BACKGROUND:
After competing for two seasons with Team Monaco, two-time Olympic medallist
Lascelles Brown will be back in Canadian colours this season competing on Team
Rush.
Lascelles and Lyndon Rush have had a great deal of success together where he
helped push the Canada 1 four-man sled to a bronze medal at the 2010 Olympic
Winter Games.
Brown may have one of the best feel-good stories of the 2006 Winter Games where
he made his Olympic debut for Canada. Two weeks before heading to Torino,
Lascelles, from Jamaica, received his citizenship and was able to slide with Pierre
Lueders where they went on to win an Olympic silver medal in two-man bobsleigh.
Lascelles helped Pierre and Lyndon win multiple World Cup medals, World
Championship medals along with their Olympic triumphs at the 2006 and 2010
Games.
Considered one of the most powerful brakemen in the sport, Lascelles moved to
Canada permanently in 2002 and was a member of the Jamaican Bobsleigh Team
from 1999 to 2004. He set a start record for Jamaica of 4.78 seconds at the 2002
Olympic Winter Games in Salt Lake City.

Seulement deux semaines avant de partir pour Torino, Lascelles, originaire de
Jamaïque, a reçu sa citoyenneté canadienne et a pu glisser avec Pierre Lueders vers
une médaille d’argent olympique en bobsleigh à deux. Lascelles a aidé Pierre et
Lyndon à gagner plusieurs médailles de Coupe du Monde et de Championnat du
Monde, ainsi que leurs podiums aux Jeux Olympiques de 2006 et de 2010.
Considéré comme l’un des freins les plus puissants dans le sport, Lascelles est
arrivé au Canada en 2002; il était membre de l’équipe jamaïquaine de bobsleigh de
1999 à 2004. Il a établi un record de départ de 4,78 secondes pour la Jamaïque aux
Jeux Olympiques d’hiver 2002 à Salt Lake City.
