ABOUT THE IPC
ENGLISH:
The International Paralympic Committee (IPC) is the global governing body of the Paralympic
Movement. The IPC organizes the Summer and Winter Paralympic Games, and serves as the
International Federation for nine sports, for which it supervises and co-ordinates the World
Championships and other competitions. The IPC is committed to enabling Paralympic athletes to
achieve sporting excellence and to developing sport opportunities for persons with a disability
from the beginner to elite level. In addition, the IPC aims to promote the Paralympic values, which
include courage, determination, inspiration and equality.

Das Internationale Paralympische Komitee (IPC) ist der internationale Dachverband der
Paralympischen Bewegung. Das IPC organisiert die Paralympischen Sommer- und Winterspiele
und agiert ebenso als internationaler Verband für neun Sportarten, für die es Weltmeisterschaften
und andere Wettkämpfe überwacht und koordiniert. Das IPC ist bestrebt Paralympischen
Athleten die besten Möglichkeiten zur sportlichen Entfaltung zu geben und unterstützt die
Entwicklung von Sportmöglichkeiten für Menschen mit einer Behinderung in der ganzen Welt,
sowohl auf Anfänger- als auch auf Leistungssportniveau. Zusätzlich wirbt das IPC für die
Paralympischen Werte, wie Mut, Entschlossenheit, Inspiration und Gleichheit.

Le Comité International Paralympique (IPC) est la fédération internationale du mouvement
Paralympique. L'IPC organise les jeux Paralympiques d'été et d'hiver, et agit en tant que
fédération internationale pour neuf sports, pour lesquels il dirige et coordonne les championnats
du monde ainsi que d’autres compétitions. L'IPC s’efforce de permettre aux athlètes
Paralympiques d'atteindre le plus haut niveau d'excellence sportive et s’engage à développer
pour toute personne avec un handicap des occasions de faire du sport, qu’elle soit débutante ou
professionnelle. De plus, l'IPC promeut les valeurs Paralympiques, parmi lesquelles le courage, la
détermination, l'inspiration et l'égalité.

El Comité Paralímpico Internacional (IPC) es la organización que gobierna el Movimiento
Paralimpico. El IPC organiza los Juegos Paralímpicos de verano y de invierno. Además ejerce
como federación internacional para 9 deportes, para los cuales supervisa y coordina los
campeonatos mundiales y otras competiciones deportivas. El IPC se dedica a ayudar a los atletas
paralímpicos alcanzar un nivel de excelencia deportiva, y a fomentar oportunidades para la
práctica deportiva de las personas con discapacidades, que tengan un nivel básico o profesional.
Además, el IPC promueve los valores paralímpicos, como el coraje, la determinación, la
inspiración y la igualdad.
