Atelier Ocean Smart - La connaissance du milieu marin et l’exploitation des hydrocarbures :
apprentissages et meilleures pratiques environnementales
L’atelier Ocean Smart abordera les meilleures pratiques en matière d’observation océanique dans un contexte de
stratégie d’exploration et d’exploitation des hydrocarbures en environnement marin. Les participants y étudieront
certaines expériences internationales dans le but d’identifier ou de définir quels seraient les plus hauts standards
d’évaluation et de suivis environnementaux applicables au Québec dans ce secteur. Cette approche novatrice et
proactive permettra d’amorcer une réflexion stratégique afin de positionner les standards scientifiques et
technologiques en amont du processus décisionnel de développement offshore.
Ocean Smart Workshop - Marine environment knowledge and offshore production: learnings and best
practices
The Ocean Smart Workshop will address best practices in ocean observation in the context of a strategy for
offshore oil and gas exploration and production. The delegates will study some international experiences in order
to identify and/or define the higher standards for environmental assessment and monitoring applicable in
Québec, in this sector of activities. This innovative and proactive approach will serve as a starting point for
strategic reflection to position scientific and technological standards upstream of the decision-making process for
offshore development.
