countries so far, and has published 50 books for teachers,

pupils in each lesson, for 26 weeks a year, telling traditional

Le Chinois est aujourd'hui la seule langue dont
l'écriture peint le sens et non le son. Il est
difficile de prendre immédiatement toute la
mesure d'une telle assertion. Qu'est-ce qu'une
écriture où la compréhension passe par la vision
et non par l'audition ? Comment épeler quand il
n'y a pas de lettres? Qu'est-ce qu'être
analphabète quand il n'y a pas d'alphabet? Que
peut signifier "savoir lire" une écriture dont le
nombre de signes se compte en milliers, voire
en dizaines de milliers ?
L'écriture n'étant pas une connaissance parmi
d'autres, certains aspects de l'univers culturel
chinois peuvent se déduire en partie de la
nature même de ce système graphique, qui a pu
être en Asie une sorte "d'espéranto pour les
yeux". La neurologie contemporaine suggère
même l'idée d'une mobilisation particulière du
cerveau dans l'usage des caractères chinois, la
reconnaissance de ces derniers faisant appel
aux aptitudes de l'hémisphère droit dans la
reconnaissance des formes, le traitement et la
mise en mémoire des images. En un mot, quelle
empreinte une telle langue peut-elle laisser sur
l'approche du monde de ceux qui la parlent et
l'écrivent ?

In this workshop I shall demonstrate how to
teach a very short Hemingway story, which is
valuable from a literary standpoint, as well as
for its vocabulary, simplicity of language and
cultural insights. In addition to doing an
analysis of point of view, character, social
attitudes, metaphor and irony, participants
will use drama techniques to deepen their
appreciation of the story and will subsequently
view two cinematic adaptations of it, which
they will compare to the story. Participants
will also look at excerpts from a strikingly
similar story by David Foster Wallace, a 21st
century writer, to enhance their understanding
of the original Hemingway version.

- relation entre l’acquistion des compétences linguistiques vs.
l’acquisition des compétences dites professionnelles
- importance de la sensibilité (compétence) interculturelle
- une autre langue = une autre culture d’enseignement ?
- de quel profil devrait-on disposer après une formation bilingue
au niveau tertiaire ?

Appelle zur Relevanz und Unerlässlichkeit einer Mehrsprachigkeitsdidaktik im Bereich des (schulischen) Fremdsprachenlernens geniessen aktuell Hochkonjunktur. Kritische Stimmen verstummen schnell in der heutigen Zeit, in der gesellschaftliche und geographische Mobilität sowie
Multikulturalität nicht mehr wegzudenken sind Die Studien an der HEPVS/PH-VS, einem Steckenpferd für bilinguale Ausbildung im Kanton
Wallis, sehen für alle Studierenden einen obligatorischen zweisemestrigen Austausch im anderen Kantonsteil vor. Vor diesem Hintergrund
möchte dieses Atelier nicht nur positive Erfahrungen damit präsentieren, sondern lässt auch kritische Stimmen zu Worte kommen und hinterfragt selbstverständliche Konzepte.
