They end up looking like timeless treasures of our civilization. This romantic idea has also inspired Barbier’s other sculpture shown on our booth: Eternity. This sculpted golden word materializes the attraction of the unattainable, and remains a treasure even though being covered with tar and feather. Gilles Barbier, Eternity, 2014 Peybak, the Iranian duet composed by Babak Alebrahim Dehkordi and Peyman Barabadi is back this year on our booth with two paintings from the AbrakanOrient series. Asserting the influence of Iranian poems and mythologies as well as their resolutely contemporary culture, the four-handed develop an original and abundant world reminding us as much of Persian miniatures as of heroic fantasy. Peybak currently work on their solo show to come at the gallery in January 2017. Peybak, Abrakan Orient #2, 2015 Portrait of a Young Woman by Keith Tyson is part of a series started in 2013. The british artist re-worked several times with different mediums on an existing painting. The superposition of topics and techniques from different periods engenders mysterious and timeless works with interwoven patterns and complex surfaces. Recently shown at the Centre Pompidou, Keith Tyson is currently working on a new solo show at the gallery for Summer 2017. Séquence Ravenne Bleue is one of the rare example of collaboration between Jacques Villeglé and Raymond Hains dated from the beginning of the 50’s, when they were both aged 24. Inspired by the palette of Matisse, by Breton folks costumes and by mosaics, this set of 38 abstract and colourful drawings is a complete sequences of a unique experimental movie created by Villeglé and Hains when artist’s films were still in their beginnings. From the artist César, member of the same historical art movement, we will present an unique Expansion dated 1977 covered with a magnificent oily blue colour painting. The title refers directly to the material of the sculpture, the polyurethane foam that has been spread by the artist but whose shape is freely defined by the medium itself. This bespoke selection made for Abu Dhabi displayed our involvment within both New Realism and Contemporary Art.
