The Organising Authority of the 53rd Cowes-Deauville Race 2015 is the Royal
London Yacht Club in association with the Royal Southern Yacht Club and the
Deauville Yacht Club, and supported by the Yacht Club de France.
1.
RULES
RÈGLES
The race will be governed by the current Racing Rules of Sailing (RRS), and the Sailing Instructions (SIs). Between
the hours of sunset and sunrise the International Regulations for the Prevention of Collisions at Sea or government
right of way rules shall replace the corresponding RRS Part 2 rules and navigation lights shall be displayed.
La régate est régie par les règles de course à la voile (RCV).. Entre les heures de coucher et lever du soleil, les
Règles Internationales, pour éviter les abordages en mer remplaceront les règles correspondants des RCV
paragraphe 2 et les feux de navigation devront être allumés.
2.
SAFETY
SÉCURITÉ
The current ISAF/ORC Special Regulations Category 3 plus liferaft (as Category 2) shall apply but these regulations
in no way limit the complete responsibility of the owner.
Les règlements habituels de l’ISAF/ORC catégorie 3 plus canot de sauvetage (catégorie 2) s’appliqueront mais ces
règlements ne limiteront en aucun cas la responsabilité complète du propriétaire.
3.
STATEMENT OF RISK
REFUS DE RESPONSIBILITÉ
Rule 4 of the Racing Rules of Sailing states: “The responsibility for a boat’s decision to participate in a race or to
continue racing is hers alone.”
Sailing is by its nature an unpredictable sport and therefore inherently involves an element of risk. By taking part in
the event, each competitor agrees and acknowledges that:
(a) They are aware of the inherent element of risk involved in the sport and accept responsibility for the exposure of
themselves, their crew and their boat to such inherent risk whilst taking part in the event;
(b) They are responsible for the safety of themselves, their crew, their boat and their other property whether afloat or
ashore;
(c) They accept responsibility for any injury, damage or loss to the extent caused by their own actions or omissions;
(d) Their boat is in good order, equipped to sail in the event and they are fit to participate;
(e) The provision of a race management team, patrol boats and other officials and volunteers by the event organiser
does not relieve them of their own responsibilities;
(f) The provision of patrol boat cover is limited to such assistance, particularly in extreme weather conditions, as can
be practically provided in the circumstances;
Règles 4 des RCV: “La decision d’un bateau de participer à une course ou de rester en course relève de sa seule
responsabilité”.
Les clubs organisateurs ne donneront le départ de cette course qu’à condition que ces clubs et leurs représentants
n’aient aucune responsabilité en cas de perte, blessure, ou inconvénient survenant aux yachts ou aux personnes
comme conséquence directe ou indirecte de ces règles, de leur application et des décisions prises pendant la course
et les activités annexes. Ainsi les propriétaires des bateaux:
(a)
accepteront l’entière responsabilité pour les qualités marines et la sécurité de navigation de leurs bateaux et
équipages, et utiliseront leur propre jugement pour décider de prendre le départ, continuer la course ou
abandonner en fonction des conditions existantes ou prévues.
(b)
discuteront des conditions de course avec leurs équipages avant le départ
(c)
accepteront leurs responsabilités sur l’inscription officielle

ADVERTISING ANNONCE
Competitor and event Advertising is permitted under ISAF Regulation 20.

5.
RATING BANDS JAUGES
Boats without a current valid IRC Certificate from the RORC or UNCL may race under the FFV HN Osiris Rating

upon submitting an application to the Royal London YC before April 14 2015. The cost of an HN Osiris Certificate,
valid 5 years, is 27€ (<10 m), 37 € (>10 m) payable to the Deauville Yacht Club on arrival in Deauville.
IRC Boats will be rated using the RORC/UNCL IRC 2000 rating System (IRC) with a minimum SSS Number of 15.
Any protests or requests for redress concerning ratings shall be lodged before the start of the race.
Sail and Power entrants will received their rating from the Royal Southern Yacht Club.
Les voiliers sans certificat IRC délivré par le RORC ou l’UNCL peuvent courir en HN Osiris.Ils déposeront leur
demande de certificat au Royal London Yacht Club avant le 14 avril 2015. Le cout d’un certificat HN Osiris, valable 5
ans, est de 27 € (<10m), 37€ (>10m) payable au Deauville Yacht Club à leur arrivée.
Les concurrents français doivent présenter un certificat HN Osiris en cours de validité.
Les bateaux IRC seront évalués suivant le système RORC/UNCL IRC 2000 avec un minimum SSS de 15. Toutes
réclamations concernant le rating devront être déposées avant le départ de la course.
Les bateaux en catégorie « Voile & Moteur » recevront leur rating par le Royal Southern Yacht Club.
6.
FACILITIES FOR COMPETITORS

Entrants are invited to use the facilities of the Royal London and Royal Southern Yacht Clubs and the Deauville
Yacht Club on arrival. Further details will be advised in the Sailing Instructions.

7.
BERTHING MOUILLAGE À QUAI
Berthing is available at Cowes Yacht Haven before the race. On arrival at Deauville yachts are encouraged to berth
together in the inner Deauville basin rather than the Outer Marina. Boats restricted by the depth in Deauville (Max
2.70 metres draft) are invited to berth in the Outer Marina at Deauville

www.rlyc.org.uk and www.royal-southern.co.uk and the Royal Southern Yacht Club in Hamble or the Royal
London Yacht Club in Cowes prior to the start.

invited to attend. In the event of winning a prize, boats undertake to attend the prize giving or to nominate a person
to represent their boat.

Euro cheques are payble to Deauville Yacht Club. The Entry Form and payment must be mailed no later
