TOUT AU LONG DE L’AVENUE
Depuis sa fondation par MissPixels, Erik Beck
et Sven, trois artistes pluridisciplinaires qui
intègrent les plateformes mobiles dans leur
geste créatif, le MAM a constamment enrichi
son champ d’exploration en misant sur la
variété des médiums exploités par plusieurs
créateurs en art mobile. Le titre Mains libres
évoque ici un sentiment de liberté créative,
une façon d’illustrer comment les artistes
ont toujours eu la volonté de transgresser les
codes établis.
ALL ALONG THE AVENUE
Sur les plateaux de tournage de cinéma,
derrière la caméra, se cache un univers riche
en émotions. Le photographe Sébastien
Raymond s’intéresse depuis longtemps à ces
instants intimes où comédiens et réalisateurs
cherchent la vérité d’une scène. De cette
volonté de raconter le cinéma autrement est
né le livre Un temps d’acteur, dont sont tirées
les photographies de cette exposition.
A lot goes on behind the camera on a film
set and it can often be a highly emotional
environment. Photographer Sébastien has
long been interested in the intimate moments
of this world when actors and directors seek
to define the raw truth at the heart of a scene.
The photographs in this exhibit are taken from
Un temps d’acteurs, a book that aims to show
a new side of movie-making.

Since its foundation by MixxPixels, Erick Beck,
and Sven — three multidisciplinary artists
who have integrated mobile platforms into
their artwork — MAM has constantly sought to
expand its field of exploration and has begun to
incorporate a variety of mediums used by several
mobile artists. The title “Mains libres” evokes a
sense of creative freedom, a way to illustrate how
artists are always willing to break conventions.

Captées sur une période de vingt ans dans le
Nord-du-Québec, les photographies de cette
exposition de Robert Fréchette mettent en
lumière trois thèmes : le territoire nordique,
ses habitants et la faune arctique. La
combinaison des trois présente le Nunavik de
manière dynamique, comme un coin de pays
fascinant, presque mythique.
Featuring photos taken over the last 20 years
in northern Quebec, this exhibit by Robert
Fréchette highlights three themes: the
northern territories, its residents, and arctic
wildlife. The result is a dynamic representation
of Nunavik as a fascinating area that has
achieved a nearly mythic status.

L’évènement grand public Pavé Poésie amène
de façon nouvelle et décalée la poésie dans
l’espace public. L’édition 2016 promet d’être
un grand cru : Yann Perreau, Mara Tremblay
et bien d’autres figures majeures de la
scène artistique québécoise feront vibrer le
quartier au rythme des mots et de la poésie
pendant les quatre jours d’activités. Scène
extérieure, compétition de slam, parcours
poétiques, performances déjantées, activités
pour enfants et salon de lecture en plein air
complèteront la programmation.
Pavé Poésie is an event that offers a new
and playful take on poetry to the general
public. And the 2016 edition promises to be
spectacular: Yann Perreau, Mara Tremblay, and
many other prominent figures of the Quebec
artistic scene will come to the neighbourhood
to showcase their interpretation of poetry
during four vibrant days of activities. Outdoor
scenes, poetry slams, poetic pathways, wacky
performances, activities for kids, and outdoor
reading spaces will also be available.

Tableau Noir, RU, c’est le happening de quartier à Montréal. Pendant quatre jours et trois
soirs, les artistes s’emparent de la rue pour la
transformer au gré de leur imagination. Peinture sur bitume, mises en lumière, concerts
extérieurs, danse, installations artistiques,
tous les prétextes sont bons pour transformer
le quartier en plateforme de création. Bien sûr,
le public est invité à prendre part à cette belle
folie collective. Alors, tous dans la rue ! C’est le
moment de vivre l’expérience RU !
Previously known as Nuit Blanche sur Tableau
Noir, RU is the city’s biggest neighbourhood
party. For four days and three evenings, artists
take over the street and transform it to their
liking. Pavement art, light displays, outdoor
concerts, dance, artistic installations, any reason is a good one to turn the neighbourhood
into a creative space. And of course, the general public is invited once again to take part, so
get outside and discover the RU experience!

Pour fêter en grand la saison des grillades,
l’Avenue a invité le chef Antoine Sicotte,
le cuisinier rebelle, à animer la première
des deux soirées de BBQ au Parc des
Compagnons. Le jeudi 7 juillet, il offrira une
clinique culinaire et partagera ses trucs,
conseils et recettes pour réussir vos BBQ.
Apportez vos saucisses, entrecôtes et
autres pièces à faire griller et profitez de ses
conseils d’expert.
To celebrate BBQ season, the Avenue has
invited Chef Antoine Sicotte, the “Cuisinier
Rebelle”, to host the first of two BBQ events
that will take place in the evenings at Parc des
Compagnons. On Thursday, July 7, he’ll host
a culinary workshop and will share his tricks,
tips, and recipes for taking your BBQ meals to
the next level. Bring your sausages, steaks, and
other cuts to benefit from his expertise.

Vous êtes invités à faire une pause au
Jardin Franchère, à profiter du spectacle et
du parfum des fleurs, à devenir le témoin
privilégié de la métamorphose de cet espace
urbain. Pendant tout l’été, la nature reprendra
ses droits sur ce petit bout de terrain. Une
initiative soutenue par un groupe de citoyens
au pouce vert, qui se donne comme mission
de transformer l’espace en jardinet et de
prendre soin des fleurs et plantes potagères.
You’re invited to take a break at Franchère
Garden, to experience the exquisite vibrancy
and aromatic fragrances of the flowers, and
to witness the metamorphosis of this urban
space. All summer long, nature will reclaim
this small area of the neighbourhood. An
initiative of a group of green-thumbed citizens
whose goal was to convert the space into a
small garden and take care of its flowers and
vegetable plants.

Transformer ce petit parc oublié de tous
en espace foisonnant, ludique et… un brin
magique : c’est le pari relevé par l’Avenue via
le projet Prenez place ! Les fleurs, graminées,
vivaces, petits fruits rouges, légumes variés
et plantes aromatiques envahiront les bacs
aménagés spécialement pour le lieu. Et
comme pour ajouter une touche de fantaisie,
quatre chaises Adirondack géantes d’un rose
flamboyant côtoieront des petits modules
ludiques qui peupleront le parc comme autant
d’invitations à prendre place !
The Avenue’s Prenez Place! project was all
about transforming this small forgotten park
into a revitalized, fun, and magical space!
Flowers, grass, perennials, berries, vegetables,
and aromatic plants will overflow from special
bins set up for just the occasion. And as a
whimsical touch, the park will also feature four
giant bright pink Adirondack chairs along with
some playground equipment. We invite one
and all to take part!
