L'ÎLE AUX CENT MILLE MORTS (ISLE OF 100,000 GRAVES) Fabien Vehlmann (Texts) Jason (Arts) 56 pages 240 x 320 mm Colour One-shot Pitch A smart girl finds a map to the Isle of 100,000 Graves: a place where her father probably went lost, and that hides a famed treasure. She convinces a bunch of pirates to bring her there – but the island is (ironically) up to its name. Summary Gwenny finds a treasure map inside a bottle on the beach. Would it be of the same island her father sailed to – and got lost? A hooded boy is dumping tens of bottled treasure island maps in the sea, just as usual. Why? In the attempt to find out her father’s destiny, the girl fools a crew of pirates into bring her to the Isle of 100,000 Graves and its supposed great treasure. There, the crew discovers that the island really hides something unique: a torturers’ academy. And they are getting off board just in time for the practical exams. Key points - An adventure in the key of Robert L. Stevenson’s Treasure Island, with a dark humour twist. The unmistakable, deadpan drawing style of Jason, for the first time serving somebody else’s story. 2012 Eisner Awards nominee (Best U.S. Edition of International Material) Contact: Éditions GLÉNAT | 39 rue du Gouverneur Éboué | 92130 | Issy les Moulineaux | France Foreign Rights Etienne Bonnin (Mr) | [email protected] | Tel: +33 1 41 46 11 09 Olivier Galli | [email protected] | Tel: +33 1 41 46 11 25
