Depuis toujours, nos valeurs sont restées les mêmes : innovation,
compétition et héritage. Quoi de plus parlant que 14 années de
partenariat avec l’équipe professionnelle FDJ pour illustrer ce que
nous sommes ?
L’innovation, un bien grand mot ! Un travail partagé entre la recherche,
le développement, la veille technologique, les tests et l’amélioration
des produits. Ce qui nous a permis de créer et d’amener de véritables
nouveautés, tel que le SAT sur notre modèle d’endurance Pulsium, ou
encore le profil très spécifique de nos modèles aéro comme l’Aircode
et l’Aerostorm.
La compétition… Un seul et même but : gagner ! Repousser les
frontières de la performance et aider l’équipe FDJ à dépasser ses
limites. Plus rapide, plus fort, plus loin… le haut niveau ne s’invente
pas, il se vit !
Héritage… 3 générations, une même passion ! Fier de ses origines
françaises et dijonnaises, Lapierre aime s’inscrire dans la durée.
Notre partenariat avec l’équipe FDJ dure depuis 14 ans, une des
associations les plus longues et les plus marquantes du milieu professionnel sur route.

Nowhere, can this be better demonstrated than in the partnership with
the FDJ cycling team.
Innovation: a shared work on product development, testing, improvement, a focus on technology to help win races. A ceaseless work
resulting in innovations such as the SAT on the Pulsium endurance
model and the aerodynamic features on the Aircode and Aerostorm.
Competition: bikes designed to win. Pushing the boundaries of technology
to help FDJ riders surpass their limits and ride faster, stronger, harder.
Heritage: a partnership that has endured 14 years, one of the longest
lasting partnerships in professional cycling. A partnership with two
men at its origin, Gilles Lapierre and Marc Madiot. Both proud of their
French heritage.
A partnership that has taken Lapierre bikes to stage wins on the Tour
de France, Vuelta and Giro; that took Thibaut Pinot and his Lapierre
Aircode to the 3rd place and best young rider in 2014’s Tour de France;
that took Francis Mourey to be 8 times French cyclocross champion.
A partnership that has more wins left in it yet!

RIDE FASTER, HARDER, STRONGER!
The Aircode had a great first year, taking Thibaut Pinot
to third place in the 2014 Tour de France. The many
months of development and numerous test sessions
seemed to have paid off, and resulted in a race ready
aero machine. However, the Lapierre engineers still felt
some improvements could be made, and did not rest
up! For 2016 the Aircode has been reworked and improved to be even lighter. To achieve this our engineers
optimized the carbon lay-up, reducing the number of
layers in the seat tube and head tube, whist keeping the
same levels of stiffness, appreciated by FDJ riders. The
Aircode also uses PowerBox technology for pedaling
efficiency, and semi-integrated front brakes.

Avec la troisième place de Thibaut Pinot sur le Tour de
France 2014, dès sa première année, l’Aircode a prouvé
qu’il faisait partie des grands. Les nombreux mois de
développement et de sessions de tests ont porté leurs
fruits permettant d’aboutir à une machine aéro parée
pour la course. Pour 2016, l’Aircode a été retravaillé
et perfectionné pour être encore plus léger ! Pour y
arriver, nos ingénieurs ont optimisé les épaisseurs de
carbone, tout en conservant ses caractéristiques : tube
diagonal et tube de selle profilés, frein avant direct
mount semi-intégré et technologie Powerbox pour une
transmission totale de la puissance au pédalage !

LIGHTER THAN EVER!
The legendary Lapierre Xelius has been the preferred
race machine of FDJ riders for many years now.
However, following the introduction of the Aircode and
the Pulsium in 2014, it was time to re-think the old
favourite. Our engineers set out to create a bike that
both improved the efficiency and stiffness of the old
Xelius, and also reduced the weight. They re-examined the bike entirely and came up with a completely
new design. Add to that an optimised carbon layup,
PowerBox technology, new Trap Door Technology (TDT)
for the Shimano Di2 battery…. The result: complete
performance advancement. Rigorous testing on
machines, and on tarmac by FDJ riders, and the new
Xelius SL has been deemed race ready by the very best
in French cycling.

Le légendaire Lapierre Xelius est, depuis plusieurs
années, la machine la plus utilisée par les coureurs de
la FDJ. Pour 2016, il revient dans une version complètement revue! L’objectif ? Un vélo avec une meilleure
efficacité et plus de rigidité que le Xelius d’origine, tout
en réduisant le poids. Sacré challenge. Le vélo et son
design ont été revus en intégralité. Un vélo conçu et
testé par les coureurs de l’équipe FDJ. Le résultat : un
réel plus en terme de performance et un rapport poids
rigidité jamais atteint jusqu’alors. Mais ce n’est pas tout
! Optimisation des couches de carbone avec fibres différenciées, intégration de la technologie Powerbox avec
boitier de pédalier et bases surdimensionnées, nouveau
système de fixation de la batterie Shimano Di2 (Trap
Door Technology – brevet déposé), … on ne compte plus
les innovations présentes sur ce seul modèle.
