The school year is drawing to an end and as we
farewell our Year 10 students next week staff
are in the midst of finalizing assessment and
preparing reports. The final day for Year 10
students is Wednesday 3rd December. The final
day for all other students is Wednesday 17th
December. Reports for both Primary and
Secondary students will be distributed on
Friday 12th December. The final day for Year 10
will include a special breakfast for students,
the annual Year 10 Concert and finish with a
BBQ at Manuka Pool. The Year 10 Graduation
Ceremony is on Friday 5th December in the
School Hall from 9am.

Visit by François Hollande, President of the Republic of France
By Wednesday, the 19th November, everybody was aware of the impending and historic visit of the French President. Roads
were closed, 1200 students and 200 guests were waiting patiently and the school was immaculately presented. His time in the
school was meticulously planned by our whole school as a team. I would like to thank everyone for their involvement and
contributions. In particular, the leadership and organisation of Emmanuel Texier and Kerrie Blain, the teachers, and the
administration team, ably led by Mary Ryan, the school’s Business Manager. Everyone was keenly aware of the historic
importance of this visit, which in turn demonstrated the close nature of our school community. On the day, the students, as
described in the media, were fantastic. They waited calmly and eventually the President and a large group of distinguished
guests arrived and Telopea was suddenly on the World stage.
The President visited a Year 2 class and answered questions from the students there. Afterwards, he visited a group of Year 10
students in the library. They discussed their common project within the AEFE Asia-Pacific Network about “The role of Oceania
during the First World War”. David Fricker, the Director-General of the National Archives of Australia, was also present, as they
are also providing support for this project.

Student Selections Online: Years 7 - 9
Thank you to our Year 7 – 9 students and parents who are making their subject choice selections using our new online process
this year. We understand there have been some difficulties and appreciate your patience and persistence. Please note that as in
previous years, the process registers choices and preferences of students and classes will be finalised at a later date using this
information. There is more information on the school website. Students need to complete their preferences by Friday 5 th
December.
Chief Minister’s Reading Challenge and our Debating Team
Telopea Park School students in Primary and Secondary were invited to a ceremony at the National Gallery where they were
awarded a prize by the Chief Minister. Our Primary students regularly win prizes for their amazing 100% participation, but this
year Telopea Park students in years 7 and 8 also won their whole section! Meanwhile, our Telopea 1 debating team won the Ford
Grand finals last Saturday. A wonderful achievement and the first time we have won this category in debating.
We have a number of upcoming events at this busy time of year. Your participation is always encouraged and appreciated and
reminds our students of the ongoing partnerships between teacher and parents. Events include:





Retirement of Kate Sutherland
I would like to acknowledge and thank Kate Sutherland for her leadership at Telopea Park School during her time here. Kate has
contributed significantly to public education in various positions throughout Canberra but especially at Telopea Park School. We
are holding a Farewell Afternoon Tea on Wednesday 10 December from 3.30 pm to 5.30pm at the school. Please RSVP on (02)

NOTES DU PRINCIPAL ADJOINT
L’année scolaire se termine bientôt. Nous dirons au revoir à nos élèves de Year 10 la semaine prochaine, et les professeurs sont,
eux, en train de terminer les évaluations et de rédiger les bulletins. Le dernier jour de cours pour les élèves de Year 10 sera le
mercredi 3 décembre, et le mercredi 17 décembre pour tous les autres élèves de l’école. Les bulletins du Primaire et du
Secondaire seront remis aux élèves le vendredi 12 décembre. Le dernier jour, les élèves de Year 10 participeront à un petit
déjeuner organisé spécialement pour eux, assisteront au concert annuel des Year 10 et finiront la journée par un Barbecue à la
piscine de Manuka. La cérémonie de remise des diplômes des Year 10 aura lieu dans le Hall de l’école le vendredi 5 décembre à
partir de 9H00.
Visite de François Hollande, Président de la République française
En ce mercredi 19 novembre, tout le monde a bien eu conscience de l’importance de la visite historique du Président français.
Les rues avoisinantes avaient été coupées, les 1200 élèves et 200 invités attendaient patiemment et l’école était parfaitement
impeccable. Sa visite à l’école a été méticuleusement préparée par toute l’école de manière concertée. Je souhaite remercier
tous ceux qui se sont investis et ont contribué au succès de cette visite. En particulier la direction et l’organisation d’Emmanuel
Texier et de Kerrie Blain, les enseignants, l’équipe de l’Intendance dirigée de façon très compétente par Mary Ryan notre
directrice des affaires financières. Tout le monde a eu parfaitement conscience du caractère historique de cette visite, qui fut une
belle démonstration des liens serrés de notre communauté scolaire. Ce jour-là, nos élèves furent fantastiques, comme ont pu le
constater et dire les médias présents. Ils ont attendu patiemment l’arrivée du Président et de la suite présidentielle, puis Telopea
fut soudain sur le devant de la scène mondiale.
Le Président s’est rendu dans une classe de CE1 où il s’est prêté au jeu des questions- réponses avec les élèves. Puis, il a
rencontré un groupe d’élèves de Première dans la bibliothèque. Ils lui ont présenté leur projet commun avec le réseau des écoles
AEFE de la Zone Asie-Pacifique autour du “Rôle de l’Océanie pendant la Première Guerre Mondiale”. David Fricker, Directeur
Général des Archives Nationales Australiennes-qui soutiennent ce projet- était présent également.

Choix des cours en ligne pour les élèves de Cinquième à Troisième
Merci à nos élèves de Cinquième à Troisième et à leurs parents pour avoir fait leurs choix de matières en utilisant notre nouveau
système en ligne cette année. Nous sommes conscients qu’il y a eu un certain nombre de problèmes et nous apprécions votre

Challenge Lecture du Chief Minister et équipe de débat
Les élèves du Primaire et du Secondaire de Telopea Park School ont été invités à une cérémonie à la National Gallery où ils ont
reçu un prix du Chief Minister. Nos élèves du Primaire gagnent régulièrment des prix pour la forte participation de tous les élèves
, mais cette année les élèves de Cinquième et de Quatrième de Telopea Park School ont également gagné un prix. Dans le même
temps, l’équipe de débat de Telopea 1 a gagné les grandes finales Ford samedi dernier. Une très belle réalisation et une toute
première victoire en débat dans cette catégorie.

of quality French and English books and magazines for sale. This will be a great opportunity to buy
gifts or supplement your child’s summer reading choices. There will be a selection of books suitable
for children from Kindergarten age through to year 10. All book sales will support the library. Thank

TLPS Art Gallery: Celebrating Student and Teaching Achievements

Throughout Australia, there exists a range of National, State, Territory and local galleries. The exhibition of art work provides an
opportunity for communities to celebrate the achievement of others, to provoke or create an emotional response, to encourage
thinking, or to allow individuals to form an opinion and to communicate a message. The creation of the Telopea Park School
Exhibition Gallery in the entrance to the arts technology block is one such public exhibition space. Within the school context, this
space allows us to showcase our students' talents and achievements in a variety of subject areas including Art, Graphics,
Textiles, Video Art, Photography, Design Technology (Metal and Wood) as well as Food technology.
As an educator, I consider myself privileged in that I am often one of the first in society to celebrate and witness our youth's
achievements, some of which are currently on exhibition at Telopea. On display are numerous certificates awarded to our Food
Technology classes, which were achieved at various competitions at the Canberra show under the guidance of teacher Tanya
Phillips. A number of art portfolios provide insight into the critical and developmental aspects of the creative learning processes
that our students underwent in their studies with teacher Danielle Northey. The recent introduction of the plinth has allowed us
to display a range of Grecian vases that have been created in visual Art. It was only yesterday that I saw a student walk past
and acclaim with pride "I created that urn"! The metalwork jewellery exhibitions under the direction of teacher Diana Lawrence
showcase the contemporary design innovations that are occurring within the school. Students have created a number of
jewellery products to design specifications ranging from contemporary to indigenous pieces. The metal sheet roses demonstrate
the capacity for the replication and imitation of art through inorganic material. The textures and designs of wood products
showcase the student work of teacher Cade Williams, each piece evoking a response and point of contemplation of the role that
organic objects play in an ever increasing synthetic electronic world.
Show Time at Telopea

It has been Show Time in drama land and what great shows they have been!
A whole range of performances are underway. From one of year 9/10 classes we have had a series of performances based on
different forms of physical theatre.

In a darkened space to some live music, the scene is set. Accompanied by some excellent storytelling; this provided the
introduction to a great piece of physical theatre. Created predominantly by the students, the plot contained everything from kid
knapped princesses, nasty villains, enchanted forests, brave heroes and disillusioned dragons...
The same group then went on to perform a series of excerpts from Romeo and Juliet and Midsummer Night’s Dream, with the
focus on stage combat skills. They all did a commendable job with a wide variety of interpretations, I was proud.
Then there was the other year 9/10 Performance Drama Class. This class was given the task to put on Frankenstein, which they
have done with excellence. I have seen this class gain skills and confidence, in stage craft, lighting design and live music
making. They have indeed become an exciting group of performers, again I am very proud of them.
Band News

A busy year for the bands in 2014 featuring the pioneering tour to France and Belgium as part of the Centenary of the First
World War. Highlights for the tour would be the standing ovations and encores at every performance; meeting our friends from
the Vignacourt Youth Embassy who visitied Australia a few months ago; the warm reception especially in Amiens and at VillersBretonneaux; performing in the legendary Victoria School; playing in the Last Post ceremony at Menin Gate and travelling with
the best bunch of students anyone could possibly want to travel with. The final performance was at Henri IV in Paris. An
exceptional opportunity for Telopea Park School students to show their talents.
More recently, year 7 performed brilliantly on their annual South Coast tour – highlights include a fantastic time at Fitzroy Falls,
Mr C’s renowned skills as a Master Chef (the “Jamie Oliver of FF” – that’s Fitzroy Falls of course, not Fatty Foods); and an epic
seaweed throwing competition which Mr C also won quite convincingly. Special thanks to Kathy Solomko – second driver and
agent provocateur for the trip.
The bands all performed in their usual places throughout the year at the Canberra Show, the Alliance Francaise (always the jazz
band’s favourite); the ANM; Red Hill pre-school; Band Camp and the National Eisteddfod – two silvers, a bronze and a never-tobe-repeated double gold in two different divisions (mainly because nobody is crazy enough to enter two different sections!);
Floriade, the ACT School Bands Festival (top two awards); CD recordings; radio broadcasts on ABC and ArtSound FM; a
Kingston Shops fundraiser for the Indigenous Digger Plaque now in the Australian Museum in Vignacourt – hand delivered too!
The jazz band also performed in the French Embassy for the Ambassador and the Vignacourt Youth Embassy, the French
President himself on his inaugural visit to Telopea and at the time of writing, will also be performing in an evening concert at the
Belgian Embassy as part of celebrations for the bicentenary of the birth of Adolphe Sax (guess which instrument system he
invented!)
Special thanks to the yr 7 Band Leader Sam Lee and his sidekick Ryan Hart. A very special than kyou to the senior leaders this
year – these were outstanding band members and can take credit for such an outstanding year - Aisha Ward, Lily Bryant and
Josephine Gillespie – Co-leaders of the Wind Ensemble; Patrick Haesler – Jazz Band Leader and his Deputy: Elise Keleher. A big
than kyou also to the Band Managers who did such a fantastic job behind the scenes all year making sure things went well –
Imogen Cesarin and Georgia Prout.

Congratulations to our Year 7 and 8 Readers!
Congratulations to Telopea Park year 7 and year 8 students. Collectively, they won the high school section of the Chief Minister’s
Reading Challenge this year! Four students represented our readers at the Awards Ceremony at the National Gallery, where
Chief Minister Katy Gallagher presented them with a lovely certificate and book voucher from Paperchain Books. Well done
students! Keep up your reading over the summer!
Introducing eBooks that can be Borrowed from Home!
The Telopea Park School Library now has eBooks and Audiobooks that can be borrowed from home and read or listened to on
any device via an App or an Internet Browser. There are many fiction titles, as well as nonfiction books that have been selected
to help with research tasks. Secondary students will learn about how to use this service before the end of the school year and a
link to full instructions will be placed on Managebac. In brief, they need to go to the ACT ETD Digital Backpack site at
https://backpack.act.edu.au and log in with their school ID number and password. If they click on the Library icon, and
choose Telopea Park School from the drop-down menu, they can search the school catalogue for electronic books and
audiobooks. Borrowing and downloads occur directly from the school catalogue. If they are having difficulties, please ask them
to see Mrs. Rapp in the library. Happy reading!

Visit of Renowned French author Jean-Claude Mourlevat
Students in Primary and Secondary enjoyed a visit with renowned French author Jean-Claude Mourlevat this term. Mourlevat
discussed his well-known stories and novels for children and youth, including L’Enfant Océan, La Rivière à l’Envers, Le Vengeance
de Robert Poutifard, Terrienne, and many others. Students from CM1 to Terminale were enthralled by his stories. Year 6
students were able to interview M Mourlevat in the new Radio and Podcasting Room in the library. You can listen to their

Visit of Australian author Deb Fitzpatrick
Students in several year 8 classes were lucky to be able to discuss writing with emerging Australian author Deb Fitzpatrick, who
has written several books for young readers, including 90 Packets of Instant Noodles, Have You Seen Ally Queen, The Amazing
Spencer Gray, and a recent novel for adults, The Break. She entertained students with stories of her years as a writer in Costa
Rica and explanations of the sources of her inspiration and the writing process.
New Robotics Club in the Library
A number of year 7, 8, and 9 students are involved a new robotics club that has started in the library this term. Our goal is to
prepare for the RoboCup Junior competition next year to compete in robot dance, search and rescue and soccer competitions.
Students have had a great time learning how to construct and program Lego Mindstorm EV3 robots. We aim to have at least a
50% girls in the program, so that we can train with RoboGals from ANU, and to encourage more girls to participate in
engineering and robotics. If additional students wish to join, they should see Mrs. Rapp in the library.

Celebrating 30 Years with Zora Kasparek (and Georgie of course!)
This year we are celebrating our lovely library volunteer, Zora Kasparek, who has been volunteering in the library for 30 years!
Zora began volunteering at the school when her eldest grandchild, Annette, was in Kindergarten. Annette is now 35. Zora’s
youngest grandchild, Landon, has just completed year 10, and will go to Narrabundah in 2015. (She has great grandchildren who
are planning to attend Telopea also!) The photos below show Zora with Annette and Landon.
Zora is hearing impaired, and in the last 9 years has always been accompanied by Georgie, her hearing dog. Over the years, she
has worked busily accessioning and covering all the secondary text books, many library books, and weeding and sorting. She is
an amazing volunteer, regularly working three or four days with us every week. She is indispensable, and we love having her as
part of our team. Zora was been with us since the time when all library records were manual; she moved into the computer era,
and has adapted to several changes in library management systems since then. She also is a wonderful cook, making the most
amazing vanilla slice you have ever tasted!
Telopea would like to acknowledge a truly amazing and inspiring lady. We look forward to her continuing contribution.
Illegal Drugs -What you need to know
Drug education resources for teachers, parents and students
Research suggests the teenage years are when alcohol and other drug use are first initiated. This highlights the importance of intervening early
to prevent drug use uptake and associated harms.
To achieve this, there is a critical need for accurate and credible evidence-based information that can be accessed by young people, their
parents and teachers.
To meet this need, the National Drug and Alcohol Research Centre and the National Drug Research Institute were funded by the Australian
Government Department of Health to develop an illegal drugs resource package for use by teachers, parents, and students. Informed by expert
review of research evidence and consultation with teachers, parents and students, the booklets in this series have been developed to:
• Provide accurate, up-to-date information about illegal drugs, their use, effects and potential harms
• Help students to make informed choices and deal with pressure from peers
• Provide guidance about how to talk to a young person about illegal drugs, or help someone who has taken a drug
• Give information about school-based drug preventions programs that have demonstrated positive outcomes in Australia
• An online drug education game, “Pure Rush” is also available. Designed for students in Years 9-10, Pure Rush
provides a fun and interactive way to educate students about drug effects and harms.
Copies of the booklets were delivered to the secondary school in Term 4, 2014. Electronic versions of the booklets
and the online game “Pure Rush” are freely available from www.positivechoices.org.au

International Baccalaureate (IB) Middle Year Programme
(MYP) News for 2015
From January 2015 Telopea Park School will be introducing the IB MYP the ‘Next Chapter’ to all English Stream classes from Year
7-Year 10. The IB MYP ‘Next Chapter’ curriculum framework has a number of changes for teachers, students and parents. There
have been name changes for a number of subjects to align the MYP with the IB Diploma Programme (DP).
Subject: English - Language A will be known as Language and Literature
Subject: Languages – Language B will be known as Language Acquisition
Subject: Humanities – will be known as Individuals and Societies
Subject: Technology – will be known as Design (Technology)
Subject: Science – will be known as Sciences
Subject: Physical Education – will be known as Physical and Health Education
Subject: Arts – will retain its name Arts
Subject: Mathematics – will retain its names Mathematics
Community and Service will be known as Service and action
In the ‘Next Chapter’ all subjects will have four assessment criteria i.e. Criterion A, B, C, D.
All assessment criteria will have a maximum of (8) eight for each criterion.
The criteria total for each subject will therefore be 32.
Each subject will have the same IB MYP ‘Grade boundaries’ for all subjects.
The IB MYP ‘Grade boundaries’ determine the IB MYP final subject grade 1-7.
Telopea Park School students in the English Stream have their Australian Government A-E grades determined from their IB MYP
Grades (1-7). In the English Stream all A-E grades and IB MYP grades are consistent across each year group. The English French
Stream students A-E grades are determined from the French curriculum grade totals out of a maximum of 20.
During 2014 English Stream teachers have been working on the transition from the ‘old’ MYP curriculum framework to the IB
MYP ‘Next Chapter’ curriculum framework. Telopea Park School has two years (2015-2016) to ensure the transition will be
achieved.
The ‘Next Chapter’ curriculum framework has a number of changes to the original IB MYP curriculum framework.
These include a greater emphasis on ‘inquiry’ learning where teachers will develop in unit plans a ‘Statement of inquiry’.
Students will demonstrate their understanding of the ‘Statement of inquiry’ in their summative tasks. There are (16) sixteen key
concepts and several ‘related concepts’ that will be covered in each specific subject from Years 7-10. Teachers will develop unit
plans to explore conceptual understanding and create deeper learning experiences for students.
‘Global Contexts’ (Fairness and development, Globalisation and sustainability, Identities and relationships, Orientation in time
and space, Personal and cultural expression, Scientific and technical innovation) will replace the ‘Areas of Interaction’.
‘Approaches to Learning’ will be central for all students to develop their understanding of how they learn. ‘Approaches to
learning’ have five core skills: Communication skills, Social skills, Self-management skills, Research skills and Thinking skills.
‘Approaches to teaching’ is another key component in the ‘Next Chapter’ curriculum framework. Approaches to teaching are:

Exciting events taking place in 2015 include the IB MYP Evaluation Visit, March (4-6), and the collaborative learning
opportunities for Telopea Park teachers with Gold Creek and Melba High Schools teachers as these schools move towards IB MYP
authorisation.
Finally, congratulations to all the students for their diligence in their studies in 2014, and their ongoing support of service and
action. We are very proud of the service they give to make a difference.

PRIMARY NEWS
With less than three weeks left of the 2014 school year, we have been busily organising all the end of year events and
celebrations. It has been an eventful year with many memorable moments that are certain to stay in our memories forever.
Kindergarten 2015 Orientation Mornings
From Monday 24 November to Thursday 27 November, we warmly welcomed our new Kindergarten 2015 students and parents
to our school. While the parents took care of some administration, the students enjoyed their first experience of ‘big school’ with
the Kindergarten teachers in the classrooms and playground. Their excited, happy faces showed their enthusiasm to become part
of the Telopea Park School community and we are looking forward to seeing them all again next year.
Volunteers’ Breakfast
Each day, many members of the broader school community work in our school to assist with a great number of different tasks.
We have people who come and read with our students in Kindergarten, Year 1 and Year 2; people who give their time at school
events and sports carnivals; people who accompany our teachers and students on excursions; as well as many other wonderful
deeds. They give their time and share their talents to support us in so many ways.
We would like to extend our heartfelt thanks to all those people who help us in any way by having a Volunteers’ Breakfast in
their honour. This will take place this Monday 1 December from 8.15am until 9.00am in the Common Room near the front of
the school. Anyone who has volunteered in any way in the school this year is warmly invited and encouraged to come and be
thanked in person. Please RSVP to Kate Sutherland.
Kindergarten, Year 1 and Year 2 (K-2) Concert
One of the nicest events in the school year is the K-2 Concert. This special event will be held on Thursday 4 December (Week
8) between 11.15am and 12.30pm in the School Hall. The students in lower Primary would love to see a large audience in the
hall to watch them perform, as they have been working hard with their class teachers and the music teacher, Susan Cribb, to
prepare some lovely items. The gold coin entry donations collected at the door are used to further enhance the music program
so we thank you in advance for your generosity. We look forward to seeing you there.

Farewell to a Special Colleague
As this is the last time I will write the article for Telopea Topics this year, I would like to take this opportunity to thank and
farewell a very special colleague who I have had the pleasure of working with for the past ten years.
Wednesday 17 December is the last day at our school for our Deputy Principal, Kate Sutherland. After many years as a
Teacher, Executive Teacher and Deputy Principal in the ACT Education and Training Directorate, Kate is retiring and embarking
on new adventures. Kate came to our school in 2005 and brought with her a passion for bilingual education. Her leadership over
the past ten years forged the creation of the first French/Australian Harmonised Curriculum as well as many other valuable
projects. Kate will be missed very much by the staff, parents, students and the broader community and we all wish her well in
the future.
Everyone is warmly invited to attend Kate’s Farewell Afternoon Tea on Wednesday 10 December from 3.30 pm to 5.30pm at the

NOUVELLES DU PRIMAIRE
A moins de trois semaines de la fin de l’année scolaire 2014, nous sommes activement en train d’organiser les événements et
célébrations de fin d’année. Cette année a été riche en événements et nous avons tous partagé des moments forts dont nous
nous souviendrons très longtemps.
Matinées d’intégration des futurs élèves de Maternelle 2015
Du lundi 24 novembre au jeudi 27 novembre, nous avons accueilli chaleureusement à l’école nos futurs élèves de Maternelle et
leurs parents. Pendant que les parents réglaient les derniers détails administratifs, les enfants ont pu apprécier leur première
expérience à la “grande école” en compagnie des enseignantes de Maternelle, dans les classes et la cour de récréation. Nous
avons pu lire sur leurs visages heureux et excités leur enthousiasme à faire partie de la communauté de l’école de Telopea Park
et nous sommes tous impatients de les retrouver l’année prochaine.
Petit déjeuner des Bénévoles
Chaque jour, de nombreuses personnes de la communauté scolaire viennent à l’école pour aider dans de nombreux domaines.
Celles-ci viennent lire avec les élèves de Maternelle, CP¨et CE1 , apportent leur aide lors des différentes manifestations et fêtes
sportives organisées à l’école, ou accompagnent nos enseignants et les élèves lors des sorties, sans parler de toutes les autres
occasions. Elles donnent de leur temps et partagent leurs talents pour nous soutenir dans tous nos nombreux projets.
Nous souhaitons remercier très chaleureusement tous ceux qui nous aident à leur façon à l’occasion d’un Petit Déjeuner des
Bénévoles organisé en leur honneur. Il aura lieu le lundi 1er décembre de 8h15 à 9h00 dans la salle commune près de l’entrée
de l’école. Nous invitons tous les bénévoles qui nous ont aidés cette année à y participer afin que nous puissions les remercier
en personne. Merci de confirmer votre présence auprès de Kate Sutherland.
Concert des classes de Maternelle à CE1 (K-2)
Le Concert des classes de Maternelle à CE1 (K-2) reste l’un des événements les plus beaux de l’année scolaire. Il aura lieu le
jeudi 4 décembre (en semaine 8) entre 11h15 et 12h30 dans le Hall de l’école. Nos plus jeunes élèves du Primaire seront ravis
de pouvoir se produire devant un large public car ils ont travaillé et répété très sérieusement les jolies chansons avec leur
enseignante et le professeur de musique, Susan Cribb. Les dons que vous ferez à l’entrée du Hall serviront à améliorer

Au revoir à une collègue spéciale
Comme c’est ma dernière contribution au Telopea Topics cette année, je voudrais saisir l’occasion pour remercier et dire au
revoir à une collègue très spéciale avec qui j’ai eu le plaisir de travailler ces dix dernières années.
Mercredi 17 décembre sera le dernier jour à l’école de notre Principale adjointe, Kate Sutherland. Après de nombreuses années
comme enseignante, Executive Teacher et Principale adjointe pour le Ministère de l’Education de l’ACT, Kate prend sa retraite et
part vers de nouvelles aventures. Kate est arrivée à l’école en 2005 et nous a fait partager sa passion pour l’éducation bilingue.
Sous sa direction, le premier programme franco-australien harmonisé a été mis en place, tout comme de nombreux autres
projets utiles. Elle manquera beaucoup au personnel, aux parents, aux élèves et à la communauté scolaire. Nous lui souhaitons
bonne chance dans ses projets futurs.
Vous êtes tous cordialement invités à participer au goûter d’adieu de Kate qui aura lieu le mercredi 10 décembre de 15h30 à

LAST P&C MEETING FOR 2014 – WEDNESDAY 3rd DECEMBER 6:30pm
The last P&C meeting for the year will be held on Wednesday 3 rd December in the Secondary Staff Room. It will commence with
a Special General Meeting at 6:30pm to accept the 2014 P&C Audit report and follow with a general meeting to decide how
the funds raised in 2014 will be allocated next year.
Financial help for high school students
The ACT Government's Secondary Bursary Scheme provides an annual payment of $750 to help low-income families with
education costs. It is available to families with students in years 7 to 10. Applications should be lodged by November 28 for the
