REISA - East Island Network for English Language Services
REISA, a non-profit community organization, works to increase access to
health and social services in English for residents of Montreal’s East End,
through collaboration with public, private and community stakeholders.
Established in 2005, REISA has assisted partnership development in three
main areas: expansion of local-level services, outreach to new services and
community capacity-building.
Keeping the English-speaking communities’ needs in mind, we have identified
four priority development sectors: Youth, Seniors, Special Needs and Mental
Health. By working towards achieving these priorities, REISA will strengthen
and improve the vitality of the English-speaking minority community in the
East end of Montreal.
REISA promotes and supports the training and retention of health and social
service professionals in the east end of Montréal to ensure that Englishspeaking minority communities in Montréal’s East End have access to services
in their own language.

The Children’s Aid Society of the United Counties
The Children’s Aid Society of Stormont, Dundas and Glengarry (SDG) protects
children from abuse and neglect and helps parents and caregivers build
healthy families. We work with families who may be facing situations such
as poverty, unemployment or family violence. We also help families dealing
with mental health issues or caring for a child who has serious physical,
emotional or developmental difficulties. Often though, families just need
parenting support to learn new and more useful skills to resolve the identified
areas of concern. Working together with families can often stop or change
circumstances that may lead to a child being abused or neglected. If your
family needs help, please contact us before problems escalate. Developing
more positive and effective parenting skills will improve your family
circumstances. The best way to deal with child abuse and neglect is to prevent
it.
