RE124HG Honeywell®-to-GE® Wireless Translator™
RE124HG Honeywell®-to-GE® Wireless Translator™ Features • Listens to Honeywell protocol wireless devices. • Transmits GE protocol wireless. • Enrolls up to 63 devices. • Unique wireless ID (or loop) for each zone, plus 1 for main device. • All sensor alarm, supervisory and trouble signals are passed through. • Dual antennas for both Receive and Transmit diversity for reliable range. • Back-up battery operation. • Complete supervision of tampers, external power fault and low battery. Key Instructions • External supply: 12V DC at least 50 mA. NON-SWITCHED outlet. Wire polarity DOES NOT matter. • 3 AAA Alkaline batteries give 72 hours backup if external supply fails. INSTALL BATTERIES ONLY WHEN EXTERNAL SUPPLY IS READY TO CONNECT. • If only powered with batteries, Translator beeps once a minute indicating loss of power. • Mount Translator at least 20 feet from Control Panel’s receiver. • Enrolling: Sensors 1. Place Panel in Learn Sensors mode. 2. Press Translator Enroll switch repeatedly until Device Type LED matches the type of device you’re enrolling. ENROLLING AS WRONG DEVICE TYPE CAN CAUSE IMPROPER OPERATION. 3. Activate particular Honeywell sensor as follows: o PIR: Tamper – ENROLL PIRs FIRST No tamper on Honeywell 5800PIR-RES: Insert battery (Used for PIRs and Glass Break sensors) o Panic: Button o Key Fob: Lower Right o DWS: Tamper NOTE: Honeywell 5800 Micra, 5811 Micro, 5814 Micro, 5818 Recessed, 5820L are enrolled by inserting the battery. 4. Automatic responses: o Green LED blinks on receipt of Honeywell packets. o Translator beeps on enrollment into Translator. o Red LED blinks on transmit of GE packet to panel. o The Translator transmits packets to the panel as soon as it learns a new sensor. 5. Panel, if in Learn Sensors mode, will generally learn the GEcompatible packets simultaneously Main Translator device 1. Place Panel in Learn Sensors mode. 2. To enroll Translator itself, press tamper switch on Translator. 3. Select Group based on how you want Translator tamper to report: a. Group 10 will report Translator tamper to central station on next supervisory. Tamper will cause protest at arming. b. Group 36 will alarm and report Translator tamper to central station immediately. Press enroll button repeatedly until all Device Type LEDs are off. 2. Press and hold enroll key for 5 seconds until beep. Delete one Device Type: 1. Press enroll button repeatedly until target Device Type LED is lit. 2. Press and hold enroll key for 5 seconds until beep. Operation • • Existing Honeywell protocol sensors transmit as usual. Translator passes information on to control panel as if they were GE transmitters. Honeywell fob: Lower left = Lights, lower right = panic (= GE double button press), although can be non-alarm in panel. • Translator Module Zone wireless transmission ( unique ID): Tamper, when cover opened. Also sends restore. Low battery, when low battery. Also sends restore. Supervisory every hour. Supervisory stopped if 12V DC power absent. Translator Module does not send any alarm signals about itself. • LED Operation Green LED • On if 12V DC power present. • Blinks on receipt of Honeywell-compatible packets. Red LED • On if device low battery (unless there’s no 12V DC power). • Blinks on transmit of GE-compatible packets. Resolution recommends verifying proper enrollment and operation, per control panel installation instructions, at installation. Do not use Translator for life safety devices, such as smoke or CO sensors. Patent 8,456,278 Warranty Resolution Products, Inc. will replace products that are defective in their first five (5) years. FCC Notice This device complies with Part 15 of the FCC rules. Operation is subject to the following two conditions: (1)This device may not cause harmful interference. (2)This device must accept any interference that may be received, including interference that may cause undesired operation. Changes or modifications not expressly approved by Resolution Products, Inc. could void the user's authority to operate this equipment. FCC ID: U5X-RE124 IC Notice This device complies with Industry Canada license-exempt RSS standard(s). Operation is subject to the following two conditions: (1)This device may not cause interference, and (2)This device must accept any interference, including interference that may cause undesired operation of the device. Battery bucket for 3 AAAs IC: 8310A-RE124 Tamper Switch & spring Under Industry Canada regulations, this radio transmitter may only operate using an antenna of a type and maximum (or lesser) gain approved for the transmitter by Industry Canada. To reduce potential radio interference to other users, the antenna type and its gain should be so chosen that the equivalent isotropically radiated power (e.i.r.p.) is not more than that necessary for successful communication. Power Terminals This radio transmitter (identify the device by certification number, or model number if Category II) has been approved by Industry Canada to operate with the antenna types listed below with the maximum permissible gain and required antenna impedance for each antenna type indicated. Antenna types not included in this list, having a gain greater than the maximum gain indicated for that type, are strictly prohibited for use with this device. - Resolution-supplied 8.5" monopole antenna Page 3 of 4 RE124HG_HNW-to-GE_Wireless_Translator 24-Hour Tech Support Line: (715)808-0164 www.ResolutionProducts.com 28-Sep-15 Page 4 of 4 RE124HG_HNW-to-GE_Wireless_Translator 24-Hour Tech Support Line: (715)808-0164 www.ResolutionProducts.com 28-Sep-15
