Caroline Bénech was born in 1980 in Paris. She obtained a Masters in Graphic Arts from the ESAG Penninghen (Paris) in 2003, following studies
at Académie Julian. While expanding her personal practice as a visual artist, she spent several years between France and China (Shanghai and
Hong-Kong), developing projects with luxury brand companies interested in her plural creative expression. Her ability to flourish artistically in very
diverse environments and cultures allows her to collaborate with architects and decorators, whether on commissions or site specific projects.
As she began to experiment with new media, Caroline has proven sensitive to the energy of urban universes and she travels widely to collect her
own samples, through SLR photography, smartphone, videos and sound takes in such environments. Her work focuses on recordings of reality
transformed with filters and superimposed colored graphics. Often initially figurative, her work evolves into an uncluttered stream of expression
symbolized by harmony between planes, colors and textures. Through this approach she shows a constant interest for the sensory perception of
light and space.
Caroline Bénech est née à Paris en 1980. Elle obtient le Master d’Arts Graphiques de l’ESAG Penninghen en 2003, après avoir suivi les cours
de l’Académie Julian. Parallèlement au développement de sa propre pratique artistique, elle élabore, pendant plusieurs années en France et en
Asie (Shanghai et Hong-Kong), des échanges avec des marques de luxe qui s’intéressent à son univers visuel. Son sens du dialogue avec des
environnements et cultures variés, l’amène également à collaborer avec des architectes et décorateurs, pour des commandes particulières et
projets in situ.
Sensible à l’énergie des univers urbains, elle voyage pour en capter ses propres échantillons : photographies reflex, smartphone, vidéos, prises de
sons. Sa pratique est à l’origine concentrée sur ces enregistrements du réel qu’elle transforme avec des filtres et aplats graphiques superposés.
En partie figuratif dans un premier temps, son travail fait ensuite place à une expression plus épurée, symbole d’une harmonie entre les plans, la
couleur et la texture. Dans cette démarche demeure un intérêt constant pour les phénomènes de lumière et de perception de l’espace.
