Basic Requirements
• Bachelor degree in Science or Engineering with 5
years experience in Radiation Safety, OR;
• Certification by the Canadian Association of Medical
Radiation Technologist (CAMRT) with 5 years
experience in Radiation Safety, OR;
• Relevant certification in a radiation therapy or
radiation safety technician or nuclear medicine or
diagnostic imaging environment with 5 years
experience in Radiation Safety, OR;
• Relevant certification as laboratory technician with 5
years experience in Radiation Safety;
• Direct experience in enforcing radiation safety,
monitoring and handling radioactive material or
devices;
• Previous experience as an Assistant Radiation Safety
Officer, or working in a radiation safety office;
• Good knowledge of CNSC act and regulations;
• Good knowledge of MOL regulations;
• Experience working in a large hospital or research
environment;
• Knowledge of hospital policies, procedures and
structure;
• Experience in teaching or training;
• Experience working with people and in a team
environment;
• Intermediate level in Microsoft Word, Excel, Power
Point and Access;
• Excellent judgement, diplomacy and interpersonal
skills;
• Good problem solving, observation and written and
oral communication skills;
• Ability to pay critical attention to detail and to work as
a team player;
• Reliable to ensure tasks assigned are completed as
directed.
Exigences fondamentales
• Baccalauréat en sciences ou en ingénierie avec cinq
années d'expérience en radioprotection, OU;
• Accréditation de l'Association canadienne des techniciens
en radiation médicale (ACTRM) et cinq années
d'expérience en radioprotection, OU;
• Accréditation pertinente en radiothérapy ou technician en
radioprotection ou dans un milieu de médecine nucléaire,
ou imagerie médicale avec cinq années d'expérience en
radioprotection, OU;
• Accréditation pertinente comme technicien de laboratoire
avec cinq années d'expérience en radioprotection;
• Expérience directe en application de la radioprotection, en
surveillance et manutention de matières ou machines
radioactives;
• Expérience antérieure en tant qu'adjoint(e) à l'agent d'un
bureau de radioprotection ou expérience pertinente dans
un bureau de radioprotection;
• Bonne connaissance de la loi et des règlements de la
CCSN;
• Bonne connaissance des réglements de MDT;
• Expérience de travail dans un grand établissement
hospitalier ou un environnement de recherche;
• Connaissance des politiques, des procédures et de la
structure du milieu hospitalier;
• Expérience en enseignement ou en formation;
• Expérience de travail auprès des gens, au sein d'une
équipe;
• Niveau intermédiaire en Microsoft Word, Excel, Power
Point et Access;
• Excellents jugement, diplomatie et aptitudes en relations
interpersonnelles;
• Compétence en résolution de problèmes, en observation
et en communication écrite et orale;
• Aptitude à accorder une attention très particulière au détail
et au travail à titre de membre d'une équipe;
• Fiable, c'est-à-dire capable de mener à bien les tâches, tel
que demandé.
Preferred Qualifications
• Membership with the Canadian Radiation Protection
Association;
• Current registration with the College of Medical
Radiation Technologist of Ontario (CMRTO) (if a
nuclear medicine technologist);
• Laser safety knowledge and experience.
Qualifications souhaitables
