His Worship Jim Watson, Mayor of the City of Ottawa, and The Honourable Justice Murray Sinclair, Chair of
the Truth and Reconciliation Commission of Canada (TRC), request the pleasure of your company at the official
launch of the TRC’s closing events in Ottawa.
In honour of former students of Indian Residential Schools and as a gesture of reconciliation, the City of Ottawa
is pleased to host The Witness Blanket Project, a large scale art installation, from May 16 to July 9, 2015.
Please Join Mayor Watson, Justice Sinclair and Mr. Carey Newman, Master Carver of the Witness Blanket,
as they officially unveil The Witness Blanket Project at Ottawa City Hall.

Place: Andrew S. Haydon Hall, Ottawa City Hall, 110 Laurier Avenue West
Justice Sinclair will outline the TRC’s work and closing events, which will take place May 31 to June 3, 2015.
Master Carver Carey Newman will describe the significance of The Witness Blanket Project.

de clôture de la Commission à Ottawa.
En l’honneur des anciens élèves des pensionnats indiens, et comme geste de réconciliation, la Ville d’Ottawa est
heureuse d’abriter le projet de la « Witness Blanket » (couverture témoin), une installation artistique à grande
échelle, du 16 mai au 9 juillet 2015.
