Proper Bicycle Lock Up
Place your bike against a well-anchored object, like a pole or parking meter,
with chain ring facing out. After following one of the lock-up procedures
below, replace lock crossbar and rotate key 180 degrees. Remove key. Check
the lock before leaving your bike to be sure it is properly secured.
(A) Remove your front wheel and place it by your rear wheel. Place Kryptonite
U-Lock shackle around the pole and through both seat stays (if frame size will
allow) and the two wheels.
(B) For extra security, place the Kryptonite U-Lock shackle around the pole, your
bike frame and through your rear wheel. Loop a KryptoFlex™ cable, or locking

Requirements in the event of a theft:
1. Report the theft to the police within 72 hours.
2. Mail notice of the theft to Kryptonite WITHIN SEVEN (7) DAYS

and/or broken links– required as proof of product failure (We

Kryptonite requires proof of payment from your insurance company prior to
paying your deductible. Failure to forward all materials within 90 days will

Kryptonite is not responsible for non-receipt of mail.
Note: If your bicycle is stolen within 15 days of the lock purchase prior to
fulfilling the “Requirements to validate your Anti-Theft Protection Offer”
(above) Kryptonite will accept your claim for the Anti-Theft Protection Offer. In
this event, please send all required paperwork to Kryptonite. If your bicycle is
stolen within 15 days of the lock purchase and you sent all required paperwork
to Kryptonite, but we have not received it, Kryptonite will accept your claim for
the Anti-Theft Protection Offer. Any claims filed under the Anti-Theft Protection

Limitations
This Anti-Theft Protection Offer expires ONE YEAR from postmark date of registration and applies only to the registered lock owner and bicycle registered with

Limited Warranty
Kryptonite warrants this Kryptonite Lock against defects in material and
workmanship resulting from normal, ordinary and reasonable use for the
lifetime of the lock. Our liability is limited to foregoing express warranty, but

a) Eine Kopie Ihrer Kryptonite-Garantie-Bestätigung.
b) Das vollständig ausgefüllte und unterschriebene "Garantie-Formular
für den Schadensfall".
c) Mindestens ein Original-Schlüssel Ihres registrierten Kryptonite Schlosses.
d) Wir behalten uns vor, bei Diebstahl das aufgebrochene Schloss als
Nachweis des Versagens unseres Produktes anzufordern.
e) Eine Bestätigung der Polizei über die Meldung des Diebstahls
mit Angabe der Rahmennummer und falls vorhanden der Codierung.
f) Falls Sie eine Hausrat- und/oder Fahrraddiebstahl-Versicherung
abgeschlossen haben: eine Kopie Ihrer Schadensmeldung an Ihre
Versicherung und ein Beleg, aus dem hervorgeht, welchen Betrag Ihre
Versicherung übernimmt. Sollte der Beleg innerhalb der Frist nicht
vorliegen, kann der Kryptonite Service Deutschland die Frist verlängern,
wenn Sie nachweisen, dass Sie die Verzögerung nicht verursacht haben.
g) Der Kryptonite Service Deutschland behält sich vor, eine polizeiliche
Bestätigung zu verlangen aus der hervorgeht, dass die Ermittlungen
eingestellt wurden.
h) Sofern begründete Anhaltspunkte für einen Missbrauch der KryptoniteGarantie, z. B. für einen vorgetäuschten Diebstahl, vorliegen, behält sich
der Kryptonite Service Deutschland vor, die Erstattung des Schadens von
der Vorlage geeigneter Materialien abhängig zu machen.
i) Der Kryptonite Service Deutschland behält sich vor, den Tatort zur
Überprüfung der Richtigkeit der Angaben durch eine Person seines
Vertrauens besichtigen zu lassen.
Wenn die Unterlagen nicht spätestens 45 Tage nach dem Diebstahl vollständig
beim Kryptonite Service Deutschland vorliegen verfällt die Garantie. Der
Kryptonite Service Deutschland haftet nicht für verlorengegangene
Sendungen. Ein Schadensfall wird bei Vorliegen aller Unterlagen frühestens 30
Tage nach dem Diebstahl abschließend bearbeitet.

Das Fahrrad an gut beleuchteter Stelle abschließen • Das Fahrrad an ein
Objekt anschließen, das sicher im Boden eingelassen oder einbetoniert ist
und das einen Aufsatz hat, der Diebe daran hindert, das Schloss über die
Oberkante des Objektes zu heben • Den Schließmechanismus nach unten
richten • Die Räder und den Rahmen eng umschließen, damit Diebe im U-Teil
des Schlosses keine Werkzeuge ansetzen können • Das Fahrrad nicht freistehend abschließen oder an Objekte anschließen, die leicht abgetrennt werden
können • Das Fahrrad nicht immer an der gleichen Stelle abschließen • Das
Schloss nicht am Boden anbringen, damit Diebe das Schloss weder mit
Hebelkraft noch durch Zerquetschen brechen können • Das Fahrrad immer
abschließen.
Auch nach Ablauf der Garantiedauer ersetzt Kryptonite USA Ihr Schloss, wenn
es bei sachgemäßer Behandlung innerhalb von 10 Jahren ab Kaufdatum infolge
eines Material- oder Herstellungsmangels nicht mehr funktionstüchtig ist.

Richtiges Abschließen des Fahrrades
Das Fahrrad mit dem Kettenkranz nach außen an ein gut verankertes Objekt
wie zum Beispiel einen Pfahl oder eine Parkuhr lehnen. Gemäß einer der
nachstehenden Möglichkeiten sichern, den Schlosskörper anbringen und
den Schlüssel 180 Grad drehen. Den Schlüssel abziehen. Das Schloss zur
Sicherheit vor dem Weggehen prüfen, ob es tatsächlich abgeschlossen ist.
(A) Das Vorderrad herausnehmen und neben das Hinterrad stellen. Den
U-förmigen Bügel des Kryptonite™ Schlosses um den Pfahl und durch beide
Hinterradgabelstreben (falls bei der Rahmengröße möglich) sowie durch beide
Räder legen.

Tipps zur maximalen Sicherung Ihres Fahrrades
Innerhalb von 15 Tagen nach dem Kauf Ihres Kryptonite-Schlosses schicken
Sie folgende Unterlagen an den Kryptonite Service Deutschland:
1) Den vollständig ausgefüllten und unterschriebenen
"Registrierabschnitt für Ersatzschlüssel und Garantie"
2) Eine Kopie des Kaufbeleges Ihres Kryptonite-Schlosses Sollte Ihr Schloss
nicht mehr funktionieren, schicken Sie es mit einer Beschreibung des Mangels
an den Kryptonite Service Deutschland. Bei Vorliegen eines Material- oder
Herstellungsmangels erhalten Sie dann ein gleichwertiges Kryptonite-Schloss
aus der dann aktuellen Serie.
Bedingungen der Kryptonite-Garantie
• Den Fahrradrahmen immer an ein Objekt anschließen, das fest im Boden
verankert und oben so geformt ist, dass das Schloss nicht mitsamt Fahrrad
nach oben abgehoben werden kann.
Die Kryptonite-Garantie
• Rahmen und ggf. Laufräder so anschließen, dass innerhalb des
Bügelschlosses möglichst wenig Platz bleibt, damit Diebe möglichst keine
Chance haben, Werkzeuge anzusetzen.
• Das Fahrrad möglichst nicht regelmäßig am selben Ort abstellen.
• Das Schloss nicht in Bodennähe anbringen, um einem Dieb keinen festen
Punkt für Hebel zu bieten.
• Sichern Sie ggf. das Vorderrad und weiteres Zubehör zusätzlich mit einem
Kryptonite Kabel-Schloss oder Endschlaufenkabel.
• Prüfen Sie vor dem Weggehen zur Sicherheit noch einmal, ob das Schloss
wirklich verriegelt ist.
Gleichschließende Schlösser
Es ist möglich, verschiedene Kryptonite-Schlösser gegen Aufpreis mit derselben Schlüsselnummer („gleichschließend“) zu bestellen. Wenden Sie sich dazu
bitte an Ihren Fahrradfachhändler. Darüber, welche Schlösser (Modell,
Herstellungsjahr) hinsichtlich eines gleichen Schließzylinders zueinander
passen informiert Sie gerne auch der Kryptonite Service Deutschland.

Die Kryptonite Garantie
Die Kryptonite-Garantie ist eine Hersteller-Garantie, sie ist keine Fahrraddiebstahl-Versicherung. Die Kryptonite USA begrenzt mit dieser Garantie Ihr
Schadensrisiko, wenn Ihr Fahrrad auf Grund eines Versagens Ihres KryptoniteSchlosses gestohlen wurde. Kryptonite zahlt Ihnen Ihren durch den
Fahrraddiebstahl entstandenen Schaden bis zu einem Betrag von 1.000 Ä
entsprechend den Regelungen dieser Garantie, wenn Ihr Schloss von einem
Dieb aufgebrochen wurde und alle Bedingungen dieser Garantie erfüllt werden.
Kryptonite erweitert mit dieser Garantie die gesetzlichen Gewährleistungs-und

und die Codierung (falls vorhanden) an den Kryptonite Service Deutschland
senden. Sie erhalten dann eine neue Garantiebestätigung. Damit wird die alte
Garantie-Bestätigung für das alte Fahrrad ungültig.
9) gilt nur für Personen mit festem Wohnsitz in der Bundesrepublik
Deutschland.
10) ist nicht auf andere Personen übertragbar.
11) gilt nicht für juristische Personen
12) begrenzt Ihren Schaden im Falle eines Diebstahls, bei dem das in der
Garantie-Bestätigung genannte Kryptonite-Schloss aufgebrochen wurde. Die
Höhe der garantierten Ersatzleistung bemisst sich nach dem registrierten Wert
Ihres Fahrrades plus dem Wert des registrierten Schlosses abzüglich
eventueller Zahlungen Ihrer Versicherung(en). Wird das Fahrrad nach einem
Diebstahl wiedergefunden, bemisst sich die garantierte Ersatzleistung im Falle
eines Totalschadens nach dem in der Garantie-Bestätigung genannten Wert,
ansonsten nach den erforderlichen Reparaturkosten für die durch den Diebstahl entstandenen Beschädigungen.
13) ist begrenzt auf den in der Garantie-Bestätigung genannten Betrag.
14) Kryptonite haftet aus dieser Garantie nicht für darüber hinausgehende
Schäden und Folgeschäden, auch wenn sie im Zusammenhang mit dem
Diebstahl entstanden sind. Zwingende gesetzliche Haftungsregelungen bleiben
von der Kryptonite-Garantie unberührt.
15) Bei begründetem Verdacht des Missbrauchs behält sich der Kryptonite
Service Deutschland vor, vor Ausstellung der Garantie-Bestätigung weitere
Unterlagen anzufordern.
16) Salvatorische Klausel: Sollte eine dieser Bestimmungen unvollständig oder
unwirksam sein, so bleibt die Rechtswirksamkeit der übrigen Bestimmungen
hiervon unberührt. Anstelle der unwirksamen oder unvollständigen
Bestimmungen gilt diejenige Bestimmung, die dem wirtschaftlich gewollten
Ergebnis am nächsten kommt.
