The third largest island of the 8 “main” Hawaiian Islands, is home to the majority of Hawaii’s diverse population, a fusion of East and West cultures rooted in the values and traditions of the native Hawaiian people. This is an island of activity. Whether you’re learning to surf in legendary Waikiki, hiking through the rich rainforests of Waimea Valley, or watching the brilliant pastels of dusk fade off of Sunset Beach , you’ll find variety at every turn on Oahu. Island of Oahu = The City & County of Honolulu, approximately 75% of the state’s population. Honolulu is the capital of the State of Hawaii. Oahu Population: 953,207 Time Zone: Hawaii Standard Time (GMT-10 hours). We are 2 hours behind the US West Coast, 3 hours behind during Daylight Saving Time (Hawaii does not observe Daylight Saving Time). Languages: English, Hawaiian Currency: US dollar. Credit cards are widely accepted. Traveler’s checks are accepted at many businesses. Average Temperature: 75˚-85˚ F. Area Code/Cell phones: The area code for all of Hawaii is (808). Cell phone coverage is readily available in most places if you’re coming from the US. Check your carrier and calling plan for details. Internet Access: Internet access is readily available on Oahu and at many hotels. PERSONAL SAFETY: Many visitors to Hawaii are so happy to be here, so entranced by the beauty and hospitality, they tend to let their guard down and do things they would not do at home. Visitors need to be as security-conscious as they are at home. This means: • Do not leave anything of value unattended or in plain sight in your car, anywhere, especially on the beach, in restaurants or lobbies. Lock them in your trunk if you must carry them before arriving at the destination. Bottom Line…pay attention to your surroundings, be safe. Hawaii Youth Soccer Association has secured the services of CSTT to manage the block of rooms. Please contact CSTT (info below) to block rooms for your state association teams. A complete listing of hotels can be found at the following link: http://secure.cstt.com/Tournaments/HotelList_Results.php?eventid=5456 Honolulu is a very busy place in June, and the Hawaiian hotel market does have certain practices which are not common in other areas. In order to make this as affordable and easy as possible for teams, there are certain policies your team should know. - Hotel rates posted are the best group rates available for any of the hotels listed. - CSTT will only book into hotels teams that have QUALIFIED for the tournament. Each State will be providing a list of teams as they qualify. - Some State Associations have set aside blocks of rooms to accommodate their qualified teams. Teams from those States are required to stay at those hotels. - A number of the hotels require a deposit when the Rooming List is provided. Hotels with such a policy will have information listed in the Details page for that hotel. - CSTT will have the ability to book individuals into a hotel that is not where their team is staying. If an individual prefers to stay at a different hotel due to budgetary or personal taste considerations, CSTT will do our best to accommodate them. http://secure.cstt.com/Tournaments/HotelList_Results.php?eventid=5456 Bill Long Senior Event Coordinator CSTT Sports Travel 866-861-8326 866-877-5728 fax www.cstt.com Hotel Hotel Address Ala Moana Hotel (Headquarter Hotel) Aston Pacific Monarch 410 Atkinson Drive Room Type Hotel/Condo 2427 Kuhio Avenue Condo Aston Waikiki Banyan Aston Waikiki Sunset Aston Wakiki Beach Hotel Courtyard by Marriott Waikiki Beach 201 Ohua Avenue 229 Paoakalani Avenue 2570 Kalakaua Avenue 400 Royal Hawaiian Ave Condo Condo Hotel Hotel Doubletree by Hilton Alana Waikiki 1956 Ala Moana Blvd. Hotel Embassy Suites Waikiki Beach Walk Hilton Hawaiian Village 201 Beachwalk St. 2005 Kalia Road Hotel Hotel Holiday Inn Resort - Waikiki Beachcomber Hyatt Place Suites 2300 Kalakaua Ave. Hotel 175 Paoakalani Ave Hotel Hyatt Regency Waikiki Beach JW Marriott Ihilani Resort 2424 Kalakaua Ave 1001 Olani St. (Ko'olina) Hotel Hotel Marriott Waikiki Beach Resort Ohana Honolulu Airport Hotel Ohana Waikiki East 2552 Kalakaua Avenue 3401 N.
