conditions, or technical level of the
participants. We can propose to you the ascent of a different glacier summit, per example Gran Paradiso in
Italy. (2 days - overnight at Victor Emmanuel hut)

Additional information
PHYSICAL LEVEL :
The participant must have a very good physical level: Mont-Blanc climbing has to be prepared months ago with
a regular training to get a good stamina. (Running, cycling, hiking…)
TECHNICAL LEVEL:
HIKING EXPERIENCE WITH CRAMPONS: Before climbing Mont-Blanc it is necessary to be able to hike with
crampons in high altitude. We will teach you the techniques on the 3 first days of the course.
GUIDING POLICY
1 guide for maximum 6 participants on day 1.
1 private guide for maximum 2 participants on the 4 last days.
Our guiding policy is very strict and specific to the Chamonix Guide’s Company.
ACCOMODATION
1 night at the Cosmiques hut. Dormitories.
MEALS
Picnic lunch every day.
Days 4 and 5 while climbing Mont-Blanc you will have dinner, sleeping and breakfast at the hut.
Water is not included in the mountain hut, please take some euros for your drinks.
EQUIPMENT
The necessary equipment list is here attached.
You can rent the technical equipment : high mountain boots, crampons, ice axe, harness, and helmet .
DOCUMENTATION
ID or valid passport.
Having a repatriation insurance is mandatory. Cancellation insurance is highly recommended.
We provide optional insurance contracts for repatriation and trip cancellation (see booking form).
DATES
Courses are beginning every Monday to Friday and Thursday to Monday from June 06th to september 19th, 2013.
MEETING
Meeting on day 1st at our office at 8h30 AM, 190 place de l’Eglise in Chamonix.
PRICE 2016 : 2065 € per person.

NOT INCLUDING:
-Equipment rental
-Accommodation in Chamonix every evening on the 3 first days.
OPTION :
Overnight at the Cosmiques hut for a better acclimatization on day 2 :

Warm pair of pants,
Warm Goretex jacket with a hood,
Several polar fleece
Technical underwears
Quality gloves and or mits,

Backpack ( 40 liters)
Altitude sunglasses and goggles.
Water bottle.
Headlamp, sunscreen lotion.
Cotton or silk sleeping bag for the hut, ( they have blankets).
