The Nova Scotia Community College has been such a blessing to us in sending us students who are helping us build our first home. The major wind storm in December blew down all our roof trusses. Volunteer with us in January after we get roof tight and help us keep moving forward! AND THEN… from http://www.habitatav.com/news.html December 15 The storm which hit the Valley area, unfortunately did not spare our new construction on Maple Avenue. The wind caused some major damage to our trusses. Regardless it did not damper our spirits and certainly not the spirits of the great team of students who have been working on the build from Kings Tech. They will be repairing any damage and as a result have all secured at the site for beginning of new year. Our Kings' Tech students will return to the site in early January and simply pick up were they left off. What a God send they have been! http://www.batashoemuseum.ca/ Contact your library: Circ Desk Contact Information: Phone: 679-7380 Email: [email protected] Librarian Contact Information: Phone: 679-7379 Cell: 670-1055 Email: [email protected] Hundreds of shoes (from a collection numbering over 10,000) are on exhibit in architect Raymond Moriyama's award-winning four-storey structure. The Museum celebrates the style and function of footwear in four impressive galleries. Footwear on display ranges from Chinese bound foot shoes and ancient Egyptian sandals to chestnut-crushing clogs and glamourous platforms. Over 4,500 years of history and a collection of 20th-century celebrity shoes are reflected in the semipermanent exhibition, All About Shoes. Three other galleries feature changing exhibitions, so there's always something new to see. Google This! “We’re planning on 600 guests: the food will be fantastic, there’s a really interesting mix of people who appreciate local products and want to support the Valley and come out to an event like this”, nous dit Nicole Robinson de NSCC Kingstec.
