2006 Co-director Modus Operandi.
Modus Operandi is an independent research institute with its offices in the University Pierre
Mendes France in Grenoble. Its research is focusing on political transition in post-crisis
countries and State and society relations in general.

2004-2006 Researcher, Ecole de la Paix (EdP), Grenoble, France
Conducting a 3-year research project on states in transition to democracy focusing on 6 postconflict countries and 4 former Soviet states. Outcomes:
 Analytical framework for understanding dilemma’s and opportunities for (post-conflict)
countries in transition to democracy, which serves as basis for regional consultations
(South Africa June 2008 and Central Asia September 2009)

2001 – 2004 Program Manager, The Network University, Amsterdam, The Netherlands
Tasks included fund raising and developing an online training programme on transforming civil
conflicts and gender and conflict transformation. Activities included the management of an
international team of seven experts in gender and conflict to develop course content.
Responsible for a budget of 150.000 euro.
2000 – 2001 Content Developer, African Centre for the Constructive Resolution of
Disputes (ACCORD), Durban, South Africa
Content Development team member, responsible for developing the organisation’s training
material.
2000 Student Research Associate, CHAIN, China
As part of a team consisting of 20 members (CHAIN), conducted investigation into relations
between Western managers and Chinese employees in foreign invested companies in China.
