Collins sign Pro Line Fusion® cockpit upgrade

Airbus Helicopters, Vector Aerospace
and Rockwell Collins have entered into
an agreement to jointly develop and
market the scalable and flexible Pro Line
Fusion integrated avionics solution to
upgrade Airbus Helicopters platforms.
“Pro Line Fusion provides Airbus
Helicopters with one of the most
advanced avionics and the highest level
of efficiency for the rotary wing cockpit,”
said Troy Brunk, vice president and
general manager of Airborne Solutions
for Rockwell Collins. “The enhanced
situational awareness features provided
by Pro Line Fusion will result in reduced
pilot workload and greatly increase flight
safety for operators of Airbus Helicopters
platforms.” The first platforms targeted for
the upgrades will be AS332 / 532 MK1
helicopters, with the first implementation
expected in the summer of 2016.

The French Ministry of Defence has
renewed a multi-year contract with
Daher for the continued operational
support of its TBM 700 fleet. The deal
was awarded by the French military
procurement
agency’s
SIMMAD
maintenance organisation following an
18–month tender process.
With a little help from the U.S.
Congress and the potential for
international orders, Boeing is bullish
about prospects for its international
fighters. A year ago, the fate of the
F/A-18 production line in St. Louis was
uncertain. Pentagon orders were
trailing off, and the Navy again did not
formally request money for the
platform for fiscal 2016.
It covers the airframe, engine and
propeller on all 27 of the military’s
high-speed,
single-engined
turboprops. The aircraft are used by
the French armed forces for VIP
transportation and training. The
inventory consists of 15 TBM 700As
used by the French air force; five
700As and eight TBM 700Bs deployed
by the French army aviation; and four
700As assigned to the French flight
test centre.
“These TBM 700s were among the
first military aircraft for which the
French armed forces outsourced a
maintenance contract,” says Daher.
The initial contract was awarded to the
Tarbes-based company in 2001,
shortly after the creation...
