I must admit it’s difficult for me... My wife died 3 years ago.
My kids are away, they have their own life now. That is why I
feel a little lonely.
Activity :
I am a woodworker since the age of 17 years. I was trained
by a trained guide. I hate stress and constraints. I am also
passionate about rock.
I offer:
I would be happy to lend my support through my experience
as a woodworker. I can open the doors of my workshop and
lend my tools.
I dream of:
I’ve always dreamed of being a rock star! I’d love being part
of a group! But I do not play electric guitar…

Change experienced:
I just got divorced. I have custody of my two children
who are 10 and 12 years. I also have a lot of questions
about my work where I start to get bored. Anyway ...

Activity :
I am part of a team of nutritionists in a large group for
10 years. The work is a bit redundant.

I dream of:
Given the questions I asked myself in my personal and professional life, I would like to
discover new things and take time for myself. I love everything that is related to the interior
design and the wood. I started to paint some furniture that I recovered and I bought some
specialized books. I also made a "stage chaste" but it was not satisfactory...
I’m bored…
…I need to feel useful and I
want to live my passion!
My grandson found
ShareLiveGrow, a service that
could help me. He gave me a
phone number, I’m calling it.
A nice woman asks me few questions and
offers that I attend an information
meeting in a café nearby, in a week.
Sunday at 4 pm. I go to the café.
I order a hot drink, listen to a presenter and
watch videos testimonials.
I tell myself this is great. I am not only going to
find someone to train, but also maybe find a
group to play guitar with!
2 days later, I get a call from a person who would like
to build some shelves.
We talk for a long time and I grasp that he lives in a tiny
space. He cannot move so he has decided to rearrange his place
in order to improve his comfort.
We arrange a meeting on the following Wednesday.
Wednesday. Luc arrives. We share a coffee and then go to my workshop.
I guide Luc in building his shelves.
I also offer him to review the plans of his apartment to find together
how to create a pleasant living space.
A few weeks later, I get a call from Jane. She tells me she
is full of doubts and would like to test her woodworking
skills.
I tell her to come on the following Sunday to live to the
experience of making a chair out of wood.
I greet Jane and show her around my workshop.
I walk her through the different steps of making a chair.
She’s pretty good at it!
I make us a cup of tea.
Jane is thrilled by her experience!
I am confused both at work and at home…
I need to make some time for me to try out new things.
I enjoy interior design and wood as a material.
I bought a few how to do book. I also attended a demonstration
at a DIY store, but it was not very helpful, we were 10 people…!
This morning at the coffee break, I heard Stephanie
talking about how she learned the art of pastry with a
certain Mr. Buttersugar through « Share Live Grow ».
Back at my desk, I decide to look up the ShareLiveGrow website.
Fantastic ! I discover Georges. He has workshop full of woodworking
tools in Meaux and he wants to share & show his skills!
I register on the ShareLiveGrow website.
I call Georges. I tell him about my project.
He sounds cool!
Georges est très compréhensif et il me propose
de m’aider à construire moi-même une chaise et
ainsi d’évaluer ma capacité à travailler le bois !
On D Day, I go to Georges’ workshop.
He walks me through the differents steps involved in making a
chair. He corrects me and explains how to proceed correctly!
At the end of the afternoon, I leave.
I’m thrilled by my experience !
I now really want to buy the necessary equipment to pursue
this experience with all Georges’ advices in mind!
Back home, I log on sharelivegrow.com and
share my wonderful experience!
2 weeks later, I have built my 1rst chair all by myself. I call up
Georges and invite him over for lunch to admire my handiwork.
Sunday noon, Gorges arrives at my home!
