qu’à tous ceux qui se sont investis dans la 3éme édition de
la ‘QubicaAMF Bowling Promotion Cup’.
Welcome to everybody (bowlers, spectators, partners) for
this exceptional event: The 3rd edition of ‘QubicaAMF
Bowling Promotion Cup’.
En France, même si plus de trois millions de personnes de
tous âges fréquentent occasionnellement, pour leurs loisirs,
les 340 centres de bowling et leurs 5.000 pistes, le bowling
est loin de ses records américains ou asiatiques.
In France, even if more than three million persons of any
ages frequent occasionally, for their leisure activities, 340
centers of tenpin bowling and their 5.000 lanes, the tenpin
bowling is far from its American or Asian records.
Le bowling, reconnu comme sport Olympique, mais hélas
pas comme discipline, reste en France, un sport très
confidentiel avec ses 13.000 licenciés, ses Championnats et
ses Tournois, peu tournés vers l’extérieur.
The tenpin bowling, recognized as Olympic sport, but
regrettably not as discipline, stays in France, a very
confidential sport with his 13.000 members, its
Tournaments, little turned to the outside.
Il est donc important de reconnaitre les efforts prodigués par
Bruno Bidone, Président de Bowling Promotion et de le
féliciter pour avoir mis en place pour la troisième année
consécutive, une compétition regroupant quelques uns des
meilleurs joueurs européens représentant pour le moment 6
nations. Pour le moment, car les buts sont ambitieux avec
en représentation future la plupart des nations européennes
ou le bowling compte, ainsi que l’organisation en parallèle,
dès 2013, de l’Open de Bowling de Monaco.
The tournament could not take place without the hard work
and enthusiasm of Bruno Bidone, Managing / President of
Bowling Promotion Association. For this 3rd edition, the
event continue to grow with 6 nations (including the best
European players). Also in conjunction of this European
competition, we are in preparation of several projects, in
particular the 2013 Monaco Open (Ni-Box Monte-Carlo) in
order to attract more medias attention, prize funds, bowlers
and global audience.
Impossible de créer un tel événement sportif sans aides
extérieures et nous remercions vivement Messieurs Alain
Hunault, Maire de Châteaubriant, Pierre Méhaignerie, Maire
de Vitré ainsi que la Commission Sportive du Conseil
Général de Loire Atlantique et les Régions de Bretagne et

FORMAT DE LA CUP / RULES OF THE CUP
Cette compétition internationale se déroule en 4 phases.
Deux étapes en individuel (Vitré et le Masters à Rennes
Cap Malo) et deux étapes en Baker System (Châteaubriant
Double & le Challenge en Equipe).
This international event include 4 stages. 2 tournaments
(Singles event – Vitré and Rennes Cap Malo) and 2
tournaments use the baker system format (Doubles and
Team Challenge - Châteaubriant).
Format Baker System :
Dans le format Baker-System, les membres de chaque
équipe, jouent successivement et dans l’ordre prédéterminé une frame entière, de manière à jouer une partie
complète, excepté le dernier joueur qui complète la frame
10 et joue les boules supplémentaires s’il y a lieu. Ce format
est très dynamique notamment pour les épreuves
télévisées.
What is The Baker Format?
In a Baker Format game, you and your teammates will bowl
toward one score. That is, rather than a typical league
format in which you and your teammates each bowl
10 frames and your team score is the sum of each individual
score, your entire team will combine to bowl 10 frames in a
Baker match. This format is very dynamic in particular for
the TV Final.

ZOOM SUR LES JOUEURS / PLAYERS BIOS
Cette année, nous avons trois nouveaux joueurs avec Peter
Knopp pour l’Allemagne, Jonathan Lefevre pour la France
ainsi que Mike Quarry (Angleterre).
This year, we have three new bowlers with Peter Knopp
(Germany) and Jonathan Lefevre (France) as well as Mike
Quarry (England).
Les 6 autres joueurs sont tous membre de leur équipe
Nationale (Angleterre, Russie, Monaco, Pays Bas) et ont
gagné plusieurs titres internationaux. Le plateau est très
relevé notamment avec Matt Miller (à gauche) qui avait brillé
lors de la dernière finale mondiale de la Coupe du Monde
QubicaAMF à Toulon en 2010.
The other six players are member of their national team
(England, Russia, Monaco, Netherlands) with several
international titles (European Bowling Tour Tournament
EBT). The level of the 2012 edition is very top with Matt
Miller (left) finishing 2th during the last Bowling World Cup
bowled in France (Toulon).
Parmi les joueurs en lice, le jeune néerlandais Phil Hulst (à
droite lors de la première édition de la QBPC) a déjà
remporté une fois cette épreuve en 2010 (en simple) et une
autre en 2011 (en double). Il sera également redoutable.
Among the players in the QBPC listing, the young Dutch Phil
Hulst (right at the first edition of the QBPC) has already twice
won this event in 2010 (in singles) and in 2011 (in doubles)
will be also dangerous.
