Après deux podiums consécutifs, les pilotes des PEUGEOT 208 WRX tenteront les 11 et 12 juin de
poursuivre cette série en Norvège, lors de la cinquième manche du Championnat du Monde FIA de
Rallycross.

Actuellement deuxième au classement par équipe, le Team Peugeot Hansen est déterminé à revenir
sur l’actuel leader du championnat afin de défendre farouchement son titre mondial. Face à une
concurrence très relevée, Sébastien Loeb tentera d’intégrer le Top 3 alors que Timmy Hansen espère
bien confirmer le bond réalisé à Lydden Hill. Passé de la douzième à la septième place, le vicechampion du monde entend bien ne pas s’arrêter là !

Parallèlement au Team Peugeot Hansen, la Peugeot Hansen Academy alignera deux PEUGEOT 208
WRX à Hell : l’une pour Davy Jeanney, #17, en Championnat du Monde et l’autre pour Kevin Hansen
en Championnat d’Europe, #71. Vainqueur de la manche inaugurale à Mettet (Belgique), ce dernier est
l’actuel leader de cette compétition avant cette deuxième épreuve.


« Nous gardons un excellent souvenir de notre participation à la course de Hell, l’an passé, puisque nous avions
signé le doublé. C’était la première fois qu’une équipe réalisait un tel exploit dans le cadre du Championnat du
Monde. C’est bon de revenir sur cette piste que nous connaissons bien et pour laquelle nous avons des réglages
particuliers. Bien sûr, le contexte est différent cette année. La concurrence est encore plus vive mais nous avons
de bons atouts à faire valoir. »

« J’aborde la course de Hell dans le même état d’esprit que les autres avec l’objectif de bien faire même s’il va me
falloir découvrir cette piste. Elle a l’air assez atypique, dans un bel endroit, avec un beau paysage. Le circuit
semble très vallonné avec des virages serrés et des relances. Ce tracé technique allait plutôt bien à nos voitures la
saison dernière donc j’espère que nous serons dans le coup cette année. »
Timmy Hansen (PEUGEOT 208 WRX n°21)
« Le circuit est tracé dans les montagnes norvégiennes. Il y a du relief avec beaucoup de différence entre le point
le plus haut et le plus bas du circuit. Au fur et à mesure du week-end la terre a tendance à laisser place à du
bitume sur certaines portions. C’est une piste assez serrée et tortueuse, avec des épingles où il faut pouvoir
freiner tard et faire tourner la voiture de manière vive. C’est une piste assez piégeuse où il est difficile de
dépasser. Au volant d’une Supercar, il faut vraiment se donner à fond. Je suis impatient de revenir à Hell. »

A PROPOS DU RALLYCROSS
Les épreuves de rallycross se disputent sur des tracés mixtes, 60% terre et 40% asphalte. Ils sont longs d’environ
1 kilomètre et parfois parsemés de sauts. Les pilotes sont progressivement éliminés au cours du week-end et
seuls les six compétiteurs les plus rapides et les plus téméraires ont la possibilité de se battre pour la finale.

A trip to Hell for PEUGEOT 208
WRX drivers Sébastien Loeb and
Timmy Hansen
After notching up back-to-back podium finishes at Mettet and Lydden Hill, the PEUGEOT 208 WRX
drivers head for Norway for Round 5 of the 2016 FIA World Rallycross Championship on June 11-12.

Team Peugeot Hansen currently holds second place in the Teams’ standings and is determined to
close the gap to the provisional leader in order to defend its 2015 crown. Sébastien Loeb will be out to
ward off the probable fierce competition to claim another top-three finish, while Timmy Hansen
hopes to keep the momentum going after his recent strong performance at Lydden Hill. The 2015
th
championship’s runner-up has leapt from 12 to seventh place in the Drivers’ classification and he has
every intention of moving further up the order!

Meanwhile, the Peugeot Hansen Academy will have two PEUGEOT 208 WRXs at Hell, one for Davy
Jeanney (#17) and another for Kevin Hansen (#71) who will take part in the European Championship
event. The latter won the opening WorldRX heat at Mettet, Belgium, recently and he tops the
provisional ERX standings going into the competition’s second round.


“We have excellent memories of our trip to Hell last year because we came first and second there. It was our
first one-two finish at world level. It’s good to be going back. We know the track well and we’ve got a specific
set-up for it. The context is naturally different this year because the competition promises to be even fiercer
but I think we’ve got some strong cards to play.”

“My approach to Hell will be the same as it has been all year so far. My aim is to do well, even though the
circuit is completely new to me. It appears to be different to those I have seen so far and it sits in a nice,
picturesque setting. It seems quite hilly, with some tight turns and places that call for hard acceleration. It’s a
technically demanding course which clearly suited the Peugeot 208 WRX last year, so I hope we will be
competitive again this time round.”
Timmy Hansen (N°21 PEUGEOT 208 WRX)
“This circuit is in the middle of the Norwegian mountains, so it is quite hilly, with a big altitude difference
between its highest and lowest points. As the weekend progresses, the dirt tends to get swept aside and
patches of asphalt start to appear in places. It’s quite a tight and twisty track, with some hairpins where you
have to brake late. You need an agile car which turns easily. It’s a fairly tricky place and it isn’t easy to
overtake. In these Supercars, you really need to give it everything you’ve got. I can’t wait to get there.”

Rallycross events use mixed-surface dirt/asphalt circuits of about one kilometre in length
and can feature one or more jumps. The drivers are knocked out as the weekend
progresses and only the six fastest and bravest of them get to contest the final.
