Marsha s’est imposée dans le Qatar Prix de l’Abbaye de Longchamp (Gr1), dimanche à
Chantilly. La future lauréate a patienté dans le sillage des animateurs pendant le parcours. Just
Glamorous a évolué en tête avant d’être relayé par Mecca's Angel. A cent cinquante mètres de
l’arrivée, la future lauréate a très nettement créé la différence. Elle décroche son premier Gr1
avec moins d’une longueur d’avance. Washington DC est proche deuxième, avec une encolure
d’avance sur Mecca's Angel.

« Marsha est une très bonne pouliche. Elle a fait une grande course aujourd'hui. C'est une
pouliche qui est spécialisée sur 1.000m, comme elle l'a prouvé dans ce Groupe 1. Elle a terminé
sa saison sur cette victoire et va prendre du repos. Elle reviendra à 4ans et partira au haras à la fin
de l'année 2017. »

« Finsbury Square réalise une très bonne valeur. Ce n'était pas vraiment un avantage d'être tout en

MARSHA WINS HER FIRST GROUP 1 IN THE QATAR PRIX DE L'ABBAYE DE
LONGCHAMP
Marsha won the Qatar Prix de l'Abbaye de Longchamp (Group 1) in Chantilly on Sunday. The
future winner settled just behind the leaders, with Just Glamorous hitting the lead before being
passed by favorite Mecca's Angel. But 100 meters from the post, Marsha moved through horses
to hit the front and she took her first Group 1 by less than a length. Washington DC was the
close second, holding a neck advantage over Mecca's Angel.

“Marsha is a very good filly. She ran a huge race today. She's really a specialist over 1,000
meters, which she proved today in winning a Group 1. She'll end her season with this victory and

AL MOURTAJEZ EN CHAMPION DU MONDE DES CHEVAUX ARABES
Mourtajez a survolé l’édition 2016 de la Qatar Arabian World Cup (Groupe 1 Arabes Purs),
dimanche à Chantilly. Il s’est montré un peu agité au début de l’épreuve, mais dans la ligne
droite, le représentant d’Al Shaqab Racing a écrasé l’opposition. Al Mourtajez conserve son titre
en s’imposant avec plus de quatre longueurs d’avance. Mehdaaf Athbah, qui a réalisé de grands
progrès depuis ses dernières sorties, se classe deuxième. Tayf se classe proche troisième, après
avoir été judicieusement supplémenté.

« On courait pour une place donc le contrat est plus que rempli. C'est un cheval encore neuf en
compétition, mais dur dans son comportement. On le voit à la fin, il repart pour venir prendre la
deuxième place sur le poteau. Il fait sa meilleure valeur. J'avais dit en début d'année que c'était un
cheval d'Arc, j'ai eu quelques doutes cet été mais je suis resté sur ma position. C'était son objectif
de l'année. Je pense que je vais le laisser tranquille cette année pour l'économiser et qu'il revienne
encore plus fort l'an prochain. »

« Il est encore un peu tendre, mais il court très bien, et je pense que l'an prochain, ça sera très
bien. C'était la meilleure chance des chevaux que j'avais emmenés en France pour cette course, et
nous avons donc fait le bon choix en le supplémentant. »

AL MOURTAJEZ WORLD CHAMPION ARABIAN
Al Mourtajez flew home in the 2016 edition of the Qatar Arabian World Cup (Group 1 Arabian)
on Sunday in Chantilly. Carrying the colors of Al Shaqab Racing, Al Mourtajez didn't settle in
the opening stages of the race, but he crushed the opposition when he turned into the stretch. He
defended his title by winning by four lengths. Mehdaaf Athbah, who has showed a huge
improvement in his last few races, got up for second. Tayf was a close third, rewarding his
connections for the supplementary entry.

“It's incredible! He was even better and I'm even more impressed. He's a true champion, and out
of the ordinary. At the moment the Triple Crown no longer scares me! At the moment, I have run
out of ways to describe him. Today, Julien didn't even have to pick up his stick...”

Phillipe Sogorb (trainer):
“We ran for a place and he did what was asked of him. He's still relative new to racing, but he's
tough in himself. That we saw in the closing stages, when he picked back up to take second place
on the line. He's given his best ever performance here. I said at the beginning of the year that he
was an Arc horse, and although I had a few doubts over the summer, I kept to my decision. It was
his objective this year. I think I will now leave him alone and keep him for next year.”

“He is still a little weak, but he ran well and I think he'll be better next year. He was the best
chance out of all the horses I brought to France for this race, and we made the right decision to
