Le 19 décembre dernier, la Chambre des représentants a approuvé le budget de l'aide
américaine à Israël, soit environ trois MILLIARDS de dollars.

Jérusalem (AFP) -- Une société israélienne a reçu commande pour la livraison de centaines
de parachutes à une société américaine établie dans l'Etat de Michigan, pour les employés
de ses bureaux établis dans des gratte-ciel, rapporte vendredi le quotidien israélien Yédiot
Aharonot.
La commande a été passée à la lumière des attentats terroristes perpétrés le 11 septembre
contre les tours jumelles du World Trade Center de New York, écrit le journal sous le titre:
"Les Américains travaillant dans des tours s'équipent de parachutes".
Depuis, la fabrique de la société israélienne Avco Aviation, basée à Césarée, dans le nord
d'Israël, spécialisée dans les parachutes, tourne à plein régime pour faire face à la
demande, a indiqué au journal son président directeur général, Anatoly Kohen.
"Nous avons développé une ligne de production pour la fabrication de parachutes servant
d'habitude de parachute de secours que nous avons adaptés aux besoins de personnes
travaillant dans les étages supérieurs des tours", a-t-il déclaré.
Ces parachutes entreposés aux étages supérieurs pourront être distribués aux employés
en cas d'alerte.
Après avoir sanglé le parachute, il suffira d'attacher solidement, à une table ou à une
armoire, la corde qui en déclenchera l'ouverture une fois que la personne se sera jetée
dans le vide, a expliqué le PDG israélien.

propose to the Cabinet at the next weekly meeting a bill that would enable us to use these
frozen funds. The total is 1.6 billion shekels [$378million]. This will not solve all our
problems, but it will help prevent us from nearing an economic crisis-point. It's not our job to
run a savings plan for Yasser Arafat, in which we hold the money for him and then give it to

him later with interest. We are supposed to give them money according to [agreements we
signed with him], but since Arafat has abrogated all the agreements, this means that the
agreements don't exist, and we must act accordingly."

L'Ambassadeur afghan de "l'Alliance du Nord" à l'ONU: Nous soutenons le droit pour
Israël d'exister

L'Ambassadeur afghan aux Nations unies, Ravan Farhadi a dit hier qu'il soutient le droit
d'exister d'Israël à côté des états Musulmans au Moyen-Orient.
"Nous sommes beaucoup en faveur du droit d'exister d'Israël,"a dit Farhadi, dont "l'Alliance
du Nord", connue comme "l'Etat Islamique d'Afghanistan", contrôle actuellement un quart
du pays.
"L'expérience nous a montré qu'il serait préférable si la paix est établie en Israël avec le
droit d'exister d'Israël. Nous pensons si toutes les résolutions du Conseil de Sécurité de
l'ONU et de l'Assemblée Générale sont mises en oeuvre que nous atteindrons l'étape
suivante où la coexistence des deux nations sera possible,"a dit Farhadi. "Nous ne
sommes pas un grand acteur dans cette région et nous ne voulons pas être acteur," a-t-il
ajouté.

UNE PÉTITION
La fabrique de la haine
L'acquittement par la Cour d'Assises des Yvelines le 28 septembre dernier du policier
Pascal Hiblot, meurtrier du jeune Youssef Khaïf, est une parodie de justice et une véritable
provocation à la haine.
Parodie de justice: un procès retardé pendant dix ans, un Palais de Justice en état de
siège, une salle réservée pour l'essentiel aux policiers venus soutenir leur collègue,
appuyés par le représentant d'un parti fasciste, un jury exclusivement composé de Français
"de souche", un représentant du ministère public complaisant, des délibérations bâclées.
Fait exceptionnel, un accusé dont la culpabilité est établie est purement et simplement
acquitté.
Provocation à la haine: à l'heure où l'on célèbre le vingtième anniversaire de l'abolition de
la peine de mort, le permis de tuer délivré aux policiers par la Cour d'Assises la rétablit en
pratique pour les jeunes des banlieues.
Voilà l'application de la fameuse "tolérance zéro", du "droit à la sécurité" et autres "justes
sanctions", dont la gauche comme la droite nous rebattent les oreilles depuis des mois.
Le verdict de la Cour d'Assises est fondé sur ce calcul cynique: si la justice est nulle part, la
police est partout et elle saura faire respecter l'ordre dans les ghettos de l'apartheid social.
A coups d'années de prison pour les brûleurs de voiture et, si ça ne suffit pas, de balles
dans la nuque.
A l'heure où s'alourdissent les dangers de dérives fanatiques, racistes et sécuritaires, il est
de notre devoir de résister à cette fabrique de la haine en réaffirmant notre solidarité à la
famille de Youssef et aux habitants du Val Fourré dans leur douleur et leur combat pour la
justice.

Bodies with tied hands raise fears Taliban prisoners were executed at fortress

QALAIJANGHI FORTRESS, Afghanistan.
Corpses with bound hands, dust mixed with dried blood, spent mortar rounds littering fields
where horses grazed: No part of this massive fortress was left unstained by death in one of
the most ferocious battles of the war on the Taliban.
In a field strewn with about 50 bodies, an Associated Press photographer yesterday saw
that some corpses had their arms tied with cloth -- contrary to claims by a key Northern
Alliance commander that none had been tied up.
Nearly all the Taliban prisoners involved in the three-day uprising at the Qalai-Janghi
fortress were killed, Alliance officials say -- perhaps around 450 fighters, though the
precise number was uncertain.
Full details may never be known of the uprising by Taliban who were being held prisoner at
the fortress near the northern city of Mazar-e-Sharif or of the fierce assault that ended the
rebellion. Red Cross workers yesterday began hauling bodies away, and with the remains
likely went much of the evidence of what happened.

The questions include how the prisoners -- including Pakistanis, Chechens, Arabs and other
non-Afghans -- got access to weapons, and whether some prisoners were executed after
Alliance troops gained control or died in the battle.
The uprising was put down with the help of U.S. air strikes, U.S. special forces and
other covert troops believed to be British. At the Pentagon yesterday, Rear Adm. John
Stufflebeem said American officials do not have a clear picture of what happened.
"There's a lot of questions that obviously need to be asked or answers that need
to be obtained as to how that came about, or how that can be prevented in the
future."
Meanwhile, in a separate incident in southern Afghanistan, Reuters yesterday quoted a
senior pashtun commander as saying that scores of captured Taliban fighters who refused
to surrender last week near Kandahar were executed despite protests by U.S. forces at
the scene.
The commander said tribal elders and officers tried to persuade the Taliban to surrender
before the battle for the town of Takteh Pol, which sits between Kandahar and the
Pakistani border.
"But they replied with abuse so we had no choice. We executed around 160 Taliban that
were captured. They were made to stand in a long line and five or six of our fighters used
light machine guns on them," said the commander of forces loyal to Gul Agha, a former
mujahideen governor of Kandahar.
The commander declined to be identified for security reasons. His account could not be
independently verified.
But he said seven or eight U.S. military personnel, who had been filming the fighting, tried
unsuccessfully to prevent the killings.
As for the Qalai Janghi fortress, soldiers were seen yesterday cutting the bindings off the
bodies with knives and scissors. One soldier used a piece of metal to pry gold fillings from a
dead man's teeth. Bodies dotted the dusty ground and dry scrub of the compound, some
falling together in trenches, many shoeless.
In another field, the bodies of many horses lay with gaping wounds.
The battle also brought the United States' first combat death in Afghanistan: C I A officer
Johnny " Mike" Spann, whose body was recovered yesterday. Five American soldiers were
also wounded when a U.S. bomb landed off-target.
'We did not tie them (Taliban prisoners.) We brought them here to be safer.' Gen.
Rashid Dostum Northern Alliance
Swaggering through the fortress yesterday in a long brown robe cinched by a wide black
leatherbelt, Northern Alliance Gen. Rashid Dostum insisted the prisoners were treated
properly but had none the less rebelled.
"We did not tie them. We brought them here to be safer," he told reporters.
Dostum is one of Afghanistan's most feared and notorious warlords. When his fighters took
Mazar-e-Sharif from the Taliban in 1997, they threw prisoners into wells and tossed in
grenades to finish them off, the United Nations reported. The Taliban settled the score
when they recaptured the city in 1998; a U. N. report charged the Islamic militia with
executing thousands of people.
This time, according to Dostum, the first apparent act of rebellion occurred Saturday, when
a Taliban prisoner detonated a grenade that killed two of his commanders and seriously
injured another.
Dostum said he sent a general the next day to visit the prisoners and assure them they
would be treated in accordance with international law.
"But they once again attacked my general, threw a grenade, attacked soldiers and took
their guns," Dostum said.
Another soldier at the fort said he was on the field and that some of the prisoners were tied
up when the fighting began.
During the journalists' visit, Dostum warned them to stay away from the southern section
where the pro-Taliban prisoners had been held, including the field with the bodies. But
some journalists went anyway.
The general said there were "dangerous people" at large who could be among the dead."
They are suicidal people and one can expect anything from them," Dostum said. Northern
Alliance soldiers in the compound were seen later tossing a grenade into a gutter leading to
a basement in one of the buildings, presumably to flush out any remaining prisoners.
About 30 Alliance fighters were killed and more than 200 wounded in the fighting, Dostum
said. He declined to say how many prisoners were killed.

Dostum said he was holding 6,000 more Taliban fighters from Kunduz and promised they
would be treated humanely. Dostum toured the fortress with Noorullah Noori, former Taliban
governor of Balkh province where Mazar-e-Sharif is located.
Noori said he had told the fighters to surrender."I feel sad about these events. It was really
in vain," Noori said." It shouldn't have happened."

How our Afghan allies applied the Geneva Convention
Prisoners massacred, the dead plundered for boots, guns and even gold teeth

The bodies of the dead lay everywhere. Somewere laid out in roads to be taken away,
others were still lying on the ground where they died, slowly beginning to decay in the
morning sun.
An Afghan soldier leant over a body, his hands working intently in the dead man's mouth,
clutching along thin instrument. He was trying to wrench the fillings out of the corpse's teeth
even as the flesh began to rot around them.
The outside world got to see what the war in Afghanistan was really like yesterday. For the
first time reporters were allowed into Qalai Janghi, the old mud-walled fort outside Mazar-iSharif where hundreds of Taliban prisoners of war had been killed in a pitched battle with
American and British special forces and Afghan soldiers under command of General Abdul
Rashid Dostum.
Inside the fortress reporters saw a scene of devastation. Rubble was piled high where
buildings had collapsed. The charred remains of trees had to be cleared away from the
entrance before the bodies could be taken away. The Americans had bombed the
quarters from the air. Yesterday the Afghan soldiers were busily stripping the bodies of
everything they could find. One soldier, his head wrapped in a white turban stepped over
the dead, swinging the boots he had taken from their feet. Another dressed in a long blue
Afghan shirt carried four machine guns he had taken.
Several of the bodies were recognisably Arabs and Pakistani. The foreign Taliban
volunteers believed to be loyal to Osama bin Laden but who surrendered were brought to
the fort from the besieged city of Mazar-i- Sharif..
Amnesty International yesterday demanded a full inquiry into why hundreds of prisoners of
war who should have been protected under the Geneva Convention were slaughtered.
The Americans insisted they only bombed Qalai Janghi because their own personnel were
under threat. They said the Taliban prisoners seized weapons and attacked their Afghan
captors along with CIA agents who were interrogating them. Yesterday it was confirmed a
CIA agent named Johnny Michael" Mike" Spann, 32, was among the fort's dead.
General Dostum striding through the slaughtered yesterday in a long flowing brown shirt
and leather jacket, insisted his soldiers had treated the prisoners humanely. As he spoke, a
soldier kicked the body of a man who was lying on his side to make sure he was dead. The
body rolled over to reveal that the man's arms had been tied together behind his back.
Several of the dead men's arms had been tied together above the elbow, some with their
own black turbans. General Dostum publicly denied the practice but an Afghan soldier
under his command admitted he and his comrades had been tying the prisoner's hands
when the fighting started.
Reporters inside counted 150 bodies yesterday. Between 300 and 400 foreign Taliban
volunteers were seen surrendering to General Dostum's troops. They are all believed to
have been brought to Qalai Janghi, which means more than 150 bodies are missing. Many
of them could have been lying in the rubble in the fortress. There were few Taliban
survivors. General Dostum warned reporters not to wander the scene of the battle, because
he claimed, two of the foreign Taliban were still alive and could be hiding in the fortress
posing as dead.
At least one Pakistani Taliban was captured alive in Mazar-i-Sharif apparently after he
escaped during the fighting. He has since disappeared and nobody expects him to be seen
alive again. Olivier Martin of the International Red Cross who was inside Qalai Janghi when
the fighting began yesterday described how he had to flee the battle. He had gone to the
fortress to ensure they were being looked after in accordance with the Geneva Convention.
"We heard some shooting start, and then they started firing rockets,'' Mr Martin said. "We
climbed on to the roof where we had to take shelter beside some of General Dostum's
troops who were firing back at the Taliban.''

By that time he said it was clear that the Taliban prisoners were heavily armed.
Mr Martin said he was not able to see how the violence started, but General Dostum
claimed the revolt had begun after a grenade attack by Taliban prisoners killed two of his
best generals.
Yesterday there was no explanation on how the prisoners managed toget their hands on
the arsenal to enable them to hold out for three days. The secrets of what and whom really
started the killing, may have died with them.

Russian federation boasts large network of activities

Moscow -- Only a few years ago, the idea of a Russian Jewish group passing a resolution
approving a Kremlin-backed war would haveseemed laughable. Even in the post- Soviet
era, most Jewish activists shied away from the halls of power.
But when the Federation of Jewish Communities of Russia -- and the representatives of the
federation's 150 constituent groups from across the country who gathered here last month
for the group's second annual conference -- narrowly passed a resolution backing Russia's
war on Chechnya as a war on terrorism, the action seemed natural.
The federation's alliance with Russian President Vladimir Putin, combined with the energy of
the group, has made it the driving force in Russian Jewry. The federation's growing network
is active in at least 135 cities and towns across the country, running 32 synagogues, 120
Jewish centers, 17 day schools and 41 Sunday schools [avec le fric des juifs américains
] -- and distributing 320 tons of mata each passover.
The group, which has a strong Lubavitch representation, prints books on Jewish traditions,
edits newspapers and magazines and creates Jewish Websites.
[...] The money may seem laughable to Western ears, but he says this is the only real help
the community gets from the Jewish world, besides the Chesed canteen for elderly Jews run
by the American Jewish Joint Distribution Committee.
The emissaries' tirelessness is evident across Russia's vast landmass. [...]
Now, this group's leaders want to consolidate further and gather all the Russian-speaking
Jews in the world into one group. The federation adopted a resolution of that nature at
the federation's conference, which brought 350 delegates from around the country.
Rabbi Valery Engel, the federation's executive director, and Rabbi Avraham Berkowitz,
executive director of the broader umbrella group, are planning to hold in December the first
convention of Jewish activists from Russia, the United States and Israel to createan
Executive Committee of the World Congress of Russian Jews. [Encore une groupe

The goals of this group, according to federation leaders, are to initiate cross-cultural
programs, to promote investments in Russia and Israel, to support Israel and Russia in their
fight against international terrorism, and to support Russia in its integration into the world
community.
But even with the dedication of its emissaries, it is unlikely that the federation would have
succeeded without the support of the Kremlin.
The romance with the Kremlin administration has long been evident. Putin spoke at the
opening ceremony of the center in September 2000, praising the group's activities. He then
visited the center last Chanukah and spent three hours there, drinking Israeli wine and
talking to former Israeli Prime Minister Benjamin Netanyahu.
The group's main funder, Lev Levayev, an Uzbek Jew who made aliyah at the beginning of
the 1970s and became a diamond tycoon in Israel, is on friendly terms with the chief
Kremlin executive, Alexander Voloshin, and with Putin himself.
Last January, Levayev dined in a Kremlin palace with Putin, Israeli President Moshe
Katsav, who visited Moscow, and with one of Russia's two chief rabbis, Berellazar -- who for
this dinner managed to have the Kremlin kitchen made kosher with a blow torch. For his
part, Lazar does not lose any opportunity to praise Putin for making every effort to ensure a
vastly improved quality of life for Jews in Russia . [...] The federation's rise has come at the
expense of its rival, the Russian Jewish Congress, which has suffered from a Kremlin
campaign that chased its former president, Vladimir Goussinsky, out of the country.
Goussinsky now lives in the United States.
But in recent weeks, tensions surfaced between the federation and another Jewish group,
the American Jewish Joint Distribution Committee. Officials of both groups say that money
lies at the heart of the dispute between federation and the JDC, which operates hundreds
of Chesed welfare centers and J C Cs across the FSU and is building a system of more
secular-oriented Jewish communities.

The tensions surfaced in recent weeks, when the JDC opened a new community center in
Moscow -- and federation leaders complained that the JDC does not adequately support
the federation's efforts.
The tensions escalated further when Engel demanded at his group's conference that any
JDC project costing more than $ 50,000 be coordinated with all major Russian Jewish
organizations.
For their part, JDC officials say there is enough room for two centers to operate in Moscow.
But further clashes appear likely between the two groups, each of which operates a budget
of between $ 30 million and $ 40 million for activities in the region. "There are currently two
strong players in the same field, and they inevitably have to clash,"said Mark Grubarg, a
federation leader in St. Petersburg.

Protocoles des Sages de Sion, qui se vend comme du nougat dans le Moyen-Orient, grâce

If or when one mentions the Protocols alleged to be of the Elders of Zion, one is frequently
met with the reply: Oh, but they are a forgery.
Certainly they are a forgery, and that is the one proof we have of their authenticity. The
Jews have worked with forged documents for the past 24 hundred years, namely ever since
they have had any documents whatsoever. And no one can qualify as a historian of this
half century without having examined the Protocols. Alleged, if you like, to have been
translated from the Russian, from a manuscript to be consulted in the British Museum,
where some such document may or may not exist.
What we know for certain is that they were published two decades ago. That Lord
Sydenham wrote a preface to them. That their content has been traced to another sketch
said to have appeared in the eighteen forties. The interest in them does not lie in [the]
question of their having been, or NOT been concocted by a legislative assembly of Rabbis,
democratically elected, or secretly chosen by the Mysterious Order of Seven Branched
Antlers or the Bowling Society of Milwaukee. Their interest lies in the type of mind, or the
state of mind of their author. That was their interest for the psychologist the day they first
appeared. And for the historian two decades later, when the program contained in them
has so crushingly gone into effect up to a point, or down to a squalor.
What is interesting, perhaps most, to the historian is their definite campaign against history
altogether, their declared intention to blot out the classics, to blot out the record, and to
dazzle men with talk of tomorrow. That is a variant on the pie in the bait. As far as reality is
concerned, as far as you and I are concerned it makes little difference whether prosperity is
in heaven, or in the year 2300, or just round a corner that will never be turned.
A religious man might think his reward might be in heaven, but even a religious man ought
to know that his reward will not be on earth in a hundred years time. In fact, the pie in the
sky is a more reasonable proposition: an opium with more to it than Mr. Keynes'day after
tomorrow.
I am not concerned with fixing blame retrospectively so much as with judging the present:
those who are against the true word, the protocolaires. Now Keynes whose fair is foul, foul
is fair sentence can be taken as the quintessence of something or other, is the perfect
protoclaire. It comes over me that on the one occasion I had the curious experience of
seeing him, he managed to utter two falsehoods in a very short space of time. In fact never
opened his mouth without doing so. First in stating that he is an orthodox economist, which
he is not, second in saying that the then high cost of living was due to lack of labor, when
there were millions of men out of work.

You couldn't have done much better in two sentences if you were out for a record in the
falsification. Protocol No.8, second [paragraph]:
"We shall surround ourgovernment with a whole world of economists. That is the reason
why economic sciences form, etc. Around us again will be a whole constellation of bankers,
industrialists, capitalists and the main thing, millionaires, because in substance everything
will be settled by the question of figures."
Is it possible to arouse any interest in verbal precision? Is it possible to persuade more than
six or eight people to consider the scope of crossword puzzles and other devices for looking
at words for something that is NOT their meaning? Cabala, for example, anything to make
the word mean something it does NOT say. Anything to distract the auditor from the plain
sense of the word, or the sentence? Even to communism that is NOTcommunism. To
communism of the episcopal sort, which they want in England. A Bolshevism that is to leave
the archbishops and curates just where they are, each with his living or benefice. A
revelation against capital, allegedly against capital, that attacks property and leaves capital
setting pretty.
Lenin all out for making banking a state affair. And then twenty years during which it has
seemed to drop decidedly into the background, when the world revolution was very busy
about something else.
It should by now be clear that some people fear NOT the outcome of the war, but the END
of the war. Churchill, for example. Not defeat, not the ruin of the Empire that worries him,
but the END of the war. End of the slaughter, end of the war conditions.
Robert Clive has been clear enough, ex- British ambassador in Tokyo. Tells you and the
world Japan cannot be beaten. But the war must go ON, according to Churchill and
Roosevelt. Churchill sees the end of monopoly and privilege, or at least a shift when the
war ends, no matter HOW. That is the point you should consider. In regard to the protocols,
either there is and was a plot to ruin all goyim, all nations of Europe, or some people are
starkraving crazy. They want war to go on to certainw reck. WHO are they?
Mere cannon fodder. The American troops in N. Africa know they are not there thru any
wish of their own. The war was started for gold, to maintain the fetish value of gold. Plenty
of other sidelines. Minor advantages have been COMMERCIALLY taken. Did the present
regime in England WANT the troops to return after Dunkirk? Every move for reform in
England is a fascist reform, or proposition along fascist lines.
The supreme betrayal of Europe is inherent in the alliance of Anglo-Jewry with Moscow.
Debts rise. That is one part of the war. It is a contest between STOPPING the war and
going on with it. And only one side does any fighting. Namely the party that STARTED the
war. They are for its continuance. Who are they?
BUT they are also for starting then extone. They openly proclaim that AFTER (that is IF)
America finishes with Japan, she will have to fight Russia .IF Russia should break into
Europe.
Only blindness and deafness can keep you unaware of these proclamations. The U. S.
must protect the world? Why? Does the world want it? The U. S., once this war is over,
must be strong enough to beat Russia .
The U. S. had a chance to maintain her prestige and unique position by staying NEUTRAL.
Neutral while other powers exhausted themselves. And she DID not.
Who are the lunatics? Was there a deliberate plot? That is what should concern you. WAS
the reap Iot? How long had it been in existence? Does it continue, with its Lehmans,
Morgenthaus, Baruchs? Proposals to send the darkies to Africa, to work for Judea, and the
rest of it? And WILL you, after Japan is thru with you, take on Russia ? In order to maintain
the banking monopoly? With Mr. Wille Wiseman, late of the British secret service,
ensconced in Kuhn, Loeb and Co., to direct you and rule you?

Ramadan T V Special: The Protocols of the Elders of Zion
During the second half of Ramadan, a number of television stations, including Egyptian
stations, will be screening the thirty-part series "Horseman Without a Horse,"starring the
well-known Egyptian actor Muhammad Subhi and a cast of 400 others from Egypt, Syria,
and France. The series, whose budget ran six to eight million Egyptian pounds, was
produced by Arab Radio and Television (ART), established in 1993, which broadcasts to
the Middle East, North America, Latin America, Australia, and Africa. (1)

In a report on the series, the Egyptian weekly Roz Al-Youssef (2) described it as the"first of
its kind" -- both artistically, as it is the first time a single actor plays 14 different characters,
and in th eway in which it deals with the issues it raises. The following are excerpts from a
report on the series:
" For the first time, the series'writer courageously tackles the 24 Protocols of the
Elders of Zion, revealing the mand clarifying that they are the central line that still,
to this very day, dominates Israel's policy, political aspirations, and racism... The
series'first scene is set in 1948, after the retreat of the four Arab armies and the
Zionist invasion of the land of Palestine. From this point, there is a flashback to the
mid-19thcentury."
The newspaper states that the idea of exposing the Protocols of the Elders of Zion in a
drama series took shape in Subhi's mind as the result of two events. The first of the sewas
the "London Convention" [sic], which he considered the greatest single calamity ever to
affect the Arab region. This agreement, Subhi claimed, was the work of three Zionist rabbis,
promoters of the Zionist idea, who concocted an elaborate plot according to which
Palestine would be annexed to Egypt, and Britain would subsequently conquer Egypt and
hand Palestine over to the Zionists.
Subhi stated that this is what sparked his desire to investigate the Zionist idea, which
existed years before the "London Convention," but emerged only at the first Zionist
conference in Basle Switzerland, at which the Jews began to appear as a Zionist
organization; previously, they had been active only in associations and large institutions
throughout the world.
Also motivating him, he said, was a book by the Egyptian author Abbas Mahmoud Al'Aqqad on the Zionist movement.
Al-'Aqqad said that , "[In order to examine] whether the Protocols of the Elders of Zion are
an invention-as [the Jews] claim-all we have to do is to trace the [implementation of the ] 24
protocols; if we find that some of them have come to pass, we must expect that the rest
also will." Subhi followed Al-' Aqqad's advice, and found that 19 of the 24 protocols had
[already] been put into practice." By means of the series," Subhi adds," I am exposing all
the Protocols of the Elders of Zion that have been implemented to date, in a dramatic,
comic, historic, national, tragic, and romantic manner."
The weekly also offered quotes from the Protocols that the series addresses:
" We will act to establish a state to be a superpower that will rule the
world";"[When we rule the world], we will damage its morality with pornography,
prostitution, and drugs, and we will corrupt the world of the Gentiles ";" We must
choose someone corrupt [for the presidency of the superpower] and when he
resists us-we will expose him."
In this context, Subhi noted,"We all remember what happened to President Clinton and to
other presidents throughout history."
The series will also reveal "advice" reportedly taken from the Protocols, such as:"Feed a
dog, [but] not a Muslim or a Christian" and "Kill a Muslim or a Christian and take his house
as your house and his lands as your lands." He also raises such questions as, "How can a
country like America collaborate with the Jews when it is familiar with the Protocols'
directives against it [America]?"

Vous avez consacré à peu près 1/6e de page à la "colère, la peur et la haine"de quelqu'un
se disant franco-israélien, habitant Paris et faisant son service militaire en Palestine. Ce
jeune homme fait sans doute partie d'une famille juive ayant été un jour accueillie
amicalement en France et il va maintenant contribuer à la politique du gouvernement
israélien ayant comme but de chasser les Palestiniens de chez eux ou de les stresser
jusqu'à ce que mort collective s'ensuive (par cancer ou non-reproduction).Alors que
pendant ces mêmes jours les Israéliens ont tué plusieurs Palestiniens, rasé plusieurs
maisons etc..
Ce jeune homme se disant "franco-israélien" est parti en Palestine pour chasser l'Arabe
comme des gens riches en France vont chasser le cerf en Tchechie ou l'ours en Russie.
Mais tous frais payés. Et en plus l'impression d'être un héros et d'avoir fait une oeuvre utile
à l'humanité.
Je me demande si, pour produire de tels articles, il est nécessaire d'envoyer une journaliste
en Israël.

Chers collègues, veuillez trouver ci-dessous copie du compte rendu de mon voyage en
Palestine, que j'ai adressé à Renaud Fabre. A ce voyage participaient P Braouzek, A
Krivine, A Casanova, des journalistes... en vous souhaitant bonne réception, Maria
Poumier, du département d'espagnol de Paris VIII à Saint Denis
Opération «Un avion pour la paix», bilan d’une universitaire.
De retour de Palestine, il me semble utile de faire partager les leçons que j’en tire.
L’université de Paris VIII à laquelle j’appartiens est depuis longtemps sur le front de la
protection du peuple palestinien et de la défense de son droit à vivre en paix et en liberté.
Roland Fabre, notre président, est co-fondateur de l’Association «Pour Jérusalem», aux
côtés de la sénatrice communiste Danièle Bidart et du Père Michel Lelong entre autres.
Nombreux et très populaires, voire médiatiques, sont nos enseignants, qui, à partir
d’horizons divers, défendent publiquement la Palestine, de même que nos étudiants,
souvent d’origine étrangère, et parfois bien armés pour résister à la pensée dominante. La
coopération de Paris VIII avec l’université de Bir Zeit est déjà en route, avec le projet
«Peace», qui rassemble plusieurs universités françaises, et dont Le Figaro a rendu compte
en ouvrant ses colonnes à Ivar Ekeland (voir ci-dessous). Grâce aux initiatives concrètes de
Fernand Tuil, désormais cette solidarité va pouvoir s’exprimer sur le terrain, par des
échanges d’étudiants et d’enseignants. Nous serions heureux d’accueillir un jour parmi
nous comme Docteur honoris causa Madame Leila Chahid, si remarquable ambassadrice
du peuple palestinien, mais aussi de la sensibilité de tant de Français. Tout à fait dans la
ligne de son analyse, nous redoutons désormais que certains introduisent dans les médias
l’idée qu’il faut traiter les banlieues comme des territoires occupés, des extensions de la
Palestine, c’est à dire comme des repaires de terroristes méritant toutes les humiliations et
tous les procédés de la répression.
En tant qu’universitaire, je souhaite insister sur un phénomène qui est particulièrement
sensible dans nos milieux, ainsi que parmi les journalistes et chez les éditeurs: un mot est
en passe de devenir tabou, menacé de disparition de la langue autorisée, c’est celui de
«sionisme». Or cette notion est fondamentale, puisque les ennemis des Palestiniens ne
sont ni les Israéliens ni les juifs, mais les sionistes, sur qui repose l’idéologie qui a permis la
création de l’Etat d’Israël, et qui révèle chaque jour un peu plus sa monstruosité. Le
sionisme emprunte toutes les nationalités, toutes les confessions, toutes les origines
familiales, tous les aspects physiques; il est le plus petit dénominateur commun qui relie
ceux qui oeuvrent dans le sens voulu par Sharon et par Bush, pour l’extension à la planète
entière de l’industrie du génocide qui se déploie sous nos yeux, sous prétexte de traquer

quelques terroristes. Lorsque le traumatisme du nazisme était encore très général, la
France s’est dotée, dans un élan de générosité, des lois Pleven et Gayssot pour tenter de
faire barrage à l’extrême droite et à l’antisémitisme traditionnel. Or, depuis le choc du 11
septembre, la donne est complètement différente : on découvre que certains en sont à
détourner ces lois pour intimider les antisionistes, assimilés abusivement à des antisémites.
Un bref séjour en Palestine et la rencontre des meilleurs parmi les Israéliens me donne une
leçon utile pour le contexte français : nous les universitaires devons rendre hommage à ces
rares intellectuels israéliens qui se conduisent de façon exemplaire comme des candidats
déclarés au martyre, comme des kamikazes au niveau de la symbolique. C’est
particulièrement le cas des historiens qui, accumulant les recherches sur des documents
irréfutables autour du sionisme réel, et rejoignant par là les analyses des historiens
palestiniens, encourent les persécutions dans le monde entier. A la différence des
kamikazes, on ne peut pas leur reprocher, en tuant des civils, de masquer le terrorisme
d’Etat, seul responsable du terrorisme de riposte, qui est le signe de l’impuissance générale
à s’opposer aux diktats américains. Ils sont pacifistes, ils ne tuent personne, les historiens
courageux. Mais ils ne trouvent pas de place dans les médias ni chez les éditeurs français,
ils en sont réduits à faire circuler leurs textes dans le ghetto mondialisé que constitue à
certains égards l’internet.
Il est temps de rendre public qu’en France aussi, les sionistes exercent des pressions
énormes pour réduire les antisionistes au silence. Depuis le début de la présente intifada
on en arrive à la situation paradoxale suivante : les lois antiracistes fonctionnent à la
manière des check-point israéliens ; ils font découvrir, par un harcèlement acharné, à des
tas de braves gens, tentés d’écouter leur coeur et leur bon sens, qu’ils sont dans la ligne
de mire de certains, qui empoignent ces lois comme des menaces tous azimuts. Il est
salutaire que les agents français du Mossad se démasquent par là même, et démasquent
aussi ceux qui agissent comme leurs otages. L’un des merveilleux enseignements que je
retire de mon voyage en Palestine dans l’opération «Un avion pour la paix», c’est que,
tandis que les sionistes persécutent les innocents, d’une part les Palestiniens contournent
les barrages militaires pour assurer leur survie sans abandonner leur patrie, d’autre part les
historiens et leurs relais continuent leur travail de fourmis pour défendre le territoire de la
vérité et de l’honneur. C’est grâce à eux tous que nous pouvons gagner la paix avec la
justice.

Universités palestiniennes

De 1988 à 1992, lors de la première Intifada, tout le système éducatif palestinien a été
fermé par l'armée israélienne à titre de punition collective. Ecoles et universités ont été
bouclées et l'accès aux bâtiments interdit pendant quatre ans. On aurait pu penser qu'un
Etat si soucieux de culture et d'éducation les respecterait chez les autres, et qu'une armée
d'occupation ferait le calcul qu'il vaut mieux retenir les jeunes dans les salles de cours que
de les avoir dans la rue, mais on se serait trompé. Le résultat, que je connais bien pour en
avoir fait la triste expérience, est que toute une génération palestinienne a été privée
d'éducation pendant quatre ans. Perte irréparable, que chacun a tenté de compenser à sa
manière, mais qui reste une déchirure béante dans toutes ces vies: qui leur rendra ces
années perdues au moment où l'on apprend le mieux?
Cette situation émut les vieilles universités européennes, habituées depuis le Moyen Âge à
considérer l'éducation comme un bien dont les soldats ni les tyrans ne pouvaient disposer.
Entraînées par les plus anciennes d'entre elles, le groupe dit de Coimbra, elles créèrent un
programme de coopération interuniversitaire, et le baptisèrent PEACE: PalestinianEuropean Academic Cooperationin Education. Ce fut le point de départ d'une vague de
solidarité qui a entraîné nombre d'universités françaises, dont la mienne: avec nos
collègues de Paris-1, Paris-7 et Evry, nous avons créé en 1997 à l'université de Bir-Zeit,
près de Ramallah, un programme de mathématiques appliquées à l'économie qui a
remarquablement fonctionné pendant trois ans.
Aujourd'hui c'est terminé. Bir-Zeit est coupée du reste du monde, comme d'ailleurs toutes
les localités palestiniennes. Les chars israéliens bloquent la route de Ramallah. On ne peut
passer qu'à pied, en contournant les barrages à travers la montagne, et en espérant ne
pas agrémenter le tableau de chasse d'un tireur d'élite. Les taxis collectifs qui amenaient
étudiants et professeurs de Ramallah à Bir-Zeit ne passent plus depuis longtemps, pas plus
d'ailleurs que ceux qui reliaient Ramallah à Jérusalem. Les coopérants français, bardés de

passeports et d'autorisations, mettent plusieurs heures à faire le trajet, une petite vingtaine
de kilomètres. Pour les Palestiniens, circuler en voiture est impossible. Seuls passent les
colons, qui disposent dans toute la Cisjordanie d'un réseau de routes spéciales, sans
barrages bien sûr, mais constamment patrouillées. Gare à qui s'y aventure sans faire partie
du club: un système de plaques d'immatriculation très complet et différencié permet
d'identifier au premier coup d'oeil la provenance de chaque voiture, et ce sont des routes
où les collisions sont moins à craindre que les coups de feu.
La situation est bien pire que lors de la première intifada: ce n'est plus seulement le droit
à l'éducation qui est en jeu, mais le droit à la vie. Je téléphone régulièrement à mes
amis pour prendre de leurs nouvelles, et chacun se veut rassurant. Mais l'un, qui habite BirZeit, me dit que sa femme va accoucher dans un mois. Il sait que, s'il y a un problème, il
n'aura pas accès à l'hôpital de Ramallah: il pourra toujours mettre sa femme dans une
ambulance, elle sera arrêtée au premier barrage, et les soldats la laisseront mourir sur
place, comme cela s'est déjà passé tant de fois. L'autre, qui habite Ramallah, me dit que
chaque fois que les chars tirent, et cela se passe plusieurs fois par jour, c'est toute sa
maison qui tremble. Son plus jeune fils ne dort plus, de peur de faire des cauchemars et de
revoir en rêve ce qu'il a vécu dans la journée. Le plus rassurant est le troisième, qui habite
Bethléhem; il est vrai que la maison où il habite a été attaquée par des colons voici
quelques années, et qu'en comparaison les chars lui paraissent inoffensifs. N'empêche que
l'hôpital pour enfants où travaille sa femme a reçu des obus, et qu'ils ont dû quitter leur
maison, trop exposée, pour se réfugier chez des parents.
Tous ces gens sont professeurs d'université. Bien entendu, ils ne sont pas payés depuis
des mois: toute l'activité économique est arrêtée en Palestine, faute de pouvoir même se
rendre à son travail, et les universités ne sont pas les seules à ne plus avoir d'argent. Mais
ce n'est pas de leur sort que me parlent les collègues: ils me demandent si je pourrais
collecter des fonds en France pour nourrir les étudiants. En effet, ceux-ci sont souvent
coupés de leurs familles, qui habitent des villages et des villes bloqués par l'armée depuis
des mois, comme Hebron, et doivent entretemps se loger et se nourrir, alors que les jours
où l'université fonctionne et où ils peuvent effectivement apprendre se font de plus en plus
rares; ils font durer les maigres fonds qu'ils ont reçus, ou ils vivent de l'hospitalité de gens
aussi pauvres qu'eux, ce qui n'engraisse guère. Et le pire n'est pas encore là: l'hiver arrive,
il est froid en Palestine, il va falloir non seulement se nourrir, mais se chauffer.
A vrai dire, rien de tout cela ne m'étonne: je le voyais venir depuis longtemps, et je n'étais
pas le seul. Depuis les accords d'Oslo, et les espoirs immenses qu'ils avaient suscités dans
la population palestinienne, j'ai assisté à l'extension constante du domaine des colonies, et
à la préparation méticuleuse par l'armée israélienne des affrontements qui allaient
inévitablement s'ensuivre. Voici des années qu'à Bethléhem on me montre la colline de Bar
Homa, alors couronnée d'une forêt, chose rare en Palestine, et qu'on me dit: "les Israéliens
vont y établir une colonie". On le savait bien, car il y avait déjà trois colonies autour de la
ville, l'emprisonnant de trois côtés, et il en fallait une quatrième pour bloquer
complètement le développement de la ville, suivant la stratégie appliquée
systématiquement dans toute la Cisjordanie. J'avais déjà vu Naplouse, Ramallah et Hebron
étranglées par leur ceinture de colonies, mais voir Bar Homa dépouillée de ses arbres, puis
y voir pousser ces constructions blanches à toit rouge qui couronnent déjà tant de collines
de Cisjordanie, incongrus chalets suisses transportés au pays des oliviers, me serre le
coeur. Et je pense à la vue magnifique que l'on aura de là sur la ville de Bethléhem: de si
loin, on ne verra pas les maisons détruites au bulldozer, ni les impacts de balles sur l'église
de la Nativité.
Quant au tombeau de Rachel, dont on parle tant, le lecteur français s'imagine peut-être
une vieille chapelle dans un jardin ombragé. C'est, au bord de la route principale, un vaste
bâtiment sans fenêtre qui a été construit après les accords d'Oslo, soi-disant pour protéger
le lieu saint, en fait un fortin militaire qui contrôle l'entrée de la ville. Il doit faire partie d'un
ensemble plus vaste, permettant de séparer le trafic entre Bethléhem et Jérusalem: d'une
part les cars de touristes et de pèlerins, qui continueront tout droit, d'autre part tout ce qui
est palestinien, y compris les habitants de la ville, qui seront dirigés vers un vaste parking
où ils seront fouillés tout à loisir. Des exemples comme ceux-ci, je pourrais les multiplier
indéfiniment.
Si je prends la plume aujourd'hui, c'est pour dire que la coopération interuniversitaire a
atteint aujourd'hui ses limites: après dix ans d'effort, nous ne pouvons plus rien faire pour
nos collègues palestiniens, sinon d'obtenir que l'occupation cesse. Or, si les Israéliens
veulent vraiment partir, ce dont je doute, ils n'en prennent pas le chemin. Depuis la
signature des accords d'Oslo, le nombre de colons est passé de 50.000 à 200.000, et le
réseau de colonies s'est considérablement étendu. Il a crû sous tous les gouvernements,

de Rabin à Barak en passant par Peres et Netanyahou. Le langage a pu changer, la
politique est restée la même. L'ancien ministre des Affaires Etrangères du gouvernement
Barak, Shlomo Ben- Ami, qui vient de publier un livre sur son expérience [1], consacre à la
question des colonies deux pages sur 360, pour conclure qu'"il ne s'agit pas forcément de
nouveaux projets, mais de contrats déjà conclus que l'on ne peut pas arrêter parce qu'ils
relèvent d'une procédure juridiquement valide". Effectivement, il s 'agit d'un territoire
conquis par les armes en 1967, dont la population souhaite ardemment le départ de
l'occupant, et la procédure en question s'appelle le droit du plus fort. Quant aux accords de
Camp David, que l'on a tant reproché à Arafat de ne pas avoir signé, pour ce que l'on en
sait, ils ne réglaient pas cette question: certaines colonies importantes, comme celle
d'Hebron, devaient subsister encore vingt ans avant d'être démantelées. Pour qui connaît
les colons d'Hebron et la manière dont ils se conduisent, l'idée qu'ils partiraient plus
facilement après être restés vingt ans de plus est à hurler de rire.
La logique de la situation est celle de la destruction mutuelle. La société palestinienne
va sombrer dans la misère et l'anarchie, et l'attentat-suicide sera le seul recours des jeunes
pour échapper à une vie qui ne vaudra plus la peine d'être vécue. La société israélienne
mettra de plus en plus exclusivement sa confiance dans la force militaire et policière,
détruisant les valeurs sur lesquelles elle se fonde, et suscitera contre elle un réveil des
consciences dans le monde entier. Les grands perdants, de part et d'autre, sont d'ores
et déjà les laïques, ceux qui ont voulu construire en Israël ou en Palestine une société sur
le modèle français, où la religion reste du domaine privé et ne peut pas faire obstacle entre
les hommes. C'est cette idée que nous avons cherché à soutenir par notre enseignement,
depuis dix ans, et c'est elle qui est en train de mourir, laissant face à face les fanatiques
des deux bords. Seule une intervention internationale peut éviter cela. Il faut une force
d'interposition, mais cela ne suffit pas: pour donner aux Palestiniens une vie normale, il faut
que les Israéliens évacuent tous les territoires occupés en 1967. Tant qu'on n'en sera pas
arrivé là, le pire sera toujours possible, et notre conscience ne nous laissera pas en repos.

Mouloud Aounit, connu comme le mrapiste de l'Aïd, le roi des moutons, a fait partie du
même voyage. C'est évidemment à L'Humanité que ce stalinoïde a confié ses souvenirs (19
décembre). Il étale ses états d'âme: «Nous dînons avec Yossi Katz et Issam Mahoul, deux
parlementaires de la gauche israélienne ; c'est Michel Warchavski qui fait office d'interprète.
Cette rencontre d'amitié soulage du poids vécu à Gaza. Elle arrive comme une bouffée
d'oxygène, une éclaircie réconfortante, et je me laisse encore à espérer en la paix.» Cette
racaille se sent bien parce qu'il rencontre quelques clones des intellectuels parisiens qui lui
donnent son statut, baratineurs socialistes, marchands de soupe trotzkystes, vendeurs
d'orviétans communistes, barons du bonneteau antiraciste. Les rapports qu'entretiennent
ces faiseurs avec la Palestine sont assez semblables à ceux qui unissent le chien dans sa
niche avec la précession des équinoxes.
CE QUE DISENT LES ROUGE-BRUNS AUTHENTIQUES
D'accord, ce sont des fafs. Mais est-ce que ce qu'ils disent est vrai? Pensez à quelques cas
concrets d'antifascistes d'extrême-gauche. Combien y en a-t-il au gouvernement, au
Parlement, dans la presse, toutes institutions incontestablement bourgeoises? Weber le
soixante-huitard trotz-en-chef maintenant conseiller du rusé Fabius, ministre des
phynances? Et les autres buveurs de sang? Faites le compte.
Litanie contre les corbeaux du système
La première ligne de défense idéologique du système capitaliste et impérialiste contre la
jeunesse et ses aspirations progressistes est l'extrême-gauche antifasciste. La meilleure
arme du système bourgeois libéral contre les aspirations révolutionnaires et alternatives de
la jeunesse est l'extrême-gauche antifasciste. Le plus efficace mode de reproduction de la
domination en Europe n'est pas la télévision. Ce n'est pas l'école, ce ne sont pas les
médias, ni même l'église, la famille ou les organisations culturelles.
Non, le plus efficace mode de reproduction de la domination en Europe est l'existence de
l'extrême-gauche antifasciste. Nul appareil idéologique et militant d'Etat ne possède plus
d'efficacité dans la récupération de la jeunesse et le détournement de ses idéaux vers le
conservatisme politique et réactionnaire.

L'avant-garde conservatrice et réactionnaire de la société capitaliste et impérialiste ne situe
pas à l'extrême-droite. Elle se situe à l'extrême-gauche antifasciste. L'extrême-droite est le
ghetto du conservatisme irrationnel et de la réaction, elle n'en est pas le vecteur principal.
L'extrême-droite est un outil bourgeois de discrédit moral et d'épouvantail nationaliste. A
aucun moment, elle ne représente la fine fleur des appareils de reproduction du système
capitaliste. A aucun moment, elle ne représente l'avant-garde conservatrice et réactionnaire
de la société impérialiste. Seule l'extrêmegauche antifasciste incarne pleinement le
conservatisme irrationnel et la réaction chez la jeunesse et donc au sein des futurs cadres
soumis et obéissants du système capitaliste bourgeois.
L'extrême gauche antifasciste réactionnaire est l'ensemble des organisations de jeunesse
qui prétendent combattre l'extrême-droite. L'extrême-gauche antifasciste réactionnaire est
l'ensemble des organisations qui vident la jeunesse de ses idéaux en canalisant son action
sur une fabrication bourgeoise prétendue fasciste, c'est une structure capitaliste de
récupération et de contrôle qui exploite au berceau la naïveté déroutante de la jeunesse,
destinée finalement à accomplir la reproduction du système. Il n'y a pas de réflexion
idéologique, au sein de l'extrême-gauche antifasciste réactionnaire, il n'y a pas de révolte
contre le système, il n'y a pas de révolution. Il n'y a qu'une obsession dans la lutte contre
un construit politique au service de la bourgeoisie, l'extrême-droite. Les antifascistes de
l'extrême-gauche ont les Don Quichotte du système capitaliste, les pourfendeurs de moulin,
les combattants de l'épouvantail, les esclaves malheureux de l'impérialisme qui s'agitent
contre l'extrême-droite dans un même ballet réactionnaire.
La première ligne de défense du système capitaliste est l'extrême gauche antifasciste
réactionnaire, et ses méthodes d'action privilégiées sont la délation, la stigmatisation et la
dénonciation. En bon produit du système bourgeois, les antifascistes utilisent les mêmes
méthodes que leur équivalent d'extrême-droite.
Aux listes odieuses de délation des réactionnaires de droite qui traquent le communiste ou
le franc-maçon répondent les listes odieuses de délation de l'extrême-gauche antifasciste
réactionnaire qui traquent, au nom de prétextes moraux, les véritables adversaires du
système.
L'extrême-droite, sous toutes ses incarnations idéologiques, est une extension ultime de la
domination capitaliste, son enfant bâtard et honteux, son aboutissement logique et, quand
cela sert ses intérêts, son support privilégié de dénonciation morale et politique. L'extrêmedroite est une production doctrinale qui représente les pires travers de la société
bourgeoise et lui sert de repoussoir idéologique et moral.
L'extrême-droite est une vaste agrégation de pantins politiques aux mains du système
capitaliste. Et l'extrême-gauche antifasciste réactionnaire représente, elle, le rouage
principal de ce processus de conservation et de reproduction de la domination. Elle
récupère la jeunesse au nom de la bourgeoisie impérialiste, elle l'endoctrine et la fanatise
contre ce qui n'est finalement qu'un miroir idéologique et militant.
La récupération idéologique effectuée par le système capitalisme consiste en un contrôle
absolu des idéaux et des aspirations militantes de la jeunesse, en une canalisation de ses
idéaux et aspirations vers un ennemi factice. Pire encore, les méthodes de délation de
l'extrême-gauche antifasciste réactionnaire ne visent pas seulement les épouvantails créés
par la domination, mais aussi les mouvements idéologiques et politiques qui luttent
réellement contre le système capitaliste et la réaction. L'antifascisme est un processus de
détournement de la jeunesse et de discrédit des idéologies alternatives et révolutionnaire.
Là où passe l'antifascisme trépassent la révolution, la lutte des classes, l'anti-impérialisme
et la volonté de combattre la bourgeoisie autoritaire.
Tout, dans les méthodes de l'extrême-gauche antifasciste réactionnaire, rappelle les
principes de l'ordre moral et de la collaboration. L'extrême-gauche antifasciste réactionnaire
est une incarnation actuelle des mouvements de délation et de stigmatisation en vigueur
sous le régime de Vichy. Tandis que la jeunesse perd son indépendance vis-à-vis du
système dans les groupes antifascistes, elle se voit attribuer un adversaire factice, un leurre
grossier, destiné à la curée populaire, aux autodafés moraux et à la vindicte politique. Un
leurre grossier qui ne dupe que les plus naïfs, sachant que l'objectif principal n'est pas
l'antifascisme et la lutte contre une extrême-droite grotesque qui s'auto-parodie à souhait,
mais le discrédit et la délation des ennemis véritables du système capitaliste bourgeois,
ceux qui refusent la récupération idéologique et l'abandon de la logique révolutionnaire.
Les immondes corbeaux du système établissent les listes de la délation. Ils traquent les
biographies, les parcours militants, ils stigmatisent les paroles, en déforment le sens, et
hurlent à la mort dès qu'ils repèrent un adversaire du système capitaliste. Alors ils accusent,
ivres de colère et de vengeance, ils se saoulent d'imprécations, ils brandissent la morale et
montrent à qui veut les écouter où se trouve le monstre fasciste.

Cette méthode, ce néo-pétainisme de l'antifascisme, est ritualisée quand il s'agit de jouer le
jeu du système impérialiste en affrontant l'extrême-droite institutionnelle, galaxie lepéniste
ou autre. Mais lorsqu'un véritable mouvement contestataire apparaît, lorsqu'il montre sa
détermination dans la destruction de la domination capitaliste, alors l'ire délirante et criarde
de l'extrême-gauche antifasciste réactionnaire prend toute son ampleur et dévoile sa nature
réelle de défense du système.
L'antifascisme réactionnaire, qui n'est même plus une extrême-gauche légitime, doit être
considéré comme la principale incarnation militante de la réaction bourgeoise. La coupure
avec le système capitaliste passe par une coupure avec l'antifascisme réactionnaire. Les
groupes prétendus d'extrême-gauche qui le représentent sont une école de la domination,
et un mouroir pour la révolution. Nous, véritables ennemis du système et de son extension
honteuse, le fascisme, affirmons que le combat contre l'extrême-droite doit nécessairement
s'accompagner d'une réflexion sur ses liens avec le système capitaliste. Nous, véritables
révolutionnaires européens, affirmons que l'extrême-gauche antifasciste réactionnaire est
un regroupement odieux de délateurs esclaves de la bourgeoisie, indignes du triangle
rouge de la résistance.
Nous, Nationaux- Bolcheviques, affirmons que le premier acte de la lutte contre la
domination capitaliste autoritaire, et contre son aboutissement logique, le fascisme, sera
d'arracher le triangle rouge de la résistance des mains de l'extrême-gauche antifasciste
réactionnaire qui salit chaque jour ce symbole et le traîne dans la boue du système
réactionnaire.
La véritable lutte contre le fascisme est une lutte contre les faux antifascistes!

COLLECTIF MERDIQUE
Une réunion unitaire nationale s'est tenue à Paris ce mercredi 5 décembre. Etaient
présents: LDH, MRAP, AFPS, UJFP, AIJD, Mouvement de la paix, A P F, Coordination R P
des comités de solidarité, FASTI, FSU, G10, SUD- PTT, LCR, JCR, LO, Alternatifs, les
Verts, PCOF. Le PCF avait décliné l'invitation et la CGT était absente. Plusieurs
organisations issues de l'immigration (FTCR, AMF, ATMF), palestiniennes ( Délégation de
l'OLP à l'Unesco, AFPEC) ou issues de la mouvance juive progressiste (RPJ) s'étaient
excusés. La réunion a débouché sur un appel national (ci-joint). Ce texte se conclut
notamment par un appel à exprimer partout en France la solidarité avec le peuple
palestinien et avec les forces de paix en Israël. Sa négociation a été laborieuse,
notamment pour ce qui est de la condamnation des attentats-suicide en Israël. Sur cette
base, un premier rassemblement aura lieu à Paris, dimanche 9 décembre, à 15 heures, à
proximité de la Délégation générale de Palestine (Métro Convention). Une nouvelle
rencontre unitaire aura lieu lundi soir, afin de discuter d'une perspective de grande
manifestation dans les jours suivants. Texte d'appel:
Pour une force internationale de paix et de protection en Palestine
[...] Nous condamnons sans réserves les attentats visant les populations civiles
israéliennes. Cette impasse est le produit direct de la logique de guerre, d'escalade, de
refus de tout dialogue, dont les dirigeants israéliens ont pris la responsabilité.
Ces peigne-zizi ont le front de condamner les mesures d'auto-défense prises par les
mouvements populaires de résistance contre l'occupant. C'est leur droit d'abonder ainsi
dans le sens de ce que souhaitent les occupants. Ils peuvent bien faire une"manifestation
unitaire" pour la libération des pingouins. Mais les Palestiniens, eux, sous le feu des chars
et des hélicoptères fournis gracieusement par les USA, sont d'un avis différent. Ils luttent et
veulent continuer la lutte, non pas pour la paix d'Oslo qui signifie leur mise en esclavage
définitif, mais pour une fin de l'occupation garantie par le départ des occupants. Qu'ils
retournent au Birobidjan! Ces organisations molles de la tronche ne participent en rien à la
solidarité avec les Palestiniens en lutte. Elles se grattent le nombril.
Comme le petit Vidal qui écrit dans Manières de voir (No 60): «Cette "vengeance"
(l'exécution d'un ministre israélien particulièrement toxique) allait se révéler une grave faute
politique. Elle offrit au général Sharon le prétexte de l'escalade dont il rêvait.» Comment de
si lamentables petits biquets parisien, élevés dans la ouate et baignés au lait Guigoz,
peuvent-ils se permettre de "juger" de la stratégie des combattants sur le terrain et leur
donner des leçons ? Leur dire que Sharon avait besoin d'un "prétexte" ? Qu'ils restent

dans leurs bergeries parfumées et qu'ils commentent les roucoulades des sauce-dèm, mais
qu'ils ne parlent pas de la guerre.

A keynote research paper showing that Middle Eastern Jews and Palestinians are
genetically almost identical has been pulled from a leading journal.
Academics who have already received copies of Human Immunology have been urged to
rip out the offending pages and throw them away. Such a drastic act of self-censorship
is unprecedented in research publishing and has created widespread disquiet, generating
fears that it may involve the suppression of scientific work that questions Biblical dogma.
«I have authored several hundred scientific papers, some for Nature and Science,
and this has never happened to me before,'said the article's lead author, Spanish
geneticist Professor Antonio Arnaiz- Villena, of Complutense University in Madrid.'I
am stunned.'»
British geneticist Sir Walter Bodmer added: «If the journal didn't like the paper, they
shouldn't have published it in the first place. Why wait until it has appeared befor eacting
like this?» The journal's editor, Nicolesucio-Foca, of Columbia University, New York, claims
the article provoked such a welter of complaints over its extremepoliticalwriting that she was
forced to repudiate it. The article has been removed from Human Immunology's website,
while letters have been written to libraries and universities throughout the world asking them
to ignore or 'preferably to physically remove the relevant pages'. Arnaiz- Villena has
been sacked from the journal's editorial board. [C'est à peu de choses près ce que le

American Society of Histocompatibility and Immunogenetics, which runs the journal, told

The paper, "The Origin of Palestinians and their Genetic Relatedness with other
Mediterranean Populations", involved studying genetic variations in immune system genes
among people in the Middle East. In common with earlier studies, the team found no data
to support the idea that Jewish people were genetically distinct from other people in
the region. In doing so, the team's research challenges claims that Jews are a special,
chosen people and that Judaism can only be inherited.

article was politically biased and was written using 'inappropriate' remarks about the
Israeli-Palestinian conflict. Its editor told the journal Nature last week that she was

OPINION
Installé dans la partie orientale de Jérusalem, le Jerusalem Media and Communication
Center (JMCC) remplit à la fois les fonctions d'agence de presse et d'institut de sondage.
Selon son directeur, Ghassan Khatib, l'état de l'opinion palestinienne se caractérise,
depuis le début de l'Intifada, par une radicalisation croissante. Elle se traduit par un
soutien grandissant apporté aux attentats-suicides ou bien dans le rejet d'Israël, alors
qu'auparavant une majorité de Palestiniens exprimaient le voeu que deux Etats puissent
cohabiter. M. Khatib estime qu'une partie de cette radicalisation est purement émotionnelle
mais qu'elle est néanmoins en train de s'enraciner, en particulier parmi la jeunesse. Cette

radicalisation s'accompagne d'un regard de plus en plus critique porté sur l'Autorité
palestinienne de Yasser Arafat, dont la popularité ne cesse de décliner depuis le début de
l'Intifada.

Comité Parlamentario de Restitución, las demandas judías a los países árabes

Apartheid South Africa and Israel caused the main discussions in the previous two world
anti-racism conferences- 1978 and 1983. South Africa has since been liberated and antiracism activists around the world are demanding Israel be discussed at the Durban antiracism conference.
Why this clamour from activists, scholars and international civil society? Because Zionism is
racism and Israel -- Zionism in practice -- is an apartheid state.
"There is no such thing as a Palestinian people." -- Golda Meir.
"There is no other way than to transfer the Arabs from here to neighbouring
countries...all of them; not one village, not one tribe, should be left." -- Joseph
Weitz, 1967.
"The only good Arab is a dead Arab. When we have settled the land, all the Arabs
will be able to do about it will be to scurry around like drugged cockroaches." -Rafael Eitan, Likud, 1981.
"It is forbidden to be merciful to them... Evil ones, damnable ones. May the Holy

Israeli Minister of the Interior Eli Yesha's response to Yosef:" They reflected the over all
state of thinking of the Israeli Jewish society."

Clearly, Zionism is a theory of ethnic cleansing and racism. It's not just Jewish nationalism
as often argued. It was created as political nationalism in the heart of Europe to grab land
belonging to people faraway. And it carried the European ideological view of nonEuropeans as insignificant. On the basis of this view, apartheid Israel developed an
elaborate system of discriminatory policies and laws to subjugate the natives. One of the
world's most discriminatory practices is Israel's policy of "redeeming" the land by placing
ownership exclusively in Jewish hands. Israel Shahak wrote: "The land which has been
redeemed is the land which has passed from non-Jewish to Jewish ownership... The land
which belongs to non-Jews is, on the contrary, considered to be unredeemed." The notion
that land possessed by the other remains"unredeemed"is the worst kind of national
chauvinism. Racism?
Israel's law of Return is another racist law. By it the state must accommodate any Jews from
anywhere in the world that might, at any time, migrate to Israel . If four-million Jews
suddenly emigrate to Israel/Palestine, the Israeli government will accommodate them. In
contrast, four-million Palestinians that were dispossessed of their land and forced into exile
when Israel was formed have no right of return because -- in Ehud Barak's words -- it would
be "national suicide". National suicide when the returnees are Palestinians wanting to
return to the land of their birth but not when the immigrants are foreign Jews? Racism?
(How foreigners to a land can"return"to it is itself amazing.) How many nations in the world
today openly boast of segregation? A Barak campaign billboard in 1999 proclaimed:"Peace
Through Separation: Us Here Them Over There." Racism?
Israeli apologists make much of "Israeli Arabs" (Palestinians within the 1948 borders) being
"allowed" to vote. Yet they exist as third-class Israeli citizens. They are discriminated against
for housing, education, social services, welfare benefits and employment. Electricity,
sewerage, roads and water are provided free to Israeli households while many Palestinian
communities in Israel still do not have adequate services.
But this cannot compare to the discrimination in West Bank and Gaza. Sixty per cent of
West Bank land is "owned" by Israelis in settlements regarded as illegal by international law.
In Gaza 6000 settlers own 42% of the land. An Israeli settler in Gaza consumes 2000m3 of
water while a Palestinian is allowed only 120m3! Racism?
Israeli inhabitants are required to carry identity cards. Shahak says these can list the official
nationality of a person- Jewish, Arab, Druze...- but not Israeli. When left-wing Israelis
applied for identity cards identifying them as Israeli or Israeli- Jew, the Interior Ministry
rejected their requests. A "democracy" that requires citizens'identity cards stipulating ethnoreligious identity without mentioning nationality? Racism?
"I believe Zionism is racism," said Rabee' Sahyoun, "because I am a Palestinian, and
without recognising the colonialist component in Zionism, I cannot explain its racist
character, a Western movement uprooting the native peoples of Palestine: Muslim,
Christian, Jew, Samaritan alike... I believe Zionism is racism because it fails to admit that the
minority indigenous Jewish community in Palestine that lived there for the past 2000 years
was an indistinguishable people from its Christian and Muslim Palestinian brethren, and that
the leader of the Jewish community of the Jewish quarter of Old Jerusalem, Rabbi Lamram
Blau, stood on the side of his Palestinian brothers and sisters being exiled in1948."
Six decades ago the world watched as Jews were humiliated, despised, projected as
unworthy of respect, dignity or legal protection and faced stateterrorism. By the end of the
Holocaust, the world said "Never again!" Today the world watches as Palestinians are
humiliated, despised, projected as unworthy of respect, dignity or legal protection and face
state-terrorism. Again?
" It is extraordinary,"said Lord Yehudi Menuhin,"how nothing ever dies completely. Even the
evil which prevailed yesterday in Nazi Germany is gaining ground in that country [Israel ]
today."

Guenter Grass, the internationally prominent writer, has come under fire from Germany's
most important Jewish community leader for criticizing Israel . Paul Spiegel, president of the
Central Council of Jews in Germany, said in Munich that Grass has "joined the ranks of
those non-Jewish intellectuals in Germany who for years have tried, directly or indirectly, to
call into question Israel's existence as a state." Grass, who holds a Nobel Prize for
Literature, had said: "Israel must not only get out of occupied territories. Even the seizure of
Palestinian land is a criminal act. This must not only stop, it must be revoked. Otherwise
peace will never be restored there." Commenting on this, Spiegel said: "If one examines his
words more closely, then his message is: Israel must vanish." With these words, Grass
places himself "on a level with Israel's radical enemies."

La dangereuse confusion des juifs de France

Disons-le sans détour, la question du sionisme est dépassée. Pourtant l'amalgame
systématique entre antisionisme et antisémitisme est devenu la nouvelle arme d'intimidation
des "amis d'Israël".
Les accusations d'antisémitisme lancées par les institutions juives de France à l'encontre
des médias français, la violence passionnelle des réactions et l'opprobre jeté sur toute
attitude critique à l'égard d'Israël témoignent de la confusion et de l'échauffement des
esprits. Confondant non-sionisme et antisémitisme, ces réactions se multiplient depuis que
la guerre coloniale en Palestine-Israël redouble de violence. Ainsi, les institutions juives de
France font peser aujourd'hui un danger sur les juifs et le judaïsme, et plus particulièrement
sur la cohabitation entre Français juifs et musulmans au sein de la République.
Que des juifs en France se sentent aujourd'hui concernés par le sort des Israéliens qui ont
élu avec une large majorité un premier ministre d'extrême-droite et sont aujourd'hui piégés
dans une situation politique et identitaire à laquelle ils ne voient pas d'issue, c'est légitime.
Mais que la communauté juive de France et son grand rabbin s'enferment dans un soutien
inconditionnel à la situation coloniale et meurtrière qui prévaut depuis plus de cinquante
ans en Israël-Palestine, c'est inacceptable.
On en est arrivé à confondre la signification mystique que revêt la terre d'Israël dans le
judaïsme avec une revendication territoriale qui n'a plus rien à voir avec la sécurité. Israël
est aujourd'hui le seul endroit du monde où les juifs sont menacés physiquement en tant
que tels. Le C R I F déclare pourtant que les juifs de France,"inquiets de voir les jeunes
musulmans transporter en France le conflit du Proche- Orient", sont prêts à envisager
d'émigrer en Israël pour s'y réfugier.
Une minorité de juifs de France prend au sérieux la grande angoisse de la société juive
israélienne face à l'évolution démographique favorable aux Arabes et émigre en Israël.
Pour la plupart religieux intégristes, ils choisissent de s'installer dans les colonies de
peuplement en Cisjordanie et dans la bande de Gaza. Si la majorité des juifs de France (de
loin la plus grande communauté d'Europe) restent attachés à une République qui leur
permet de vivre leur judaïsme dans toutes les nuances qu'on lui connaît aujourd'hui, ils
représentent pourtant, selon les propres termes de l'Agence juive, le "dernier réservoir"
d'immigration vers Israël.
Dans les synagogues et les centres communautaires juifs, le drapeau israélien et la collecte
d'argent au bénéfice d'Israël ont tendance à prendre la place des symboles religieux
traditionnels. Les fonctionnaires de "l'office israélien de l'explication" et de l'ambassade

d'Israël en France comme des officiers de l'armée israélienne accompagnent des dirigeants
communautaires. Quant à la sécurité des institutions juives, elle est assurée par les services
d'ordre des mouvements de jeunesse sionistes, secondés et entraînés par des membres
de la sûreté israélienne.
C'est ainsi que s'opère le déplacement du domaine politique vers le religieux. Identifiés
comme des institutions de soutien à Israël, les synagogues et centres communautaires
deviennent, dans cette confusion, des cibles d'attaques criminelles, qui, par ailleurs,
doivent être punies en tant que telles.
Mais, en qualifiant d'antisémites les positions non sionistes et critiques portées à l'égard de
la politique israélienne et, délégitimant un point de vue politique en le confondant avec un
propos raciste, les institutions juives communautaires françaises jouent aux apprentis
sorciers et deviennent elles-mêmes vecteurs de violence.
Pour les juifs pratiquants, le judaïsme n'est pas une question. Pour des juifs laïques, en
revanche, tiraillés entre universalisme et crispation identitaire, le sionisme est devenu une
religion de substitution. De ces juifs en mal d'identité, Yeshayahu Leibowitz, le philosophe
israélien, religieux et sioniste, disait: "Pour la plupart des juifs qui se déclarent tels, le
judaïsme n'est plus que le bout de chiffon bleu et blanc hissé en haut d'un mât et les
actions militaires que l'armée accomplit en leur nom pour ce symbole. L'héroïsme au combat
et la domination, voilà leur judaïsme."
Le génocide des juifs est identifié comme un holocauste et un terme biblique Lui a été
attaché," Shoah". Ce transfert dans le registre du sacré arrache l'événement à sa gravité
politique. La culture victimaire devient un pilier de l'identité juive laïque. Les autres, et en
premier lieu les Palestiniens, sont sommés de prouver leur souffrance, car ils ne seraient
que les victimes des victimes…
En 1990, pendant la première Intifada, le même Leibowitz constatait: "rien de plus
confortable que de se définir par rapport à ce que les autres nous ont fait. Nous nous
sentons ainsi dispensés de nous poser la question "qui sommes-nous?" et de tout examen
de conscience."
En votant à l'ONU en 1947 le partage de la Palestine qui attribuait environ 60% du territoire
à la minorité juive et 40% à la majorité arabe, le monde occidental voyait là un moyen de se
racheter après la catastrophe du génocide. A cela s'ajoutaient la mentalité coloniale de
l'époque et son mépris à l'égard des populations indigènes. Le monde occidental semblait
faire sienne l'idée sioniste selon laquelle les juifs sont partout en transit, à l'exception de ce
bout de terre qu'ils revendiquaient et qui leur était désormais attribué. Les Arabes
refusèrent ce partage inégal.
Contrairement à ce qui est fréquemment affirmé, ils ne s'en tinrent pas à un simple rejet. Le
représentant du Haut Comité arabe pour la Palestine avait proposé le projet d'un Etat binational. Et la communauté des nations est restée sourde à diverses propositions d'un plan
pour un Etat fédéré.
Le territoire de la Palestine historique (Israël, territoires occupés et zones autonomes)
comporte aujourd'hui environ 4 millions de Palestiniens et 5 millions de juifs. La question du
droit au retour des réfugiés palestiniens expulsés en 1948 ajoute une complexité
supplémentaire au dénouement du conflit. Comment faire accepter à un Palestinienn né à
Jaffa qu'il n'a pas le droit d'y revenir, alors qu'un juif né à Paris peut, lui, s'y installer? Dans
cette logique, le partage de la terre et la séparation entre Israéliens et Palestiniens semble
s'imposer. Mais, à moins d'envisager un nouveau transfert de populations, il semble
impossible de dessiner des frontières vivables entre des communautés aussi imbriquées sur
le terrain.
Le partage est aussi illusoire que la croyance, pour "corriger" la donne démographique, en
une grande vague d'immigration juive qui serait provoquée par la résurgence de
l'antisémitisme en Occident.
Pourtant les apprentis sorciers continuent à jouer la carte de la panique en brandissant le
spectre de l'antisémitisme. Ils montrent ainsi leur incapacité à sortir d'une vision
manichéenne et archaïque des rapports de force.
Pour rompre le cercle vicieux de la haine et de la vengeance, il convient, au contraire, de
faire appel à l'intervention des nations qui furent à l'origine de l'erreur historique de 1947. Il
est temps d'en appeler à la raison et d'abandonner des conceptions nationalistes et
théocratiques dont l'Histoire du XXe siècle a largement démontré les limites et le coût
humain.
Seule une vision républicaine, démocratique et laïque persuadera les peuples israélien et
palestinien qu'ils peuvent vivre -- et pas seulement mourir -- sur le même territoire.
S'ils souhaitent sincèrement favoriser une solution au conflit du Proche-Orient et voir leurs
amis ou parents israéliens vivre enfin en paix, les Français juifs ont bel et bien un rôle à

jouer. Premiers dans l'Histoire à bénéficier des bienfaits des principes républicains, pour
quoi n'encouragent-ils pas les Israéliens à s'engager dans une voie similaire?
Pourquoi ne s'appliquent-ils pas à développer en France des relations harmonieuses avec
la communauté musulmane au lieu de l'accuser d'importer en France le conflit du ProcheOrient? Leur exemple serait une vraie contribution à la paix et servirait plus le judaïsme que
le drapeau israélien.

"...after 19 years, perhaps the truth at last.
Chilling new evidence suggests that more than 1,000 Palestinian survivors of the Sabra
and Chatila camp massacres in Beirut were "disappeared" within 24 hours of the slaughter,
often in areas under direct Israel imilitary control.
The testimony - which describes in detail how the victims were last seen by their families in
the hands of Israeli troops and Israel's militia allies - will be among the material to be
considered by a Belgian judge, who could decide today whether the Israeli Prime Minister,
Ariel Sharon, should be prosecuted for the slaughter.
Mr Sharon was judged "personally responsible" for the massacre by the Israeli Kahan
Commission in 1983. Its report concluded that hundreds of Palestinian civilians, including
women and children, were all butchered between 16 and 18 September in 1982.
But among the female witnesses cited by lawyers in Belgium, who are seeking the
indictment against Mr Sharon, are at least five who claim that more than 100 men were
detained by the militia men and handed over to the Israelis alive. They were never seen
again.
Separately from the court action, film taken by a television crew at the time, which has
recently come to light, appears to show Israeli officers in the presence of Phalangist
gunmen - long after the Israelis knew their Phalangist allies had carried out the massacre,
which caused worldwide outrage and led Mr Sharon, then Defence Minister, to resign.

There has always been a discrepancy between the number of bodies found in Sabra and
Chatila - up to 600 - and the number of civilians registered as missing - more than 1,800.
Until now, it was assumed that all the victims had been murdered by Phalangists and that
many had been secretly buried.
If accepted by the court, the new evidence could hold disturbing implications for both the
Israeli army and for Mr Sharon, particularly if the Israelis continued their collaboration with
the Phalange after the murders in the camps and if they permitted the Phalange to take
away more prisoners.

Sabra And Chatila - Perhaps The Truth At last, After 19 Years

Sana Sersawi speaks carefully, loudly but slowly, as she recalls the chaotic, dangerous,
desperately tragic events that overwhelmed her just over 19 years ago, on 18 September
1982. As one of the survivors prepared to testify against the Israeli prime minister Ariel
Sharon - who was then Israel's defence minister - she stops to search her memory when
she confronts the most terrible moments of her life. "The Lebanese Forces militia
[Phalangists] had taken us from our homes and marched us up to the entrance to the camp
where a large hole had been dug in the earth. The men were told to get in to it. Then the
militia men shot a Palestinian. The women and children had climbed over bodies to reach
this spot, but we were truly shocked by seeing this man killed in front of us and there was a
roar of shouting and screams from the women. That's when we heard the Israelis on loud
speakers shouting, 'Give us the men, give us the men.' We thought, 'Thank God, they will
save us.'" It was to prove a cruelly false hope.
Mrs Sersawi, three months pregnant, saw her husband Hassan, 30, and her Egyptian
brother-in-law Farajel- Sayed Ahmed standing in the crowd of men. "We were told to walk
up the road towards the Kuwaiti embassy, the women and children in front, the men
behind. We had been separated. There were Phalangist militia men and Israeli soldiers
walking along side us. I could still see Hassan and Faraj. It was like a parade.
There were several hundred of us. When we got to the Cité Sportive, the Israelis put us
women in a big concrete room and the men were taken to another side of the stadium.
There were a lot of men from the camp and I could no longer see my husband. The Israel is
went round saying 'Sit, sit.' It was 11 am. An hour later, we were told to leave. But we stood
around outside amid the Israeli soldiers, waiting for our men."
Sana Sersawi waited in the bright, swelteringsunfor Hassan and Faraj to emerge." Some
men came out, none of them younger than 40, and they told us to be patient, that
hundreds of men were still inside. Then about 4 pm, an Israeli officer came out. He was
wearing dark glasses and said in Arabic: 'What are you all waiting for?' He said there was
nobody left, that everyone had gone. There were Israeli trucks moving out with tarpaulin
over them. We couldn't see inside. And there were jeeps and tanks and a bulldozer making
a lot of noise. We stayed there as it got dark and the Israelis appeared to be leaving and
we were very nervous. But then when the Israelis had moved away, we went inside. And
there was no one there. Nobody. I had been only three years married. I never saw my
husband again."
Today, a Belgian appeals court will begin a hearing to decide if Prime Minister Sharon
should be prosecuted for the massacre of Palestinian civilians at the Sabra and Chatila
refugee camps in Beirut in 1982. (Belgian laws allow courts to try foreigners for war crimes
committed on foreign soil.) In working on this case, the prosecution believes that it has
discovered shocking new evidence of Israel's involvement.
The evidence centres on the Camille Chamoun Sports Stadium - the "Cité Sportive". Only
two miles from Beirut airport, the damaged stadium was a natural holding centre for
prisoners. It had been an ammunition dump for Yasser Arafat's PLO and repeatedly
bombed by Israeli jets during the 1982 siege of Beirut so that its giant, smashed exterior
looked like a nightmare denture. The Palestinians had earlier mined its cavernous interior,
but its vast, underground storage space and athletics changing-rooms remained intact. It
was a familiar land mark to all of us who lived in Beirut. At mid-morning on 18 September
1982 - about the time Sana Sersawisays she was brought to the stadium - I saw hundreds
of Palestinian and Lebanese prisoners, probably well over1,000, sitting in its gloomy, dark
interior, squatting in the dust, watched over by Israeli soldiers and plain-clothes Shin Beth
(Israeli secret service) agents and men who I suspected were Lebanese collaborators. The
men sat in silence, obviously in fear. From time to time, I noted, a few were taken away.

They were put into Israeli army trucks or jeeps or Phalangist vehicles - for further
"interrogation".
Nor did I doubt this. A few hundred metres away, inside the Sabra and Chatila Palestinian
refugee camps, up to 600 massacre victims rotted in the sun, the stench of decomposition
drifting over the prisoners and their captors alike. It was suffocatingly hot. Loren Jenkins of
The Washington Post, Paul Eedle of Reuters and I had only got into the cells because the
Israelis assumed - given our Western appearance - that we must have been members of
Shin Beth. Many of the prisoners had their heads bowed. But Israel's Phalangist militia
men-still raging at the murder of their leader and president elect Bashir Gemayel - had been
withdrawn from the camps, theirs laughter over, and at least the Israeli armywas now in
charge. So what did these men have to fear?
Looking back -- and listening to Sana Sersawi today -- I shudder now at our innocence. My
notes of the time, subsequently written into a book about Israel's 1982 invasion and its war
with the PLO, contain some ominous clues. We found a Lebanese employee of Reuters,
Abdullah Mattar, among the prisoners and obtained his release, Paul leading him away with
his arm around the man's shoulders. "They take us away, one by one, for interrogation,"
one of the prisoners muttered to me. "They are Haddad [Christianmilitia] men. Usually they
bring the people back after interrogation, but not always. Sometimes the people do not
return them." Then an Israeli officer ordered me to leave. Why couldn't the prisoners talk to
me, I asked? "They can talk if they want," he replied. "But they have nothing to say."
All the Israelis knew what had happened inside the camps. The smell of the corpses was
now overpowering. Outside, a Phalangist jeep with the words" Military Police"painted on it if so exotic an institution could be associated with this gang of murderers - drove by. A few
television crews had turned up. One filmed the Lebanese Christian militiamen outside the
Cité Sportive. He also filmed a woman pleading to an Israeli army colonel called "Yahya" for
there lease of her husband. (The colonel has now been positively identified by The
Independent. Today, he is a general in the Israeli army.)
Along the main road opposite the stadium there was a line of Israeli Merkava tanks, their
crews sitting on the turrets, smoking, watching the men being led from the stadium in one
sortwos, some being set free, others being led away by Shin Beth men or by Lebanese
men in drab khaki overalls. All these soldiers knew what had happened inside the camps.
One of the members of the tank crews, Lt Avi Grabovsky -- he was later to testify to the
Israeli Kahan commission -- had even witnessed the murder of several civilians the previous
day and had been told not to "interfere".
And in the days that followed, strange reports reached us. A girl had been dragged from a
car in Damour by Phalangist militia men and taken away, despite her appeals to a nearby
Israeli soldier. Then the cleaning lady of a Lebanese woman who worked for a US television
chain complained bitterly that Israelis had arrested her husband. He was never seen again.
There were other vague rumours of "disappeared" people.
I wrote in my notes at the time that "even after Chatila, Israel's 'terrorist' enemies were being
liquidated in West Beirut". But I had not directly associated this dark conviction with the Cité
Sportive. I had not even reflected on the fearful precedents of a sports stadium in time of
war.
Hadn't there been a sports stadium in Santiago a few years before, packed with prisoners
after Pinochet's coup d'etat, a stadium from which many prisoners never returned?
Among the testimonies gathered by lawyers seeking to indict Ariel Sharon for war crimes is
that of Wadha al-Sabeq. On Friday, 17 September 1982, she said, while the massacre was
still (unknown to her) underway inside Sabra and Chatila, she was in her home with her
family in Bir Hassan, just opposite the camps. "Neighbours came and said the Israelis
wanted to stamp our ID cards, so we went downstairs and we saw both Israelis and
Lebanese Forces [Phalangists] on the road. The men were separated from the women.
"This separation -- with its awful shadow of similar separations at Srebrenica during the
Bosnian war -- were a common feature of these mass arrests." We were told to go to the
Cité Sportive. The men stayed put."Among the men were Wadha's two sons, 19-year-old
Mohamed and 16-year-old Ali and her brother Mohamed. "We went to the Cité Sportive, as
the Israelis told us," she says."I never saw my sons or brother again."
The survivors tell distressingly similar stories. Bahija Zrein says she was ordered by an Israeli
patrol to go to the Cité Sportive and the men with her, including her 22-year-old brother,
were taken away. Some militia men -- watched by the Israelis -- loaded him into a car,
blindfolded, she claims." That's how he disappeared," she says in her official testimony,
"and I have never seen him again since."
It was only a few days afterwards that we journalists began to notice a discrepancy in the
figures of dead. While up to 600 bodies had been found inside Sabra and Chatila, 1,800

civilians had been reported as "missing". We assumed -- how easy assumptions are in war -that they had been killed in the three days between 16 September 1982 and the
withdrawal of the Phalangist killers on the 18th, that their corpses had been secretly buried
outside the camp. Beneath the golf course, we suspected. The idea that many of these
young people had been murdered outside the camps or after the 18th, that the killings
were still going on while we walked through the camps, never occurred to us.
Why did we not think of this at the time? The following year, the Israeli Kahane commission
published its report, condemning Sharon but ending its own inquiry of the atrocity on 18
September, with just a one-line hint -- unexplained -- that several hundred people may have
"disappeared" at about the same time. The commission interviewed no Palestinian survivors
but it was allowed to become the narrative of history. The idea that the Israelis went on
handing over prisoners to their bloodthirsty militia allies never occurred to us. The
Palestinians of Sabra and Chatila are now giving evidence that this is exactly what
happened. One man, Abdel Nasser Alameh, believes his brother Ali was handed to the
Phalange on the morning of the 18th. A Palestinian Christian woman called Milaneh
Boutros has recorded how, in a truck-load of women and children, she was taken from the
camps to the Christian town of Bikfaya, the home of the newly assassinated Christian
president-elect Bashir Gemayel, where a grief-stricken Christian woman ordered the
execution of a 13-year-old boy in the truck. He was shot. The truck must have passed at
least four Israeli checkpoints on its way to Bikfaya. And heaven spare me, I realise now that
I had even met the woman who ordered the boy's execution.
Even before the slaughter inside the camps had ended, Shahira Abu Rudeina says she
was taken to the Cité Sportive where, in one of the underground "holding centres", she saw
a retarded man, watched by Israeli soldiers, burying bodies in a pit. Her evidence might be
rejected were it not for the fact that she also expressed her gratitude for an Israeli soldier -inside the Chatila camp, against all the evidence given by the Israelis -- who prevented the
murder of her daughters by the Phalange.
Long after the war, the ruins of the Cité Sportive were torn down and a brand new marble
stadium was built in its place, partly by the British.
Pavarotti has sung there. But the testimony of what may lie beneath its foundations -- and
its frightful implications -- might give Ariel Sharon further reason to fear an indictment.

The Afghan King and the Nazis: A German Dispatch from 1940 Shows King Mohammed
Zahir Shah's True Colors

Some weeks ago, I predicted a rapid defeat of the Taliban. It was obvious that without the
military and logistical support of their creators--the Pakistan Army-- they would collapse, but
the price being paid for this "victory" is unacceptable.
The Northern Alliance is a confederation of monsters. Attaching dissidents to the chains of
a tank and crushing them in public view, executing defenceless prisoners, extracting gold
teeth from corpses, raping men and women, are all part of a day's work for these guardians
of the heroin trade.
Blemishes of yesteryear? No such luck. Much of this is going on today under the approving
gaze of US marines, CIA agents and the handful of SAS men that Blair was allowed. And
where will the 2000 German troops now be sent? To Iraq? Europe has been spared
pictures of most of these atrocities, because the perpetrators are "our friends", but Arab
viewers knew what was going on long before the massacre of Mazar-e-Sharif. The Geneva
Convention is being violated every single day.
From being told that they were not allowed to take Kabul, the Alliance have now been
promoted to the full status of "our allies". Just like Osama Bin Laden and his praetorian
guard in the glory days of the Cold War. Learn nothing. Forget nothing.
The facts are these: the situation in Afghanistan is inherently unstable.
Only fantasists could suggest other wise. The notion that the Alliance in its present form
could last out a few years is risible. Turfwars have already begun in "liberated" Kabul,

though open clashes have been avoided. There is too much at stake. The West is
watching. Money has been promised. Putin and Khatami are urging caution. But the dam
will burst sooner rather than later.
Once the Marines depart with or without the head of Bin Laden, the Alliance will discover
that there is no money for anything these days except waging war. The boy-scout
propaganda that "we're re-making the world" is designed for domesticconsumption. Schools
and hospitals and homes are not going to be sprouting next spring or the one after in
Afghanistan or Kosovo. Andif the 87 year-old King Zahir Shahis wheeled over from Rome,
what then ?
Nothing much, thinks the West, except to try and convince the pashtuns that their interests
are being safeguarded.
Judging from past form indicates that Zahir Shah might not be satisfied with the status quo.
His people were in fine fettle at the Afghan summit in Bonn, where they were put up in the
hotel where Neville Chamberlain used to stay.
A document from the German Foreign Office, dated 3 October, 1940 (cracked by the
Enigma decoder during the Second World War) makes fascinating reading.
It is from State Secretary Weizsacker to the German legation in Kabul and is worthquoting
in some detail:
"The Afghan Minister called on me on September 30 and conveyed greetings from his
Minister President and the War Minister, as well as their good wishes for a favourable
outcome of the war. He inquired whether German aims in Asia coincided with Afghan
hopes; he alluded to the oppression of Arab countries and referred to the 15 million
Afghans [pashtuns, mainly in the North West Frontier Province--- TA] who were forced to
suffer on Indian territory. My statement that Germany's goal was the liberation of the
peoples of the region referred to, who were under the British yoke, as well as therestoration
of their rights, was received with satisfaction by the Afghan Minister. He stated that justice
for Afghanistan would be created only when the country's frontier had been extended to
the Indus; this would also apply if India should secede from Britain... The Afghan remarked
that Afghanistan had given proof of her loyal a ttitude by vigorously resisting English
pressure to break off relations with Germany. Today he wanted to present Afghanistan's
wishes as a matter of precaution, but he requested strict secrecy; he called a fulfilment of
these wishes a matter for the future."
The King who had dispatched the Minister to Berlin was the 26-year old Zahir Shah. The
Minister-President was his uncle sardar Muhammad Hashim Khan. What is interesting in the
German dispatch is not so much the hatred for Britain, which was normal at that time. It is
the desire for a Greater Afghanistan by the incorporation of what is now Pakistan's NorthWest Frontier Province and its capital Peshawar. Zahir Shah's return is being strongly
resisted by Pakistan. They know that the King never accepted the Durand Line, not even
as a temporary border. They are concerned that he might encourage pashtun nationalism.
Islamabad's decision to hurl the Taliban into battle and take Kabul was partially designed to
solve the pashtun question. Religion might transcend ethnic nationalism. Instead the two
combined. A proto- Taliban group, Tehrik-e-Nifaz-i-Shariah-e-Mohammed (TNSM) seized a
large chunk of Swat during Benazir Bhutto's government. It forced women to veil
themselves in "burqas", banned watching television and had a public bonfire of TV sets
and videos (in Italy this could be seen as a protest against Berlusconi, but not in Pakistan!)
imposed "Islamic punishments" including amputations.
Bhutto was helpless and paralysed, but last week Musharraf imprisoned the TNSM leader,
Soofi Mohammed Saeed. Coming on the heels of the Taliban defeat this could create an
ugly atmosphere in parts of the country, especially since many Taliban have returned to
Pakistan.
Not all the repercussions of this crude war of revenge have come to the fore, but the
surface calm in Pakistan is deceptive. With armed fundamentalists of the lashkar-e-Taiba
threatening to "take on the government" if attempts are made to disarm them, the question
of how much support they enjoy within the military establishment becomes critical. The
inflow of US military aid and the lifting of sanctions has persuaded Musharraf's opponents
within the Army to leave him in place, but for how long?
Add to that the appalling situation in Kashmir with a monthly casualty rate higher than
Palestine, where Indian soldiers and Pakistani-infiltrated jihadis confront each other over
the corpses of Kashmiri innocents. If Delhi were to use the "war against terrorism" as a
precedent and decide to bomb the terrorist bases in Pakistan, the sub-continent could
implode.

U. S. Jewish leaders pleased as Bush backs Israel strongly

Washington, Dec.11 (J T A) -- Heartened by a week of staunchly pro-Israel comments from
the White House, U.S. Jewish leaders had little to quibble about after a Chanukah meeting
with President Bush.
Jewish leaders from a wide spectrum of organizations who spent about an hour with Bush
on Monday walked away impressed with the depth of his knowledge and his resolve to
combat terrorism and support Israel. "I think he was as good as any president can be with
regard to support of Israel and the Jewish community,"said Jack Rosen, the president of
the American Jewish Congress." It doesn't get better than that ."
Others among the 29 Jewish leaders, who represented 19 different organizations,
described the meeting as "spectacular" and an "impressive performance" by Bush.
"I have never heard any American president, from Reagan to Clinton, ally himself so
closely with the Israeli position,"said Rabbi Marvin Hier, dean of the Simon Wiesenthal
Center in Los Angeles.
Bush made clear that organizations that target Israel will be dealt within later phases of the
U. S.-ledwar on terrorism, specifically naming Hamas, Hezbollah and Islamic Jihad.
Bush also spoke of his early December meeting with Israeli Prime Minister Ariel Sharon and
said he thinks Palestinian Authority President Yasser Arafat needs to do more to curb
violence.
He added that America should press Europe to support Israel so the Palestinians cannot
appeal for European support as a means of avoiding U.S. pressure. [...]
The relationship between the Bush administration and the American Jewish community had
been on shaky ground immediately after the Sept.11 terror attacks in New York and
Washington.
While many expected the United States to have empathy for Israel's plight, Jewish leaders
believed the administration was unfairly pressuring Israel to win Arab support for the
coalition against terror. The Bush administration was called hypocritical for criticizing Israel's
policy of targeted killing of terrorist leaders, while the United States pursued a similar
strategy in Afghanistan.
The recent suicide attacks have again changed the landscape and placed the White House
and the Jewish community on the same page.
"We've come full circle,"said Abraham Foxman, national director of the Anti-Defamation
League." What we believed would beat Sept.12 has finally come about." [...]
The president said more action needs to be taken to educate Arab and Muslim children
about freedom and democracy, a reference to school textbooks and media in the Middle
East that frequently bash Israel and foment anti-Semitism.
National Security Adviser Condoleezza Rice also attended Monday's meeting, which was
part of a day long celebration of Chanukah. The day included the first-ever lighting of a
menorah in the White House residence, as well as a party that included renditions of
Chanukah favorites by the U.S. Marine Corps band and choir.
A former White House liaison to the Jewish community said such meetings with the
president almost always a remarked by good feelings.
"Almost invariably, the Jewish community became putty when they actually saw the
president,"said Marshall Breger, who served in the Reagan administration and is now a law
professor at Catholic University in Washington.
But veteran Jewish leaders say there was something different about Monday's meeting.
"I don't think anyone walked out disagreeing" with Bush, said Malcolm Hoenlein, executive
vice-chairman of the Conference of Presidents of Major American Jewish Organization."
This is a guy who is intent on translating intentions into results."

Washington -- Some 60 Israelis, who federal investigators have said are part of a longrunning effort to spy on American government officials, are among the hundreds of
foreigners detained since the Sept. 11 terror attacks, Fox News has learned. The Israelis, a
handful of whom are described as active Israeli military or intelligence operatives, have
been detained on immigration charges or under the new Patriot Anti-Terrorism law. Federal
investigators said some of them failed polygraph questions inquiring about alleged
surveillance activities against and in the United States.
There is no indication the Israelis were involved in the Sept. 11 attacks, but investigators
suspect that they may have gathered intelligence about the attacks in advance and not
shared it. A highly placed investigator told Fox News there are "tie-ins," but when asked for
details flatly refused to describe them. "Evidence linking these Israelis to 9-11 is classified, I
cannot tell you about evidence that has been gathered. It is classified information," the
source said.
An Israeli Embassy spokesman offered categorical denials, and said any suggestion of
Israelis spying on or in the United States is simply not true. But Fox News has learned that
one group of Israelis spotted in North Carolina recently is suspected of keeping an
apartment in California to spy on a group of Arabs who the U. S. authorities are
investigating for links to terrorism. Numerous classified documents obtained by Fox News
indicate that even prior to Sept. 11, as many as 140 other Israelis had been detained or
arrested in a secretive and sprawling investigation into suspected espionage by
Israelis in the United States.
Investigators from numerous government agencies are part of a working group that has
been compiling evidence in the case since the mid-1990s. These documents detail
hundreds of incidents in cities and towns across the country that investigators say quote
"may well be an organized intelligence-gathering activity." Investigators are focusing part of
their efforts on Israelis who said they are art students from the University of Jerusalem
or Bezalel Academy and repeatedly made contact with U. S. government personnel by
saying they wanted to sell cheap art or handiwork. Documents say they "targeted" and
penetrated military bases, the Drug Enforcement Administration, the Federal Bureau of
Investigations, dozens of government facilities and even secret offices and unlisted private
homes of law enforcement and intelligence personnel.

Another part of the investigation has resulted in the detention and arrest of dozens of
Israelis working at kiosks in American malls, where they had been selling toys called
"Puzzlecar" and "Zoomcopter." Investigators suspected a front. Shortly after the New York
Times and Washington Post reported the detentions of Israelis on immigration charges last
month, the carts began vanishing. Why would Israelis spy in and on the United States?
A General Accounting Office investigation referred to Israel as Country A and said,
"According to a U. S. intelligence agency, the government of country A conducts the most
aggressive espionage operation against the U. S. of any U. S. ally."
A Defense Intelligence report said Israel has a "voracious appetite
for information." "The Israelis are motivated by strong survival instincts which dictate every
facet of their political and economic policies," the D I A report said." It aggressively collects
military and industrial technology and the U. S. is a high priority target.
"Israel possesses the resources and technical capability to achieve
its collection objectives" the document concludes.

that generates the computerized records and billing data for nearly every phone call made
in America. As Carl Cameron reported, U. S. investigators digging into the 9/11 terrorist
attacks fear that suspects may have been tipped off to what they were doing by information
leaking out of Amdocs.
In tonight's report, we learn that the concern about phone security extends to another
company, founded in Israel , that provides the technology that the U. S. government uses
for electronic eavesdropping. Here is Carl Cameron's third report.

CARL CAMERON, FOX NEWS CORRESPONDENT(voice-over): The company is Comverse
Infosys, a subsidiary of an Israel i-run private telecommunications firm, with offices
throughout the U. S. It provides wiretapping equipment for law enforcement. Here's how
wiretapping works in the U. S.
Every time you make a call, it pas ses through the nation's elaborate network of switchers
and routers run by the phone companies. Custom computers and software, made by
companies like Comverse, are tied into that network to intercept, record and store the
wiretapped calls, and at the same time transmit them to investigators.
The manufacturers have continuing access to the computers so they can service them and
keep them free of glitches. This process was authorized by the 1994 Communications
Assistance for law Enforcement Act, or CALEA. Senior government officials have now told
Fox News that while CALEA made wiretapping easier, it has led to a system that is seriously
vulnerable to compromise, and may have undermined the whole wiretapping system.
Indeed, Fox News has learned that Attorney General John Ashcroft and F B I Director
Robert Mueller were both warned Oct. 18 in a hand-delivered Letter from 15 local, state
and federal law enforcement officials, who complained that " law enforcement's current
electronic surveillance capabilities are less effective today than they were at the time
CALEA was enacted."
Congress insists the equipment it installs is secure. But the complaint about this system is
that the wiretap computer programs made by Comverse have, in effect, a back door
through which wiretaps themselves can be intercepted by unauthorized parties.
Adding to the suspicions is the fact that in Israel, Comverse works closely with the Israel i
government, and under special programs, gets reimbursed for up to 50 percent of its
research and development costs by the Israeli Ministry of Industry and Trade. But
investigators within the D E A, I N S and F B I have all told Fox News that to pursue or even
suggest Israel is spying through Comverse is considered career suicide.
And sources say that while various F. B. I. inquiries into Comverse have been conducted
over the years, they've been halted before the actual equipment has ever been thoroughly
tested for leaks. A 1999 F. C. C. document indicates several government agencies
expressed deep concerns that too many unauthorized non-law enforcement personnel can
access the wiretap system. And the F B I's own nondescript office in Chantilly, Virginia that

actually oversees the CALEA wiretapping program, is among the most agitated about the
threat.
But there is a bitter turf war internally at F. B. I. It is the F B I's office in Quantico, Virginia,
that has jurisdiction over awarding contracts and buying intercept equipment. And for years,
they've thrown much of the business to Comverse. A handful of former U. S. law
enforcement officials involved in awarding Comverse government contracts over the years
now work for the company.
Numerous sources say some of those individuals were asked to leave government service
under what knowledgeable sources call "troublesome circumstances" that remain under
administrative review within the Justice Department.

And what troubles investigators most, particularly in New York, in the counter terrorism
investigation of the World Trade Center attack, is that on a number of cases, suspects that
they had sought to wiretap and survey immediately changed their telecommunications
processes. They started acting much differently as soon as those supposedly secret
wiretaps went into place -Brit. HUME: Carl, is there any reason to suspect in this instance that the Israeli government
is involved?
CAMERON: No, there's not. But there are growing instincts in an awful lot of law
enforcement officials in a variety of agencies who suspect that it had begun compiling
evidence, and a highly classified investigation into that possibility -Brit.HUME: All right, Carl. Thanks very much.

Bobby Fischer, the reclusive American chess grandmaster, has broken years of silence to
support the terrorist attacks on the World Trade Centre and the Pentagon.
The Telegraph has discovered that Mr Fischer gave an interview to an obscure radio station
in the Philippines hours after the events on September 11. Mr Fischer is already wanted for
questioning by the F B I for breaking U N sanctions by taking part in a chess match in
Serbia against Boris Spassky in 1992 -- his first for 20 years. In his interview on September
11 with Radio Bombo in Baguio City, Mr Fischer said: "This is all wonderful news. It is time to
finish off the U S once and for all. I was happy and could not believe what was happening.
All the crimes the U S has committed in the world. This just shows, what goes around comes
around, even to the U S. I applaud the act. The U S and Israel have been slaughtering the
Palestinians for years. Now it is coming back at the U S."
Mr Fischer, 58, also attacked Israel and "Jews" who he claimed were responsible for
"bringing" the attack on the World Trade Centre. He gave the interview because he is a
friend of Pablo Mercado, the station manager. [...]

Western secret services knew as far back as 1995 that suspected terror mastermind Osama
bin Laden pla nned to attack civilian sites using commercial passenger planes, German
newspaper Die Welt said Friday.
Quoting sources close to western intelligence services, Die Welt said that authorities did not
take seriously the threat of the plan, known as Project Bojinka. The plan was discovered in
January 1995 by Philippine police who were investigating a possible attack against Pope
John Paul II on a visit to Manila. They found details of the plan in a computer seized in an
apartment used by three men who were part of Bin Laden's al-Qaeda network. It provided
for 11 planes to be exploded simultaneously by bombs placed on board, but targets.

Among targets mentioned was the World Trade Center in New York, which was destroyed in
the September 11 terror attacks in the United States that killed thousands.
Other targets mentioned were C I A offices in Virginia and the Sears Tower in Chicago, Die
Welt said. The plot re-surfaced during the trial in New York in 1997 of Pakistani Ramsi
Youssef, the mastermind of the attack on the World Trade Center in 1993. Die Welt said the
U S Federal Bureau of Investigation and C I A would have known about the plan at the
latest at this time.

Coordination pour la décolonisation de toute la Palestine
Nous avons créé la coordination pour la décolonisation de toute la Palestine pour trois
raisons:
1) pour soutenir l'ensemble de la résistance palestinienne.
2) pour rappeler ce qu'on a tendance à oublier, à savoir que c'est toute la Palestine
historique qui a été colonisée par les sionistes et qui doit être décolonisée.
3) pour pallier la défection des organisations de gauche françaises qui refusaient
d'organiser des manifestations de soutien à l'Intifada Al Aqsa par peur de passer pour
des partisans du terrorisme et de l'islamisme.
Nous nous sommes aperçus, lors de la manifestation du 31 mars 2001, que nous pouvions
mobiliser sans la gauche officielle et avec peu de moyens.
Cette manifestation nous a donné l'idée de nous organiser en coordination autour d'une
charte pour la décolonisation de toute la Palestine qui déclare ce qui suit:
"La Coordination est ouverte à toutes les organisations, groupes ou personnes qui
acceptent de se mobiliser en faveur de son objectif: celui des combattants
palestiniens du Jourdain à la Méditerranée, unis dans leur volonté irréductible de
libérer toute la Palestine et de rétablir leur patrie dans ses frontières historiques
d'avant 1948.
La vocation anticolonialiste de la coordination lui fait obligation de soutenir et d'aider,
autant que faire se peut, la lutte héroïque du peuple palestinien contre les sionistes.
Son action se limite au soutien à la guerre de libération nationale palestinienne et elle
s'interdit toute forme d'ingérence, directe ou indirecte, dans les affaires intérieures de la
résistance du peuple palestinien, tant à l'étape actuelle de la lutte armée, qu'après la
défaite de l'entité sioniste.
La coordination proclame son attachement aux principes universels du droit des
peuples à la liberté, à l'indépendance et à la souveraineté dans leur patrie
historique."
Historique
Nous avons organisé une manifestation de soutien à la Résistance palestinienne le 12
mai 2001 de Barbès à la République
Cette manifestation, critiquée par tous ceux qui n'en voulaient pas, nous a permis de
rassembler 4000 personnes. Elle a marqué par son ampleur et ses animations beaucoup
de ceux qui, trop timorés hésitaient à rejoindre le cortège. La préfecture nous a félicité pour
la bonne tenue de cette initiative.
La Coordination a aussi amené son soutien à Mohamed Beddy Ould Ebnou, de "l'Alliance
mauritanienne des forces du refus" suite à son agression à son domicile parisien le 14 mai
2001. M. Beddy Ould Ebnou co-fondateur de la "Coordination pour la décolonisation de
toute la Palestine" et opposant mauritanien reconnu, a certainement été agressé pour ses
positions antisionistes.
Le député-maire communiste, M. Brard ayant interdit la tenue d'une semaine de projections
de films "Palestine regards sur l'occupation" programmée du 30 mai au 5 juin, la
coordination a participé à la manifestation contre la censure sioniste à Montreuil le 30
mai 2001.
Lors de la visite du président Bachar El Assad en France, la CDTP a soutenu la légitime
revendication du peuple et du gouvernement syriens sur le Golan occupé et salué le
soutien apporté à la résistance palestinienne dans toutes ses composantes. Ce message a
été porté en délégation le 26 juin à l'ambassade syrienne.

Le rassemblement du 4 juillet 2001, place de la République, contre la venue du criminel
de guerre Sharon a réuni environ 400 personnes en soutien aux 14 organisations unies
dans le Front des forces patriotiques et islamiques.
Cette visite déjà programmée pour le 5 juin, annulée pour cause d'Intifada, reprogrammée
début juillet a donné lieu à deux manifestations. L'une, celle de "la Coordination pour la
décolonisation de toute la Palestine" amenant sa solidarité à l'ensemble de la résistance
palestinienne. Celle du 5 juillet, appelée par la LCR et d'autres organisations de gauche,
amenant uniquement leur soutien à l'Autorité palestinienne a rassemblé environ 1500
personnes. Certaines associations de la coordination ont d'ailleurs participé aux deux
manifestations.
A l'appel du Parti des Musulmans de France, la coordination représentée par trois
personnes a participé au jugement symbolique de Sharon, pour le massacre de Sabra et
Chatila, le 6 juillet 2001 place Kléber à Strasbourg. Zouhair Azali, représentant la GUPS
(Union générale des étudiants palestiniens) était aussi présent.
La coordination a soutenu, avec d'autres comités, l'Appel pour la liberté d'expression
dénonçant les pressions et les menaces d'attentats contre Radio Méditerranée, le 22 juillet
2001 devant le siège de la radio, rassemblant près de 300 personnes.
La Coordination a organisé, le 31 août, devant le cimetière du Père-Lachaise, lieu
symbolique des combattants de la Commune, un rassemblement en hommage à Abou Ali
Mustapha, le secrétaire général du FPLP, assassiné par un missile sioniste dans son
bureau.
A l'occasion du premier anniversaire de l'Intifada Al-Aqsa, la coordination pour la
décolonisation de toute la Palestine a organisé une réunion-débat de soutien à la
résistance palestinienne au Centre Anatolien rassemblant une soixantaine de personnes.
La coordination a également dénoncé la guerre contre l'Afghanistan en critiquant
l'impérialisme U S.
La Coordination a tenu un stand Palestine lors du salon du livre irakien les 13 et 14
octobre. Nous avons lié à cette occasion, la lutte du peuple irakien pour sa souveraineté et
son autonomie avec celle du peuple palestinien.
Et enfin, nous avons organisé le 8 décembre une réunion publique avec projection de films
sur l'Intifada à l'Auberge de la Jeunesse.

1er décembre 2001 -- Anthony Zini a adressé une requête à Ariel Sharon: S'il vous plaît,
arrêtez d'étendre les colonies. Au moins pour un certain temps. Est-ce que ça vous
dérange?
Zinni est un général américain venant des Marines dont la façon de penser est stricte et
logique. Il est difficile pour lui de comprendre pour quoi Sharon n'accède pas à cette
demande. A quoi cela rime-t-il? Quelques maisons ici et là. Cela vaut-il la peine de tuer tant
d'êtres humains, tant d'enfants, Israéliens et Palestiniens, juste pour cela? Quelle est cette
folie?
D'autant plus que la vie des colons eux-mêmes s'est transformée en enfer. Ils ne peuvent
plus se déplacer sans risquer leur vie. Les colonies s ont devenues leur prison. Le monde
est bouleversé quand un kamikaze se fait sauter à Tel- Aviv, mais il ne l'est pas quand les
colons se f ont tirer dessus. Ils s ont considérés comme partie intégrante de l'occupation et
par conséquent comme des cibles légitimes pour la résistance du peuple occupé.
De très nombreux colons - peut-être la majorité - seraient sans aucun doute plus que
désireux de retourner en Israël maintenant. Ceux qui cherchaient une " qualité de vie "
dans un paysage pittoresque, et se sont rendu compte que le paysage pittoresque
engendre principalement des kamikazes désespérés, rêvent maintenant d'une maison
tranquille à Ra'anana, la banlieue riche près de Tel- Aviv. Mais à qui vendre une villa avec
des tuiles rouges et un beau jardin qui peut à tout moment être atteinte par un obus de
mortier? Seul le gouvernement peut acheter, et le gouvernement ne le veut pas.

C'est plus facile pour les entreprises industrielles. Leurs propriétaires ont été incités par les
gouvernement successifs (y compris ceux de Rabin, Pérès et particulièrement Barak) à
vendre leurs installations coûteuses dans les villes et à acquérir à la place, pour presque
rien, des terrains dans les zones industriel les des colonies où ils pour raient exploiter le
travail palestinien à bon marché. Pas de salaire minimum, pas de charges sociales. Les
propriétaires ont aussi bénéficié de toutes sortes de subventions, d'exemptions fiscales,
etc. Maintenant ils s'esquivent, tranquillement, l'un après l'autre. Fournisseurs, conducteurs,
techniciens ne viennent plus dans ces endroits. Contrairement aux combattants du Hamas,
ils ne sont pas candidats au suicide.
Tout ceci est bien connu des conseillers du général Zinni. Ils ont de bons yeux qui
regardent des cieux. Par conséquent, ils ne comprennent pas, avec leur simple bon sens
américain, pour quoi Sharon est si obstiné.
Ils comprennent, évidemment, qu'il y a des pressions politiques. Les Américains
comprennent les pressions politiques, après tout. Eux aussi en subissent. Sharon doit tenir
compte de ses partenaires d'extrême droite et aussi du lobby des colons fanatiques. Mais
ceci n'explique pas l'intransigeance de son opposition. Alors qu'en est-il au fond?
Il vaudrait la peine pour le général Zinni (comme pour ses prédécesseurs et ses
successeurs) d'étudier un peu d'histoire sioniste. Ils découvriraient que les colonies font
partie du code génétique du mouvement depuis le jour où il est né, il y a 104 ans. En fait,
depuis le commencement, quand l'ovule juif a été fécondé par le sperme nationaliste
européen.
Ce code génétique demande au mouvement de s'installer dans tout le pays pour en faire
une patrie sioniste. Il a commencé lentement, "mètre carré après mètre carré". Le rythme
s'est accéléré au cours des années 30. Pendant la guerre de 1948, dans laquelle les
colonies ont joué un rôle important, Israël a con qui s 78% du pays. Après cela, quelque
500 villages arabes ont été rasés et des colonies ont été construites à leur place. Aussitôt
ce travail terminé, la guerre de 1967 a été déclenchée; Israël a conquis le reste de la
Palestine et a commencé tout de suite à y implanter des colonies. Quel que fût le pouvoir -les Travaillistes ou le Likoud, Begin ou Peres, Netanyahou ou Barak -- l'activité de
colonisation a continué sans répit.
Les Goys peuvent dire ce qu'ils veulent -- que les colonies sont immorales, un obstacle à la
paix, illégales, et en fin de compte qu'elles sont un crime de guerre. Mais l'action continue.
Dans l'année au cours de laquelle Barak a négocié la "fin du conflit", l'activité de
construction de colonies a atteint un niveau inégalé jusqu'alors.
Sharon est fils de colon, il a été élevé dans une colonie, les colonies sont l'essence même
de sa vie. Tout au long de sa carrière en dents de scie, quel que soit son emploi à un
moment donné, il a consacré son énergie d'abord et avant tout à la construction de
colonies. Mais même s'il avait été le fils de nouveaux immigrants du Maroc, il aurait fait la
même chose. Parce que le mouvement de colonisation n'est pas une affaire personnelle, il
est dicté par le code génétique collectif.
S'il n'y avait eu aucune résistance, le mouvement de colonisation aurait continué jusqu'à ce
que toute la Cisjordanie et la Bande de Gaza soient couvertes de colonies jusqu'au dernier
mètre carré. A partir de là, il se serait propagé à l'est du Grand Israël, " Eastern Eretz Israël
" (comme la Jordanie est appelée dans les cours de géographie), et même à tous les
autres pays voisins qui sont inclus dans la promesse généreuse faite par Dieu dans la
Bible. L'armée aurait conquis, les colons se seraient installés.
Cela n'arrivera pas, car l'action provoque la réaction. Le mouvement irrépressible rencontre
un objet inamovible: le peuple palestinien. La guerre entre les deux peuples a atteint
maintenant un niveau inégalé au cours des cent quatre dernières années (sauf, peut-être,
en 1948). La poursuite de l'activité de colonisation peut provoquer un désastre pour
l'entreprise dans son ensemble.
La littérature classique connaît le personnage du joueur invétéré. Il a un jour de chance, il
gagne et gagne, un immense tas de jetons s'accumule devant lui. Il pourrait s'arrêter à tout
moment, changer ses jetons contre de l'argent et vivre heureux avec.
Il pourrait, mais il ne le peut pas. La passion ne le quitte pas. Il continue à jouer, perd et
perd, jusqu'à ce que son dernier jeton soit ramassé par le croupier.
Dans les histoires classiques, le joueur se lève, blanc comme un linge, titube vers la porte,
met un revolver sur sa tempe et se tue.
La question est de savoir si nous sommes condamnés à agir comme lui ou à nous dire: ça
suffit! Nous changeons notre code génétique. Il est temps de changer le code en
implantant un nouveau gêne de vie saine, débarrassé de tout vice ancien. Rendons les
colonies au-delà de la Ligne verte aux réfugiés palestiniens et ramenons les colons sains et
saufs en Israël.

Zionism and Nazism: A Discussion on the T V Channel
Al- Jazeera
Dr. Faysal Al- Qasem's weekly talk show of May 15,2001, on the Qatar T V channel AlJazeera, discussed the question, "Is Zionism worse than Nazism?" (1) Against the
background of this program were on the one hand, the anti-Semitic remarks made by Syrian
President Bashar Al- Assad, and on the other, the manifest signed by 14 Arab intellectuals,
denouncing the planned international conference of Holocaust deniers in Beirut.
The program hosted Dr. Hayat Al- Hwayek ' Atiya, "researcher of Zionism" and follower of
Holocaust denier Roger Garaudy and translator of his book into Arabic. Liberal Tunisian
intellectual 'Afif Al- Akhdhar represented the opposition to Holocaust denial in the Arab
world.
At the opening of the program, Al- Qasem, posed the following question to Dr. 'Atiya: "Is
there a difference between Zionism and Nazism?" 'Atiya responded that the question
should be looked at from two perspectives, the logical and the textual. Logically, she
claimed, "the question must be asked: «what is it exactly that we denounce in Nazism?»"
According to her, there are two elements in Nazism that should be denounced: "The first is
the racism, that is, the belief in the superiority of the Aryan race over the rest of the races,
and the second is the military expansion at the expense of others, stemming from this
belief.
After establishing these two points, Dr. 'Atiya stated that these two principles "precisely
existed in the Zionist mentality and ideology... ever since the days of the Jewish Torah...
the belief in being the «Chosen People» is one of the foundations of the Zionist project. As
for the expansion, there is nothing left to say, because we are living through it."
As for the textual perspective, 'Atiya cited "some of the words of both Jewish and Nazi
intellectuals. Nahum Goldman says that there is a common trait to both German Nazis and
Jews, and that is the selectivity and the belief in a common destiny as a divine mission.
Writer Michel Rashlan compares sections of Mein Kampf to the Jewish Torah, and comes to
the conclusion that ... the ideological roots of the Nazis can be found in the Book of
Joshua... In 1935 a French newspaper published an interview with the Nazi theoretician,
Alfred Rosenberg, in which he said he supports Zionism and is enchanted by it, because of
its similarity to Nazism..."
'Afif Al- Akhdhar was asked to respond to the comparison between Nazism and Zionism, but
he began by addressing the manifest by 14 Arab intellectuals, denouncing the planned
conference of Holocaust deniers in Beirut. The conference was subsequently cancelled by
the Lebanese government following protests from Arab intellectuals and Jewish groups:
"The only reason for which I did not sign the manifest was that I was not asked to.
Furthermore, if they had not been in a rush, hundreds of Arab intellectuals would have
signed it," explained 'Afif Al- Akhdhar.
The main reasons given by Al- Akhdhar regarding his stance against the conference of
historical revisionists in Beirut are as follows: He explained that from a political point of view,
following the collapse of the Soviet Bloc, no policy can succeed if it is not favorable to
international diplomacy and public opinion. "If we adopt the Nazis' garbage," he explained,
"we will lose on our issue, namely the liberation of the Arab Lands occupied in 1967...
Politically, if we support revisionism and Holocaust deniers... we will lose international
diplomacy."
Al- Akhdhar began by emphasizing that he does not denounce revisionist historians only for
political reasons, but also on moral grounds. Before he could finish his explanation 'Atiya
interrupted him and would not allow him to continue. "Madame," Al- Akhdhar said to her,
"do not be a Nazi and do not be fascist."
Once Dr. 'Atiya was given the stage, she complained: "He did not answer the question. He
avoided the subject. I was talking about the 1930s, when there was no revisionism and no
Holocaust. I was talking about the cooperation between Zionism and Nazism... he evaded

history in order to attack the Beirut conference... He should not be telling us about
appeasing diplomacy and the media. [The Arab intellectuals] living in the West only want to
appease. Those of us who live here are not interested in appeasing anyone; we are
interested in the truth... The Jews supported the Nuremberg laws because they made the
Transfer easier..."
Dr. 'Atiya's comments angered Al- Akhdhar, who accused her of "talking like the Taliban,
saying that 'the media doesn't interest her.'" According to him, "whoever wants to recover
the land and establish a homeland for the Palestinians must take the international media
into consideration." "There is no doubt that there is a commonality between Nazism and
Zionism," Al- Akhdhar said, but he quickly added, "this commonality exists between Nazism
and all nationalist movements," which are based on one principle, namely the centrality of
ethnic and racial elements. That is why they use expressions like "the Chosen People" or
the phrase: " We are the greatest nation delivered to mankind." "The nations that have
given up national narcissism and the centrality of ethnicity," he added, "are the nations that
have risen to a higher level of civilization."
On the defensive, 'Atiya claimed she is involved in the media, even in the French language,
and denied having said the media was unimportant. She added that she is a Maronite
Christian and therefore "I cannot be compared to the Taliban."
Al- Qasem raised the possibility of renewing the U N resolution equating Zionism to racism,
and Al- Akhdhar claimed this proposal "is un-political": "While there is a consensus that
Israel is not a Nazi state, you get up and yell that Israel is a Nazi state. Then you get into
trouble, just like one of the leaders did recently [meaning Bashar Assad]. Then you
approach international diplomacy and waste weeks and months trying to explain and clarify
and claim that your comments were taken out of context, etc. The main thing for us is the
struggle against the occupation and the settlements. What is the point, then, to constantly
say: Israel is Nazi, Israel is worse than Nazism, Israel is worse than fascism, etc. We cannot
fight against international diplomacy, because then we will lose our cause... We must learn
from Israel and be realistic." [This poor demented opportunist is unable to pinpoint what
the Arab side gained in the diplomatic game ? ]
On the other hand, 'Atiya claimed that dealing with the Holocaust serves the general
interests of the Arabs and Palestinians. "The media is psychology," she explained, "the
comparison of Zionism to Nazism in the media is a blow to Western psychology, because
the Western conscience is particularly sensitive to the Nazis."
The discussion was then opened to audience participation. On the line was Ibrahim
Alloush of Jordan, editor of the anti-Semitic web-site [a bloody lie which shows the bias
of ther accounty ] The Free Arab Voice and board member of the League Against Zionism
and Racism. He claimed that "The Holocaust myth has three aspects. First, there is the lie
about the policy of extermination of the Jews; second, the lie about the killing of six million
Jews in the Second World War; and third, the lie about the gas chambers. The most
important aspect about the Holocaust myth are the tales about the gas chambers, because
they are where [the locations] the Jews were supposedly exterminated. If we prove that the
gas chambers did not exist, as the [revisionist] historians have done, the entire Holocaust
myth will collapse."
Alloush agreed with 'Atiya's assertion that Holocaust denial serves Arab interests, "because
it is not merely a historical question, but an issue of contemporary politics and media. The
importance of the Holocaust myths for the Palestinians, Arabs and Muslims, is that they
justify the need for the existence of an occupying Zionist state, because the Jews need a
state of their own for safe refuge. Secondly, it also justifies the Zionist movement's violation
of U N resolutions, claiming what happened to the Jews in the so-called Holocaust gives
them a excuse for not following international law..."
Alloush also addressed the intellectuals who signed the manifest against the Beirut
conference and stated they "betrayed their role as intellectuals because they asked an
Arab government to prevent intellectual activity. They also betrayed their political role as
Arab intellectuals, because instead of fighting Zionism, they joined it and adopted its
rhetoric... Accepting the Holocaust is the heart of cultural normalization with the Zionist
enemy..."
Al- Akhdhar said that although Dr. 'Atiya's activities could be described as a media
campaign, "it is a media campaign aimed at Arab public opinion, which is already in her
pocket." He, on the other hand, is trying to win over the world's public opinion. Al- Akhdhar
explained, "she has no chance of writing in any international newspaper, besides the
revisionist newspapers which are distributed secretly. She cannot say it on C N N or on any
Western T V station. Instead of dealing with the Nazi's garbage and the lies of the
revisionists and the deniers, we should be translating the works of the Israeli new-historians.

They have truly exploded the Zionist founding myths, according to which Palestine was a
land without a people... They have proved that the Palestinian people was exiled and that
Arab villages were turned into Jewish villages."
Enraged, 'Atiya responded, " It is a shame that an intellectual should stand on the side of
the strong and not on the side of the truth... President Bashar Assad said that Zionism is
equal to Nazism. This is a courageous position that must be commended rather than be
denounced in order to appease the West... Why does he (Al- Akhdhar) call for translating
the writings of the Israeli new-historians? Because they are Jews? At the same time,
however, he denounces the French, the American and the English historians."
At this point, the show's production team brought French Holocaust denier Robert
Faurisson on the line. Faurisson said, "Historical revisionism is the most dangerous thing
for Zionism. Historical revisionism that proves the hard and bitter facts about Zionism -- this
is the nuclear weapon of the poor. We have proved and are still proving that there was no
massacre or Holocaust of the Jews, and that there were no gas chambers for the Jews and
that the figure of six million victims is exaggerated... if you want to protect Palestine, you
cannot do so with guns and shells, but by saying the truth about the biggest lie of the
Twentieth and Twenty- First Centuries, the lie of the Holocaust."
Al- Akhdhar's response to Faurisson was that it is his right and the right of all American and
European researchers to research what they want and to say whatever they feel. However,
it is not constructive for the Arabs to use the following statements: "When 96% of the
German people denounce Nazism, it is strange that we [Arabs] should come and say to the
German people: You are wrong. Nazism was not a disaster, the Jews simply invented a
massacre that never happened, and invented gas chambers that exist only in their
imagination. This is a kind of stupidity and insanity. I am not opposed to Garaudy or
Faurisson writing, I am against us adopting this rhetoric..."
At this point, Dr. 'Atiya lost her cool again and yelled at Al- Akhdhar: " I do not allow you to
speak in the name of the Arab intellectuals... Three days ago we held a conference at the
Jordanian Writers' Association. 150 intellectuals attended, none of whom were willing to
sign. What you say is shameful." The show's host, Al- Qasem, joined 'Atiya and said AlAkhdhar's statements "are full of contradictions. At first he calls the revisionists garbage,
and now he said that Faurisson has the freedom to write what he wants but that it would be
a mistake for us to use it.
At this point, the host cited statements of Rabbi Ovadia Yosef against Arabs and his call for
exterminating them. Al- Akhdhar explained that "Rabbi Ovadia Yosef is a criminal and
insane person, and his is a case for mental doctors. He was even denounced in Israel. He
is like the Taliban." [Al Akhdar is wrong again: Yosef is highly respected in Israel and
considered almost as a saint... ]
The host, Al-Qasem, lost his cool and defied his guest: "Mr. 'Afif Al- Akhdhar, why is it that
every time the Zionists expose their true character, you act just like the Western media, and
begin to call them insane? When Goldstein killed the people at prayer, they said he was

'Atiya joined in with Dr. Al-Qasem and explained that Rabbi Ovadia Yosef " is a religious
man, and the Book of Joshua goes even further. This man expresses his religion."
Al- Qasem decided at this point to cite [a caller] Abd Al- Hamid Thakr's opinion from AlJazeera's web site: "Sons of Zion, whom our God described as the descendants of apes
and pigs, will not be deterred unless there is a true Holocaust that will exterminate all of
them at once, along with the traitors, the collaborators, the scum of the [Islamic] nation..."
At this point, Dr. 'Atiya took out a large picture of the baby, Iman Hiju, who was recently
killed in the territories from Israeli fire. On the picture, written in red, "The murderers of the
prophets are the murders of the innocent". She cried out: "This is the Holocaust, this is the
Holocaust. There is no Jewish Holocaust, there is only a Palestinian Holocaust." In addition,
'Atiya claimed that 'Afif Al- Akhdhar "is weaving conspiracies against the Palestinian
Holocaust by repeating what the Western media says.
The two exchanged insults, Al- Akhdhar calling 'Atiya a liar, and she referring to him as a
"Nazi" and a "fascist". Al-Akhdhar then summed up his view of 'Atiya's position: "Faurisson
and Garaudy can write what they want, and they will always write garbage. Garaudy for
example, is garbage. As a person he is garbage."
Concluding the show, the host, Dr. Faisal Al- Qasem, read the results of the internet poll
held on the Al-Jazeera web site comparing Zionism and Nazism. 12,374 people participated
in the poll and the results are as follows: "84.6% of Arabs said that Zionism is worse than
Nazism; 11.1% said that Zionism is equal to Nazism; 2.7% said that Nazism is worse than

Zionism. All that is left for me to do is to congratulate the Zionists for this painful result;
indeed, they have excelled in exceeding the Nazis."

Les coteaux escarpés du Wadi Kziv, dans l'ouest de la Galilée, sont recouverts par une
végétation luxuriante; les lauriers-roses et les cyprès s'y mirent dans de petites vasques
alimentées par des sources. J'aime ce canyon coupé de tout. Durant les chaudes journées
d'été, on peut s'y cacher dans des grottes profondes et compliquées et s'étendre dans des
eaux limpides et fraîches, guettant le daim qui viendra s'y abreuver ou rêvant à quelque
nymphe. Je profite de journées plus fraîches pour escalader la pente et monter jusqu'au
château de Montfort, remontant aux Croisades, qui s'élève sur un mont au milieu du défilé.
Une fois arrivé, je m'assieds au sommet du donjon et je m'abandonne à la contemplation
de la Méditerranée, que l'on devine dans le lointain. Ce lieu garde de multiples mémoires.
Les Chevaliers teutoniques, ces sionistes (avant l'heure) du douzième siècle, avaient
acheté ce fort et y avaient fondé un de leurs Etats provisoires. Ils furent défaits par Saladin,
ce parangon de bravoure et de compassion, qui leur laissa la liberté. Ils purent repartir avec
armes, bagages et honneur, et s'en retourner chez eux, en Europe de l'est. N'est-ce pas
sur ce sentier escarpé, menant à une source, que s'étaient rencontrés, puis séparés, les
personnages adorables d'Arabesques, un roman exquis de l'écrivain palestinien Antoine
Shammas, originaire du village voisin de Fassuta, sans doute le seul non-juif au monde à
écrire ses livres et ses poèmes en hébreu moderne? Plus à l'ouest, le ruisseau de Kziv
rejoint la mer, après avoir traversé les ruines d'Ahziv, un village chrétien détruit, par des
juifs, en 1948. Dans ce village, il y a maintenant bien longtemps -- c'était dans les années
vingt -- une jeune fille palestinienne reçut la visite d'une autre femme palestinienne du coin,
la Vierge Marie. En d'autres termes: un coin typique d'un paysage unique, celui de la
Palestine. Ces jours-ci, vous pouvez explorer l'endroit sans crainte d'être dérangé : il n'y a
personne. Le village ruiné est désert, tout comme la campagne alentour. Depuis l'année
noire de 1948, la terre de Palestine est souffrante, comme elle ne l'avait jamais été
auparavant. Les gens ne s'aventurent plus jusque là-bas, vers la mer; ils abandonnent la
vallée aux sangliers efflanqués. En descendant la vallée, j'ai vu quelques-uns de ces
animaux gracieux, si différents de leurs cousins domestiqués. Ce n'est qu'une fois sorti du
défilé, et déjà sur la plaine de Saint-Jean d'Accre, que j'ai rencontré âme qui vive. Il
s'agissait de quelques paysans thaïlandais -- ou chinois, je ne sais -- en train de travailler
dans les cultures d'un kibboutz voisin. Un kibboutznik entre deux âges, assis à l'ombre, les
surveillait. Je me suis approché de lui pour lui demander un verre d'eau et une cigarette.
C'était l'incarnation du brave Israélien, baraqué, tanné par le soleil, avec un sourire
bienveillant, des moustaches broussailleuses et un langage peu châtié. Voilà cinquante
ans, il (je devrais dire, plutôt, son prédécesseur), aurait été quelque combattant des
troupes d'assaut juives, le Palmach, il aurait sans doute conquis les terres agricoles du
village d'Ahziv, expulsant ses paysans vers le Liban. Il y a une trentaine d'année, il aurait
travaillé les terres volées de ses propres mains. Aujourd'hui, il supervise les Thaïlandais qui
y triment, suant sang et eau. Bientôt, me dit-il, il se rendrait à New York, pour aller voir son
fils. Ce sont des Russes, habitants de la ville de Maalot, qui viendraient surveiller le
kibboutz durant son absence. Les juifs intéressés par l'agriculture ou même par la
surveillance des paysans thaïlandais ne courent pas les rues, m'a-t-il dit. Le kibboutz
espère obtenir un permis de construire, afin de bâtir un lotissement et de vendre les
logements. L'emplacement est bien situé : Naharia et Saint-Jean d'Accre sont toutes
proches. Les maisons se vendront bien, malgré la crise, ajouta-t-il. Lui serrant la main, je
pris congé en lui souhaitant bonne chance, à lui, aux Thaïlandais ruisselants de sueur, aux

champs verdoyants, aux montagnes du Liban, plus au nord, qui dissimulent les camps de
réfugiés peuplés par les anciens habitants d'Ahziv, à la chaîne des monts de Galilée et à
sa ville entièrement russe de Maalot, et je pris le train du retour à Jaffa. Dans le train, il y
avait quelques Africains, sans doute des immigrés clandestins à en juger à leurs regards
fuyants. Des maçons roumains, toute une équipe, s'envoyaient de la bière et rotaient
bruyamment. Ils ont été importés de leur patrie est-européenne appauvrie pour venir
construire les demeures des immigrants, les juifs ne voulant pas plus travailler dans le
bâtiment en Israël qu'en Californie. Un avocat juif israélien, revêtu de sa toge noire,
fourrageait dans son attaché-case entrouvert. Un soldat israélien, blond et armé, parlait
ukrainien, avec force 'h' fricatifs, à sa copine corpulente. Il célébrait ses propres exploits
guerriers face à une multitude de terroristes arabes, sous le regard éperdu d'admiration de
sa Dulcinée. Un groupe de Marocains parlaient de la fermeture de l'aciérie de Saint-Jean
d'Acre et de leurs très maigres chances de retrouver du boulot. La crise s'aggrave, dit l'un
d'entre eux, c'est comme en 1966, sinon pire. Le train roulait maintenant dans
l'agglomération de Haïfa, et je pensais aux centaines de milliers, peut-être même aux
millions d'Américains, de sionistes juifs et chrétiens, faisant du lobbying, priant, collectant
des fonds... Non, non... : pas pour l'Etat juif, construit sur les ruines de la Palestine. Ça
serait déjà horrible; mais la réalité est pire. Je pensais aux millions de Palestiniens, en train
de croupir dans les camps de réfugiés et dans les geôles, dépossédés, expulsés -- non par
le monstre de l'occupation odieuse et du rapt des terres, non: par quelque chose de pire,
par un fantôme. L'Etat juif est un état virtuel qui perd rapidement le lien ténu qui le relie à la
réalité. Cet Etat-fantôme tue les gens tout en collectant des fonds en Amérique; il poursuit
une sorte d'existence scélérate, comme l'illustre l'expression juridique "propriété du défunt".
Ses champs sont entretenus par des travailleurs-hôtes importés, gardés par des Russes et
des Ethiopiens, importés eux aussi, et font l'objet de conférences en amphi par des
professeurs israéliens, enseignant (à temps plein et à vie) dans les universités américaines
et de braves généraux toujours prêts pour un coup de tabac. Le chômage augmente de
jour en jour, les services publics sont en grève quasi-permanente; le tourisme s'est
effondré, les hôtels sont fermés et d'autres branches de l'économie nationale sont au bord
de la faillite. Les Israéliens achètent des appartements en Floride et à Prague, tandis que
les logements, en Israël, ne trouvent pas preneur. L'acharnement de Sharon à punir les
Palestiniens, c'est un peu celui de quelqu'un qui se donne une baffe sur sa propre main
gauche: les Palestiniens et les Israéliens sont mêlés et intégrés les uns aux autres, la
séparation -- objectif actuellement poursuivi -- tue l'économie des uns et des autres. Vu de
loin, des Etats-Unis, Israël semble un géant: puissance nucléaire, grand ami des
Américains, l'Etat juif est un motif de fierté, pour des juifs américains. Un visiteur peut quitter
nos côtes avec le sentiment, fort, que nous avons une identité marquée et que nous
sommes prospères. Mais seuls, nous, qui y résidons en permanence, savons qu'Israël n'est
qu'un décor de carton-pâte. Israël est en train de s'écrouler, ses forces vives émigrent, en
désespoir de cause, tandis que les généraux parachèvent la destruction du pays. C'est un
sort cruel qui s'abat sur les Palestiniens: Israël, l'Etat-fantôme qui les assassine, est un
corps sans âme, titubant comme un zombie, qui hante les couloirs du Congrès américain et
les déserts du Moyen-Orient. Et c'est pour ce spectre que des gros bonnets juifs américains
pressurent leurs employés et leurs concitoyens comme des citrons, afin d'en extraire
jusqu'au dernier cent, exigeant des coupes dans les pensions allouées aux personnes
âgées et dans les allocations familiales, des restrictions aux budgets de la santé et de
l'éducation, l'assèchement de l'aide internationale à l'Afrique et à l'Amérique du Sud, la
mise sur pied de coalitions improbables avec des racistes aussi notoires qu'un Pat
Robertson, la vitrification de l'Irak, bénissant le bombardement de réfugiés afghans, faisant
tout afin de maintenir les Noirs américains dans leurs ghettos, minant la société qui les a
accueillis, se créant des ennemis, à eux-mêmes et en créant, plus largement, à l'Amérique.
Ces agissements sont on ne peut plus avilissants. Certes. Mais, de plus, ils sont vains.
L'expérience sioniste est pratiquement terminée. Israël peut encore être maintenu en survie
artificielle, cas d'acharnement thérapeutique évoquant celui qu'on exerce parfois sur un
"légume humain" en état de mort cérébrale. Il peut, certes, encore tuer des tas de gens,
voire même déclencher la guerre mondiale. Mais, pour lui, désormais, tout retour à la vie est
impossible. L'Etat juif d'Israël est un état d'esprit; il n'est que la projection de la
mentalité juive américaine. Les préoccupations et les problèmes qui l'agitent sont les
problèmes des juifs américains. Pour nous, les "juifs" israéliens, il n'est nul besoin de
ségrégation, de guerre, de soumission des habitants d'origine. Nous ne mangeons pas de
baguels, nous ne parlons pas yiddish, nous ne lisons ni Saül Bellow ni Sholem Aleichem et,
pour nous, les synagogues "valent le détour". Nous préférons la cuisine arabe et la
musique grecque. Dans mon quartier, il y a sept boucheries vendant de la viande de porc

contre une boucherie cascher. Quarante pour cent des couples, à Tel Aviv, se forment
hors-cadre juif: les jeunes Israéliens préfèrent aller se marier à Chypre, ne serait-ce que
pour éviter d'avoir affaire à un rabbin. Tel Aviv est la capitale homosexuelle du MoyenOrient, en dépit du fait qu'en vertu de la loi juive, les homosexuels devraient être occis.
Dussent les Américains arrêter d'acheter les Israéliens dans les grandes largeurs, nous
oublierions très vite la diaspora et nous nous fondrions dans le Moyen-Orient, région on ne
peut plus hospitalière. S'ils s'entêtent à nous "financer" de la sorte, nous pourrions très
bien leur montrer de quel bois les juifs se chauffent. Nous sommes les rois des camelots de
l'illusion; pour peu qu'il y ait des clients, nous fournissons. En 1946, un groupe de
personnes sages et dévouées vinrent, de tous les pays du monde, en Palestine, sous
l'égide des Nations Unies. Elles avaient été envoyées en mission préparatoire à la partition
du pays. Entre autres lieux, ils vinrent visiter le kibboutz situé le plus au sud, Revivim, dans
le désert aride du Néguev, et évoluèrent parmi de magnifiques bordures de roses,
d'anémones et de violettes, avant de parvenir au bureau de la direction. Dans leur rapport
d'inspection, les membres de la délégation exprimèrent leur émerveillement et firent tomber
la sentence: "Les juifs font fleurir le désert; il faut leur donner le Néguev." A peine eurent-ils
le dos tourné que des jeunes kibboutzniks sortirent de leur cachette et entreprirent
d'extirper les fleurs du sable où elles avaient été fichées. Ils les avaient achetées le matin
même au marché de Jaffa et les avaient plantées là comme décor pour la -- courte -- durée
de la visite de la délégation. Cette simple petite mise en scène a abouti au transfert du
Néguev, avec ses deux cent mille habitants palestiniens, à l'Etat juif. Une majorité des
habitants palestiniens furent expulsé au-delà de la frontière fraîchement tracée, et allèrent
peupler les camps de réfugiés en Jordanie ou à Gaza. C'était cruel et arbitraire. Encore
aujourd'hui, cinquante ans après, la partie du Néguev située au sud de Bersheva a une
population moindre qu'en 1948. Afin de peupler les régions débarrassées de leurs
habitants (palestiniens), le Mossad trompa et terrorisa les communautés juives d'Afrique du
Nord. Les juifs furent amenés en nombre, on les pulvérisa avec du DDT afin de tuer leurs
poux et on les plaça dans des camps de réfugiés qui devinrent bientôt les villes de Netivot,
Dimona, Yerucham. Ils y sont toujours, dans des cités où dominent le chômage et
l'indigence, survivant grâce à des allocations et vouant les juifs ashkénazes aux gémonies,
comme bien d'autres avec eux, mais avec sans doute plus de motifs. Aussi, le fait qu'ils
écrivent "Les Ashkénazes : à Auschwitz !" sur les murs de leurs H.L.M. n'est pas dû au
hasard. Quelques semaines avant l'Intifada, l'establishment israélien a mis en prison un
dirigeant très populaire des juifs orientaux, le rabbin Arie Deri. Des dizaines de milliers de
Marocains étaient venus manifester devant la prison, exigeant sa libération. L'Intifada est
arrivée juste à temps pour sauver la peau des juifs Ashkénazes, leur évitant la guerre civile,
mais ce n'est que partie remise. Ainsi, la pochade de Revivim, la conquête du Néguev,
l'expulsion des Palestiniens, la destruction de la communauté juive maghrébine; tout cela a
réussi, pris isolément. Mais tout cela a échoué, globalement. Les dirigeants sionistes
rêvaient de faire de la Palestine un Etat aussi juif que l'Angleterre est anglaise. C'est raté.
La Palestine est aussi peu juive que la Jamaïque n'est anglaise. Aujourd'hui, on est en
train de dévaster la terre de Palestine, sous nos yeux. Ses beaux villages ancestraux sont
bombardés jusqu'à ce qu'il n'en reste pas pierre sur pierre; ses églises sont vidées de leurs
ouailles; ses oliviers sont arrachés. Cette terre n'avait pas connu une telle ruine depuis
l'invasion assyrienne, il y a 2700 ans. Rien ne saurait nous consoler du spectacle de cette
immense désolation et ceux qui en sont responsables -- que ce soient les tueurs israéliens
ou leurs sponsors juifs américains -- seront damnés à jamais. Toutefois, une cinglante ironie
de l'histoire restera inscrite, en note de bas de page, dans les livres, dans le futur: "C'est en
vain que les dirigeants juifs ont commis ces crimes car ils n'en ont retiré aucun bénéfice."
Même si on devait crucifier le dernier Palestinien survivant sur le mont du Golgotha, cela ne
ramènerait pas l'Etat juif d'Israël à la vie.

Ratonnades policières à Poissy
Répression contre des militants
Samedi 17 novembre 2001, les forces de police de Poissy (78) procèdent à des contrôles
musclés dans le quartier de la Coudraie. Comme d'habitude depuis l'arrivée du nouveau
commissaire Degas, les choses n'en restent pas là et dégénèrent: un jeune de 23 ans est

tabassé dans un hall, des insultes racistes et des menaces sont proférés à l'encontre des
jeunes présents.
Deux jours plus tard, les mêmes policiers viennent interpeller au domicile familial un jeune,
accusé d'outrage et rébellion...
En présence du commissaire, les policiers saccagent l'appartement, agressent les parents
et les frères et soeurs. Le père, couché et paralysé dans son lit, est frappé à coups de
matraques. Leur neveu de 17 mois est projeté contre un mur. Un des frères qui veut
s'interposer est menotté et jeté hors de l'appartement. Il est tabassé dans le hall, balancé
dans l'escalier et encore tabassé dans le fourgon et surtout au commissariat où il sera
frappé et étranglé.
Des certificats médicaux attestent d'hématomes, de plaies, de contusions et de côtes
fracturées chez le père et le frère et l'enfant de 17 mois.
Face à cette violence, toute la famille se retrouve traumatisée, notamment la mère, la soeur
de 14 ans et le petit neveu (suivis depuis par un psychologue).
Evidemment, le jeune homme menotté et seul contre une dizaine de policiers sera accusé
de rébellion et violences contre personne dépositaire de l'autorité publique.
Evidemment, les policiers mis en cause par les dizaines de témoignages des habitants qui
ont assisté aux tabassages s'en sortent tranquillement, jusqu'à maintenant.
En effet, les habitants des quartiers de Poissy n'ont pas supporté cette nouvelle agression
policière. Depuis deux ans et l'arrivée de ce commissaire Degas (qui se revendique être un
ancien légionnaire auprès des jeunes du quartier), les rapports avec les forces de police
sont devenus insupportables et synonymes de provocations et de discriminations pour les
habitants.
Et chaque fois, les victimes des violences policières sont considérées comme des
coupables et font les frais de la complaisance police/justice.
Devant ce comportement de voyous, les familles des quartiers de Poissy et des villes
voisines ont décidé de s'organiser et de ne pas se laisser faire.
Aujourd'hui, alors que le gouvernement cède aux revendications sécuritaires des syndicats
de police et que les tribunaux acquittent des policiers meurtriers, certains policiers se croient
tout permis.
Nous n'acceptons pas que nos quartiers, déjà victimes de cruels manques en matière
d'emploi et d'éducation, deviennent des défouloirs pour policiers violents et racistes.
Une manifestation doit être organisée le samedi 22 décembre 2001 à Poissy pour prouver
notre solidarité face à ces violences policières.
----------MILITANTS INTERPELLES LORS DU TRACTAGE...
Dans la nuit de jeudi à vendredi, cinq militants du MIB et deux jeunes de la cité de la
Coudraie sont interpellés à bord d'un camion alors qu'ils collaient des affiches et
distribuaient ce tract appelant à la manifestation de samedi.
L'interpellation et le contrôle qui s'en suit est opéré par des inspecteurs de la BAC de
Poissy et motivé par le fait qu'ils distribuaient un «tract diffamatoire».
Tout ce monde est embarqué au commissariat et placé en garde-à-vue au commissariat de
Poissy ( le camion est ramené au commissariat par les policiers ).
Durant toute la garde-à-vue, les policiers n'ont pas cessé d'insulter et de menacer les
membres du MIB, faisant constamment allusion à la mobilisation autour du tribunal de
Versailles en septembre dernier à l'occasion du procès du policier Hiblot.
Quatre militants sont relâchés le lendemain midi. Trois restent en garde-à-vue. Entre temps,
et 3 heures après le placement en garde-à-vue, les policiers trouvent miraculeusement une
importante quantité de hachisch dans le sac d'un des militants du MIB (il faut préciser que
le sac était resté dans le camion depuis l'interpellation).
Le samedi soir, après le passage devant le procureur de Versailles, un militant est relâché.
Il comparaîtra en février pour outrage et rébellion.
Les deux autres, Azzouz et Yacine, sont incarcérés à Bois d'Arcy. Ils comparaissent lundi
24 décembre après-midi en comparution immédiate au tribunal de Versailles, l'un pour
menace de mort par écrit à l'encontre du commissaire Degas, l'autre pour contrebande de
stupéfiants.
Aujourd'hui, une étape supplémentaire a été franchie dans la répression : la police de
Poissy couverte par le parquet de Versailles, s'attaque directement à des individus
reconnus pour leur travail militant en faveur de la justice et l'égalité de traitement dans les
quartiers, en les salissant au travers de procédures truquées et de fausses accusations.
Il est évident qu'à travers cette machination, c'est le MIB (et au-delà, tout ceux qui se
battent contre les dérives d'une politique de plus en plus sécuritaire) qui est directement
visé.

Après l'acquittement du policier Hiblot, au lendemain du non-lieu prononcé en faveur des
policiers meurtriers à Grigny et à Dammarie-les-Lys, notre combat est plus que jamais
nécessaire face à des institutions de plus en plus complaisante à l'égard du lobby policier.
La criminalisation de notre lutte et de nos militants ne nous fera pas taire.
La manifestation contre les violences policières a bien eu lieu à Poissy samedi dernier. Elle
a rassemblé plus de 300 personnes.
