David ROSE est un violoniste d’origine américaine issu du groupe d’Yves Simon
Transit Express. Il a enregistré avec son groupe sept albums de 1977 à 1983.
C’est un enregistrement live inédit, enregistré dans de bonnes conditions entre le premier et le
deuxième album du groupe. A la barre, outre Rose, une vraie équipe de rêve : Serge
Perathoner aux claviers, Gerard Prevost à la basse, Claude Salmieri à la batterie, Gerard
Kurdjian aux percussions. C’est l’occasion de redécouvrir un Jazz Rock très beau, suggestif,
lyrique, survolé par un violon sensuel et fougueux ; ces compositions peuvent évoquer les
ténors du genre, comme Brand X, mais aussi certains compositeurs classiques comme
Debussy ou Bartok. Pleine d’énergie et de sophistication, de surprises et d’innovations, cette
musique est un beau témoignage de l’underground musical français des années 70.

Un jazz-rock très particulier et personnel
David ROSE is an american born violonist who emerged from Transit Express,
Yves Simon’s band in the mid-seventies. He released seven album with his band from 1977 to
1983.This is an unreleased live recording with a good sound, engineered between Rose’s first
and second album, with a musical “dream team”: Serge Perathoner (keyboards), Gerard
Prevost (bass), Claude Salmieri (drums), Gerard Kurdjian (percussions). They create and offer
a beautiful Jazz Rock music, suggestive, lyrical, with sensual violin sounds, somewhere
between Brand X and classical composers like Debussy or Bartok. Full of energy and worked
out, surprising and innovative, here is a beautiful testimony of the seventies musical
underground.
