Ab Initio ATPL Training Requirements Training Duration Positive GAPF-Test (Gesellschaft für Angewandte Psychologische Forschung) in Wuerzburg, Germany or Lufthansa, Condor or Turkish Airlines Basic Professional Examination (Berufsgrunduntersuchung, BU) at the German Aerospace Center (Deutsches Zentrum für Luft- und Raumfahrt, DLR) in Hamburg ICAO English Language Proficiency Test Level 4 Medicals: EASA Class 1 Medical (issued by an EASA approved Aeromedical Center), FAA Class 3 Medical Flying Experience: No previous flying experience is required. Eventual previous flying experience can be credited to the extent approved by the German Civil Aviation Authority. Approximately 19 months Training schedule Theory Phase I Flight Phase I Theory Phase II Flight Phase II MCC Theory Frankfurt 7 weeks Visual Flying VRB/RLG* 14 weeks ATPL Theory Frankfurt 38 weeks Instrument Flying VRB/RLG* 16 weeks Simulator Training Frankfurt/Berlin 1 week Total Flight Hours *VRB=Vero Beach (Florida)/ RLG= Rostock-Laage 205 hours flight training on modern aircraft: 121 hours DA20, DA40 and Piper Warrior Cadet/Piper Arrow 45 hours FNPT II (Flight Navigation Procedure Trainer) 19 hours on twin-engine Piper PA-44 20 hours Multi-Crew Cooperation (MCC) on a full flight simulator Language Costs Single payment Down payment plus 12 monthly rates of 1.800 EUR Course documentation and communication in English Official Exams 69,900 EUR 50,000 EUR + 21,600 EUR Theoretical and practical Radio Telephony Skill Test ICAO English Language Proficiency Test Level 4 Theoretical ATPL(A) exam according to EASA at the German Civil Aviation Authority CPL(A)/IR skill test Services The training program includes: all takeoff-, landing- and airway fees, all flight hours, theoretical training and courseware, Computer Based Training, CRP5 aviation calculator, navigation plotter, all maps and chart material, calculator, uniform, pilot case, flight logbook, accident insurance, Operations Manual and Training Manual (loan).
