Since 1990, I am a documentary and fictions length and short film editor- mainly
on documentaries, because I first of all
(and remains) very attached to the idea of
reality representation -. It is my basic work,
which enables me to earn my living, but
also which enables me to work the image
like a material.

In 1992, because my «fed» work did not nourish me enough artistically, I have create with friends the group
“La Charrue Avant Les Boeufs (faut pas mettre) » (« the cart before the horse (don’t put) »). The idea was
not to take ourselves seriously but to create ludic, amusing and personal videos, that enable us to make
something else than the conventional T.V. one - precisely the one we were making on professional life -.
We had a studio at Goumen, an artistic squat of the 20th district of Paris, which lead us to take part in events
for the place. From this direct contact to the public, it quickly appears to me the idea to create interactive
and participative installations. Indeed, television less and less seemed to me an interesting tool from the
artistic and poetic point of view because of it too static and too manipulator status. Whereas the installations enabled me to set up a ritual around the image which could really lead different people to live a poetic
experiment together.

In 1996, with my initiative, the group dissolved. Indeed, I preferred to have a personal activity
rather than depending on the group’s decisions. I wanted to find my own - and if possible singlevoice and to develop from it installations.
