BOOK SIGNING Prominent Acadian folklorist and historian Georges Arsenault will be on hand at the Tignish Co-op on Friday, March 13th from 1:00 p.m. to 3:00 p.m. He will be signing copies of his book Acadian Mi-Carême: Masks and Merrymaking. This is the English translation of his award-winning book, La Mi-Carême en Acadie. All are invited to attend. ACCEPTING NOMINATIONS FOR GILBERT BUOTE AWARD The Sister Antoinette DesRoches Historical Committee will accept nominations from the public for the Gilbert Buote Award. This Award serves to recognize outstanding projects in the field of Acadian history and heritage on Prince Edward Island. The projects submitted for the Award must have been completed in 2008. PATRICK’S DAY IN TIGNISH The Tignish Irish Folk Festival and the Tignish Recreation Department is planning a full day of fun and music on Tuesday, March 17th to celebrate St. Patrick’s Day. Events will take place at the Legion and will include children’s activities from 11:00 a.m. to 3:00 p.m., then from 4:00 p.m. until midnight “A Night of Mayhem” will include Irish stew, a presentation by Irish author Fred Rogers (about his life growing up in Ireland), Irish Trivia, Irish Open Mic (bring along your voices and/or instruments) and an Irish pub with “Cork”. Put on your green and join in the fun! È È È TIGNISH HEALTH CENTRE There will be a PAP Clinic on Wednesday, April 29th at the Tignish Health Centre sponsored by the Cornwall PAP Clinic.
