There are two batteries to operate the
s h u t t e r a n d t o f i r e t h e f l a s h c u b e .l f t h e y

If you are not sure of the condition of
the batteries, test them as explained
below, and change them if necessary.In
any event, the batteries should be
changed at least once a year.
The battery holder and batteries are

Protectyour camera and film: Keep them
in a carryingcaseor bag when not in use.
It is particularlyimportant to protect
film from heat and humidity. Don't rem o v e f i l m f r o m i t s s e a l e dw r a p p e r u n t i l
you are ready to use it. Don't leave a
loaded camera or packages of film in
directsunlight,or in a car in hot weather.
lf you store film or a loaded camera in
a closet, keep it near the floor where it
is cooler.
Extreme heat can damage your film
even if it is in a sealed package.
Salt water can causecorrosionin parts
of your camera,and dry salt depositscan
scratch the lens. Rain, water and high
humidity can also cause damage, so
alwayskeep the camera dry.
Dust and sand can scratchthe lens; if
they get inside the camera, they can
affect its operation.
How to clean the lens: Breathe on it to
d a m p e n t h e s u r f a c e ,t h e n w i p e i t l i g h t l y
with clean, dry, absorbentcotton. Never
use siliconecoatedeyeglasstissues.Clean
the viewfinderwindows in the same way.

The spreadermust be kept clean or you
will not get good pictures. The two steel
rollers in the spreader assembly play a

do it before loading each new film pack.
