General information Participation: In accordance with CISM Regulations, only military personnel on active duty may participate in the competition. Such personnel must be in possession of a valid military identity card or a form of verification of military status accompanied by the athlete’s official passport. Transport: By plane to Hamad International Airport, transport from and to the airport will be provided by the organization. By Road to Abu Samra Immigration Check Post. (Map to Accommodation will be provided) The cost of travel to and return from Doha, Qatar will be the responsibility of the participating country. Composition of the mission: Chief of mission Coach/Team Captain Mixed Team Female Team TOTAL 1 1 3 3 8 Team may be a mix of males and females. In addition each country is allowed to bring one female team of 3 sailors. Additional persons will not be accepted by the organization without explicit written requested by the Chief of the concerned country and UNDER CONDITION of the written agreement from the Chief of the Qatar Delegation. Weather information: November is winter month in Qatar. Normal temperatures range from 20 to 32 Celsius in the day, in the night from 15 to 18 Celsius with a slight chance of rain. The wind conditions during the period can be found on http://www.windfinder.com/wind-cgi/homepageweather.pl?STATIONSNR=doha&CONFIG=1 Conditions of accommodation and stay: During the stay in Qatar from November 22nd until November 30th, the participants will be the guests of the Qatar delegation to CISM. Boarding and lodging will be at the expense of the organizers, except the activities not being part of the normal program (i.e. telephone, supplementary drinks, laundry, etc.). Event address: The championships will be organized in Doha Sailing Club which is located 15 min by drive from Hamad International Airport. The events will be governed by the regulations as stated in CISM SAILING REGULATIONS Paragraph #3. Anti-doping Anti Doping tests will be organized in accordance with the CISM anti-doping regulations – Policy Manual – Chapter IV. The tests will be performed according to the latest WADA Anti Doping Code and Procedures. Uniforms Service uniform with shoes is required for the Opening and closing ceremonies, for the barbeque and other official events. Sportswear will be usual attire for all activities on the competition sites. In the program you will find more information about dress code. Boat: The Boat to be used in the CISM World Championships will be 470 Class Boat. ISAF 470 Class Rules will apply. Required Items Every nation shall bring: National flag 1,0m x 1,5m Customs, Passport, Visas and Health Regulations The missions are responsible for having the necessary customs documents upon arrival in Doha, Qatar. For information on immigration requirements, please contact the Qatar embassy serving your country. Medical: The organizer will take care of medical support (first aid service) at the competition site. A doctor and an ambulance will be available in order to provide first aid service. Chief of Mission 1. Chiefs of Mission shall be familiar with CISM regulations. 2. Missions must not only participate or be present at sports events, they are also required to participate in information conferences on CISM, study days, commemorative and cultural events and ceremonies organized by the host nation. B. Conduct of a mission 1. The Chief of Mission is responsible for the behavior of his team in sports and general discipline. He shall ensure that members of his mission respect the rules and directives prescribed by CISM and organizers of the championship. The respect of schedules is particularly important as they form the basis for the effective conduct of competitions and ceremonies. Instances of indiscipline or poor sportsmanship will be handled by Championship officials and may result in the disqualification of individual athletes or teams. 2. The Chief of Mission shall also enforce the rules concerning behavior and dress during the ceremonies. He plays an important role in promoting the CISM spirit among his mission, a spirit represented by friendly attitude towards other missions, courtesy towards organizers and fair-play in competition. The mission, who does not wear military uniforms during the opening ceremony of a Championship, will not be authorized to take part in the Championship. The Official CISM Representative will communicate this decision. 3. In conformity with the Statutes and traditions of CISM, any political or religious action during a CISM event, in particular the dissemination of propaganda documents, pictures, brochures, reviews, etc, is strictly forbidden. Any contravention shall result in the exclusion of the mission from further competition.
