Flag Act
Loi sur le drapeau officiel
WHEREAS it is deemed expedient to adopt a
flag of historical significance as the provincial
flag of the Province of Ontario;

drapeau officiel de la province de !'Ontario

AND WHEREAS it is desirable that such
flag have the design and colouring of the
Canadian Red Ensign except that the badge
in the fly be the shield of the armorial bearings of the Province of Ontario granted by
Royal Warrant in 1868;
Therefore, Her Majesty, by and with the
advice and consent of the Legislative Assemb/y of the Province of Ontario, enacts as
follows:

ET ATTENDU qu'il est souhaitable que
le drapeau présente le modèle et les couleurs
du Pavillon rouge du Canada, à l'exception
de l'insigne du battant, qui doit représenter
l'écu des armoiries de la province de !'Ontario accordé par mandat royal en 1868;
Sa Majesté, sur l'avis et avec le consentement de l'Assemblée législative de la province
de /'Ontario, décrète ce qui suit :
1. The flag described and illustrated in the
Schedule to this Act is the provincial flag of
the Province of Ontario. R.S.O. 1980,
