Mathilde is going to help me learn some
French.
Mathilde: What do you want to learn today, Emma?
Emma:
Well, today we’re in a bookshop and we’re
reading books about animals, but I don’t
really understand them. So, I thought you

Mathilde: Mmm. Bonne idée! Moi, j’adore les

Emma:

Mathilde: Yes, so what does this mean? Tu as un
animal?
Emma:
Do you have an animal?
Mathilde: Yes! Tu as un animal à la maison? Do you
have an animal at home?
Emma:
Ah! So it’s like asking me if I have a pet!
Mathilde: Oui, c’est exactement ça! On va répéter la
question. Tu as un animal à la maison?
Emma:
Tu as un animal à la maison?
Mathilde: Tu as un animal à la maison? Bravo!
Emma:

Note that in the plural the adjective
rouge has to be in the plural form
too: rouges
Mathilde: Oui! Number 3: I say English, you say
French! Do you have a pet?
Emma:
